What Our Customers are Saying

"We found all of the employees with whom we in contact from the sales representative to the installers to be knowledgeable and professional. All our questions were answered satisfactorily which is why we decided panels installed. We were also impressed with the company’s A+ rating by the Better Business Bureau.” – Pat S. – Boston

"Our first two bills were approximately $300.00 less than before and our third bill, just received was down about $250.00 from what we were paying! We think it is fantastic!" - William R. - Waltham MA

"They did a wonderful job on my system and I would recommend them to my family and friends!" - Georg S. - Chicopee MA

I cannot express my gratitude for going forward with solar panels. From the initial meeting to discuss the possibility to the techs who eventually installed them. But most of all, it is the savings we have experienced. That first month was unbelievable. Solar plus our other electric source combined was less than our usual monthly expense. During the summer when our electric usage is higher because of the air conditioning, our monthly expense was still less than what we have paid with past summer usage. And if that’s not enough…our present electricity is primarily supplied by the solar panels. We have been building up a reserve with our other electricity source and will be able to draw from that all winter when our panels wont’t generate as much electricity. It’s a win-win situation that we’re just thrilled over. Having a fixed rate locked in is another great feature for savings.” – Virgil T. – Westport MA

About Solar Energy

Solar power is energy from the sun that is transformed into thermal or electrical energy.

Solar energy is the cleanest and most abundant renewable resource source available, and the United States has some of the richest solar resources worldwide. Modern innovation can harness this energy for a variety of usages, consisting of producing electricity, supplying light or a comfortable interior environment, and heating water for domestic, commercial, or industrial usage.

Solar Benefits

Solar power makes it possible for property owner to use the sun to power everyday life: running your air conditioning system, washing clothing, watching TV, cooking supper. All while lowering your carbon footprint, and without burning fossil fuels or putting a stress on the electrical grid. And while the environmental advantages of solar power are significant, many residents find that the benefit, special functions, and expense savings of owning a solar power system are even more alluring.

Leading Benefits of Solar Energy

#1 Drastically reduce or perhaps remove your electric expenses

Whether you're a house owner, service, or not-for-profit, electrical power costs can comprise a big part of your month-to-month costs. With a solar panel system, you'll create totally free power for your system's entire 25+ year lifecycle. Even if you do not produce 100 percent of the energy you take in, solar will minimize your utility expenses and you'll still conserve a great deal of money.

#2 Make a fantastic return on your investment

Solar panels aren't a cost-- they're one of the best methods to invest, with returns matching those of more traditional investments like stocks and bonds. Thanks to considerable electricity expense savings, the typical American house owner pays off their solar panel system in seven to eight years and sees an ROI of 20 percent or more.

#3 Safeguard against rising energy costs

One of the most clear cut benefits of photovoltaic panels is the capability to hedge utility prices. In the past 10 years, residential electrical energy prices have actually gone up by an average of 3 percent yearly. By purchasing a solar energy system now, you can repair your electricity rate and secure against unpredictable boosts in electricity costs. If you're a business or homeowner with fluctuating capital, going solar likewise helps you better projection and manage your expenses.

#4 Boost your home worth

Several studies have actually discovered that houses equipped with solar energy systems have greater home values and sell faster than non-solar houses. Appraisers are increasingly taking solar installations into factor to consider as they value homes at the time of a sale, and as homebuyers end up being more educated about solar, demand for properties geared up with solar panel systems will continue to grow.

#5 Boost U.S. energy independence

The sun is a near-infinite source of energy and a key element of attaining energy independence in the United States. By increasing our capacity to create electrical energy from the sun, we can also insulate our country from price changes in worldwide energy markets.

#6 Create jobs and assist your local economy

Inning accordance with The Solar Structure, the solar market included tasks at a rate almost 12 times faster than the overall U.S. economy in 2015, representing 1.2 percent of all jobs in the country. This development is expected to continue. Since solar-related jobs have the tendency to be greater paying and can not be contracted out, they are a significant factor to the U.S. economy.

