About Solar Energy
Solar power is energy from the sun that is transformed into thermal or electrical energy.
Solar energy is the cleanest and most abundant renewable resource source available, and the United States has some of the richest solar resources worldwide. Modern innovation can harness this energy for a variety of usages, consisting of producing electricity, supplying light or a comfortable interior environment, and heating water for domestic, commercial, or industrial usage.
Solar power makes it possible for property owner to use the sun to power daily life: running your air conditioning unit, washing clothing, viewing TELEVISION, cooking dinner. All while minimizing your carbon footprint, and without burning nonrenewable fuel sources or putting a pressure on the electrical grid. And while the environmental benefits of solar power are substantial, lots of residents find that the convenience, special features, and expense savings of owning a solar power system are even more enticing.
Top 10 Benefits of Solar Energy
#1 Considerably lower and even eliminate your electrical expenses
Whether you're a house owner, service, or nonprofit, electrical power costs can make up a large part of your month-to-month expenses. With a photovoltaic panel system, you'll produce free power for your system's whole 25+ year lifecycle. Even if you don't produce 100 percent of the energy you consume, solar will lower your energy expenses and you'll still conserve a great deal of loan.
#2 Make an excellent return on your financial investment
Solar panels aren't a cost-- they're one of the best methods to invest, with returns matching those of more traditional investments like stocks and bonds. Thanks to considerable electrical energy costs savings, the average American house owner settles their solar panel system in seven to 8 years and sees an ROI of 20 percent or more.
#3 Protect versus increasing energy costs
One of the most clear cut advantages of solar panels is the capability to hedge utility costs. In the previous 10 years, domestic electrical power prices have gone up by approximately 3 percent every year. By buying a solar energy system now, you can repair your electricity rate and safeguard against unforeseeable increases in electricity expenses. If you're a service or homeowner with changing cash circulation, going solar also helps you better projection and handle your expenses.
#4 Increase your residential or commercial property worth
Numerous studies have actually found that homes equipped with solar energy systems have higher property values and offer more quickly than non-solar houses. Appraisers are progressively taking solar setups into consideration as they value houses at the time of a sale, and as property buyers become more educated about solar, demand for homes equipped with photovoltaic panel systems will continue to grow.
#5 Increase U.S. energy self-reliance
The sun is a near-infinite source of energy and an essential part of achieving energy self-reliance in the United States. By increasing our capacity to create electrical power from the sun, we can likewise insulate our nation from cost changes in worldwide energy markets.
#6 Create jobs and assist your local economy
Inning accordance with The Solar Structure, the solar market included tasks at a rate almost 12 times faster than the general U.S. economy in 2015, representing 1.2 percent of all jobs in the nation. This development is expected to continue. Due to the fact that solar-related tasks tend to be higher paying and can not be contracted out, they are a considerable factor to the U.S. economy.
#7 Secure the environment
Solar is a great method to decrease your carbon footprint. Structures are responsible for 38 percent of all carbon emissions in the U.S., and going solar can substantially decrease that number. A normal residential solar panel system will eliminate three to four lots of carbon emissions each year-- the equivalent of planting over 100 trees annually.
#8 Demonstrate your dedication to sustainability
Sustainability and corporate social duty are necessary elements of a company's culture and values. They likewise produce bottom line results. Progressively, customers and communities are recognizing and rewarding companies that select to run responsibly. Organisations are finding that "green" credentials are an effective motorist of consumer purchasing choices, developing goodwill and improving service results.
#9 Start Conserving from Day 1
Solar purchase power arrangements (PPAs) and solar leasing has made it possible for house owners to go solar for little or no loan down.
Lots of homeowners decide to finance their solar panels with among the "pay-as-you-go" funding choices. This suggests that a third-party company-- the solar company-- owns the planetary system and takes care of setup, maintenance, monitoring and repair works. You simply pay the solar service provider for electricity-- less than you would've paid the utility company.
As of June 2013, 75% of all American homes have access to pay-as-you-go solar.
#10. Solar is a Secure Financial investment
The energy companies are well-known for their fluctuating and unreliable electrical energy prices. There is plainly an upward trend.
With solar panels and easy mathematics, we can calculate how much electrical power will be created, and most importantly, at what rate, for at least the next Twenty Years (fixed energy expenses).

2. Are There Normally Bathrooms On A Yacht Or Boat? Where Am I Supposed To Dispose Of My Waste Without Polluting The Environment?
3. What Is The General Price For A 4 Bedroom, 4 Bathroom Yacht?
4. Arn'T All Yachts Custom Made? If So, Does Mangusta Make Custom Yachts?
5. Please Tell Me Everything You Can About Using Strictly Solar Energy For A Yacht. How Long Do Solar Panels Last? What Do I Do If I'M In A Cloudy Area Without Much Sun? Exactly How Much Power Will The Solar Panels Provide To The Boat?
I'M Planning On Owning And Living On A 4 Bedroom, 4 Bathroom Yacht Manufactured By Mangusta. The Yacht Will Be Home To My Three Future Kids Plus Me And My Husband. I'M Against Pollution Of All Kinds And I'D Rather Help The Planet Than Damage It, So Thats Why I'M Wanting The Yacht To Be 100% Environmental-Friendly. It'Ll Have Two Jet Propulsion Motors And Numerous Solar Panels. My Family And I Will Be Traveling Around The World, Cleaning Up Ocean And Land Pollution. I'Ve Already Got A List Of Countries I Want To Visit And Oceans I Want To Dive Into. My Kids Will Be Homeschooled, So The Education Bit Is Already Taken Care Of. We'Ll Collect Rain Water For Drinking, Fish For Seafood, And Grow Fruits And Vegetables. Basically, It'Ll Be A Yacht Of The Future. It Won'T Have A Jacuzzi Or A Bar, But It Will Have All The Neccessities Of A Modern House, And Still Look Luxorious.

I Know There Are Risks Of Living At Sea; Pirates, Storms, Marine Predators Such As Sharks - But, To Me, It Is No Different Than Living On Land; Burglars, Lightning Storms, Murderers. Besides, At Least I Won'T Drown When The World Ends. I'Ve Predicted, Much Like Most Others, That Global Warming Will Cause The Oceans To Flood The Land. Survivalists Like Me Will Be In A House That Floats On Water, And Will Still Have All The Things Needed In Order To Survive (Fish, Fruits, Vegetables, Rain Water).
1. the water needs to be unsalted so dont use sea water and u can collect it from rain but normally people fill up the holding tank while on the pier
2. theres never a normal place for a bathroom on a yacht but usually they r inside and the waste has to be pumped out later on
3. at least 300 thousand $$ if its used and they r still in really nice condition
4. not all yachts r custom and most companies will customize it for a price
5. solar panels last around 10 years and if its cloudy u have to wait for the sky to clear up and most likely wont be enough power to move a yacht around
Solar Panel Stops &Quot;Working&Quot; When Plugged Into 12V Port?
I Have A 12V Solar Panel Which Can Be Connected To Your Car Battery, Either Directly With Clamps Or Through A Cigarette (12V) Lighter Port.
The Solar Panel Has A Red Led Which Starts Blinking Once Enough Light Is Present, Indicating That Electricity Is Produced. I Measured The Power On The Lighter Plug, And It Is There, It Works And Reaches Manufacturers Specifications.
But Here Is The Problem, As Soon As I Plug It Into A Port In The Car, The Red Led Stops Blinking (And Therefore No Charge Is Happening).
I Have 2 12V Ports, One Is The Original Cigarette Lighter Port, The Other One A Auxiliary Port. Both Are Connected Permanently, Meaning There Is Constant Power Available.
When I Plug It Into My Jump Starter, It Works Just Fine.
Any Idea Why This Is Happening And What Is &Quot;Wrong&Quot;?
Firstly you have not mentioned if the engine was on or off. This makes a big difference.