#7 Protect the environment

Solar is an excellent way to decrease your carbon footprint. Buildings are responsible for 38 percent of all carbon emissions in the United States, and going solar can considerably reduce that number. A common property photovoltaic panel system will get rid of 3 to four heaps of carbon emissions each year-- the equivalent of planting over 100 trees every year.

#8 Demonstrate your commitment to sustainability

Sustainability and corporate social obligation are very important elements of a company's culture and values. They also produce bottom line results. Progressively, consumers and communities are acknowledging and rewarding services that opt to operate responsibly. Organisations are discovering that "green" qualifications are an effective chauffeur of customer purchasing choices, producing goodwill and enhancing organisation outcomes.

#9 Start Saving from Day 1

Solar purchase power arrangements (PPAs) and solar leasing has made it possible for house owners to go solar for little or no loan down.

Numerous homeowners select to finance their photovoltaic panels with among the "pay-as-you-go" financing choices. This suggests that a third-party business-- the solar company-- owns the planetary system and looks after setup, upkeep, tracking and repair works. You simply pay the solar company for electrical power-- less than you would've paid the energy business.

As of June 2013, 75% of all American houses have access to pay-as-you-go solar.

#10. Solar is a Secure Investment

The utility companies are infamous for their changing and unreliable electrical energy prices. There is plainly an upward pattern.

With photovoltaic panels and simple math, we can compute just how much electrical energy will be generated, and most importantly, at exactly what rate, for at least the next Twenty Years (fixed energy costs).

Frequently Asked Questions

Choosing Right Wattage Solar Panel?
Got A Small Project Here In A Remote Location. There Is To Be A 12 Volt Deep Cycle Battery, The Equipment To Be Powered From Battery And Solar Panel To Charge Battery. The 12 Volt Battery Puts Out 55 Ah. The Max Constant Power Draw From The Equipment To Be Powered Is 7.9 Watts. Will A 30 Watt Panel At 12 Volts Be Enough To Run This System During Sunlight And Charge The Battery For The Equipment To Run Overnight? And, At 55 Ah, How Long Can I Keep A Constant Draw Of 7.9 Watts Without A Recharge? Thanks To All The Input!

"Will a 30 watt panel at 12 volts be enough to run this system during sunlight and charge the battery for the equipment to run overnight?"
Maybe theoretically, but you're going to have very little margin for losses and clouds. I'll bet it has very little power when cloudy.

7.9/30 => 0.26. So at 100% efficiency, you'd need it to be charging more than 25% of each 24 hour period. In a summer with long days and a climate with few clouds, you might make it. But I think you're very close to the edge.

"And, at 55 AH, how long can I keep a constant draw of 7.9 watts without a recharge?"

For an ideal battery:
time = Q V / P
time = 55 A h * 12V / 7.9W
time = 83 hours

So you've got pretty good margin on your battery.

Solar Energy Is It Worth It?
Well I Was Reading A Magazine National Geographic, And They These Solar Wind Panels Out In The Ocean Or Somewhere In The Water And They Had A Helicopter Fly To Each One For Maintence And The Such. Know Iam Thinking Doe Sit Cost More To Have Him Fly To Each One And Check Them And Then Helicopter Itself Aswell Or Would It Be Better To Invest Else Where In Alternative Energies Besides Solar? I Know There Are Many But What Are Your Opinions On This? Thank You For Your Answers.

I cannot picture solar arrays on the ocean being practical. Solar panels on the top of ocean oil platforms would be efficient though. A combined energy station say with wind, wave, and underwater current could include solar near its stations.
Solar panels on homes is a worthy investment both for the energy and piece of mind of being semi-independent from grid power.

Does Anyone Know The Approximate Cost Of Installing Solar Panels?
I Would Really Like To Get At Least Partially Off The Grid. My Electricity Bill Is About $300 A Month. And That Almost Doubles In Winter I'D Really Like To Install Solar Andwind Generating Panels On My Garage Roof To At Least Suppliment The City Provided Electricity.

There are so many variables it is impossible to estimate the cost.

You need to learn as much as possible about solar systems, and the expected performance in your area. I live near San Francisco. My 6 kW rated system averages about 4 kW, and I get around 24 kilowatt hours per day. Your electric bill will tell you how much this amounts to in dollars per month.

California has what is called net billing. If in a year I use more than I make, I pay regular rates for the overage. If I make more than I use, it goes to the utility as a gift. However, I make more than I use during the day, I get credit for it at the regular rate. Not as a lower rate as one responder suggests. At night I get it back at night at the regular rate.

You could consider a heat pump, and perhaps a ground source system. It should reduce your heating and air conditioning bills by about two thirds.

Uses Of Day Lightning?
As We All Know Day Light Is Necessary For Every Living Thing. The Whole Life On Earth As We See It Cannot Exist Without Sunlight, Which Is The Primary Source Of Energy. Even Today'S Fossil Fuels Were Living Creatures (Plants And Animals) At One Time And They Were Alive At That Time Only Because Of Sunlight. Sunlight Can Be Used For Growth, Maintenance And For Destruction And It Also Brings Joy, Happiness And Positive Energy Amongst The People. It Can Be Used For Growing Plants For Making Their Food , Maintaining Our Population Through Rice And Other Food Crops As It Enhance The Quality And Destroys Bacteria And Virus In The Environment In India People Are So Much Dependent On Day Lightning That They Cannot Think Living Without Sunlight.

I am sure you mean lighting and not lightening in your typo above. Day lighting is especially effective for students. It has been shown that schools who use natural day lighting get better results from attending students. There is a cost of energy savings by using natural day lighting. Museums realize this lighting is less harmful to the paintings and artwork. Thus, it probably is safer for us as well. Direct sunlight is a different matter but diffused natural light through proper use of skylights and windows are the best new use of passive solar energy. There are many more depressed people suffering from illness when they are living without daylight. I like daylight simply because I also see better and feel the energy invigorate me. In the evening as the sun goes down I tend to slow down myself. I do use artificial light in the house and prefer daylight output. But, not all my bulbs are the same as a daylight output. I live in a house with many windows so all day I do not need artificial light except perhaps on the darkest of days. Even then my eyes adjust well. Color is so important to my paintings with watercolors that they are best done in daylight outside. In fact, I hardly ever give in and paint with watercolors when there is no natural daylight. I use photovoltaic solar panels to make electricity and they definitely follow the sun on trackers for best output as do my sunflowers in the garden. Few animals prefer darkness. Since we are animals we also must respect the daylight. Night time moonlight is also effective for starting many plants. Be aware root plants like carrots and beets actually get a better seed start in darkness. In the end I appreciate day and night. It is the balance that works best.

Solar Panel Connected To Battery ??
Im Doin A Science Experiment And I Have A Battery That Is 3.6 Volts , Does It Matter Wut Voltage The Solar Panel That Im Connecting It To Is . Does It Need To Match , Be Less Or Does Voltage Have No Effect . If So Wut Does Matter When Choosing The Type Of Solar Panel To Power A Bettery?

You really need a little more infomation about your battery. It should have a recommended range of charging current. You should not exceed that range. Your solar cells must be a higher voltage than the battery, but you should not connect the cells directly to the battery. First, you need a diode in the line to keep the battery from draining into the solar cells when there is no light. Second, you need a resistor to limit the charging current. You have a 3.6v battery. Let's say the charging current is 0.1A. Use a 5v solar cell and silicon diode. The diode will drop the cell voltage to 4.3v. The voltage across the resistor will be .7v for .1A current, you need a 7-ohm resistor.