A 12V solar pannel with no load may make as much as 14V depending on design. However a 12V lead acid battery is charged at 14.4V approximately and car body electronics run at 14.4V with the motor running. A fully charged 12V lead acid battery with no load can be as high as 13.4V if it is brand new or in excellent condition. So if you have a battery in very good condition with no load you will get no current flow because the battery is higher voltage than the solar pannel. You also have to take into account that there is a blocking diode which drops about 0.6V so your output for a pannel generating 13V is actually 12.4.
Firstly count how many cells your solar pannel has. Each cell will generate about 0.55V with no load and 0.45V on full rated load. Typically they have 26 cells which gives 14,2V before the diode or 13.6 after, with no load. On full load this will be more like 11,7 before the diode and 11.1 after on full load.
Check the voltage on your battery with the engine off and everything switched off. If you ger more than about 13.2V then your not going to get much current flow so that is why you dont see the LED flashing. Turn the headlights on with the engine off and you should notice the voltage on the battery drop to maybe 12.5 or so. Less than 12 and you potentially have a faulty battery. At this point the LED should start flashing. If it does not then you have something weird going on.
NB for the guy that damaged his battery with the solar charger. Check the output voltage on it as it sounds like it may be one of the older ones that has too high an output voltage, If the output with no load is above 14.4 then it will damage the battery as you found, If the voltage is less than this then there is something else going on.
How Many Global Warming Freaks Have Solar Panels, Drive Hybrids, And Have Recycled Irragation Systems ? Hmmmm?
Who Knows How Much It Would Cost Every American To Convert To Alternative Energies ? $50,000. . . $100,000 ? They Scream About Feeding The Millions Of Poor People. . .. How The Heck Could We Afford To Convert Every Home And Car In America ?
You Conservatives really make my blood boil.
I'll have you know that Ms. Barbra Streisand, our brave leader in the fight against global warming, is flying her beautiful, Cessna Citation jet all around the country to find just the right decorator color of solar panels to use at her Malibu compound. She will prove to the world that "green" can be beautiful.
How dare you bring up such a crass thing such as money! I'll have you know that Ms. Streisand is probably just scraping by to purchase these solar panels because she doesn't really have a career anymore, and now she also has a husband to support.
Can't you Conservatives ever think about anything but money?
Is Direct Sun Light Needed To Recharge Batteries With The Use Solar Panels?
the output from a solar cell increases with the increase in the intensity of light falling on it
a solar cell will produce power when any light is incident on it (an incandescent bulb , a CFT , a candle, an led ) but the output power will be less
as sunlight is the most powerful and abundant light source available we use it
when direct sunlight is incident on a solar cell it can provide more current so more current will be taken by battery to charge and so it will charge quickly
when light is less ( no direct sunlight ) the battery will charge if the voltage produced by the cell is sufficient but the cell will provide less current hence the battery charge very slowly
for best result the solar cell must be placed normal to the incident light
Conservatives: Why Is It Considered &Quot;Conservative&Quot; To Be Against Clean Energy Sources And Environment Issues?
Shouldn'T The &Quot;Conservative&Quot; Position Be The Adult, Responsible Position On Issues? Surely Nobody Sincerely Believes Air Pollution Is A Good Thing, Yet &Quot;Conservatives&Quot; Seem To Be Opposed To Solar And Wind Generators, Non-Polluting Cars That Run On Electricity Or Compressed Air And Hybrid Car Technology.
I Consider Myself A Conservative, And Am Sincerely Distressed That What Passes As &Quot;Conservativism&Quot; On Environmental Issues Is Not The Responsible Position.
Should I Cease Regarding Myself As A Conservative? I'M A Tea Party Kind Of Guy. Should I Just Disavow The &Quot;Conservative&Quot; Nomenclature?
It's not. Most conservatives are for clean energy and the environment. But like most things conservatives have a practical outlook on it. For example:
Conservative energy view: We should develop non polluting self reliant energy sources like nuclear power.
Liberal energy view: We should shut down all oil and coal plants and just use solar and wind power even thought it will not meet our energy demands and be 10x as expensive
