What Our Customers are Saying

"We found all of the employees with whom we in contact from the sales representative to the installers to be knowledgeable and professional. All our questions were answered satisfactorily which is why we decided panels installed. We were also impressed with the company’s A+ rating by the Better Business Bureau.” – Pat S. – Boston

"Our first two bills were approximately $300.00 less than before and our third bill, just received was down about $250.00 from what we were paying! We think it is fantastic!" - William R. - Waltham MA

"They did a wonderful job on my system and I would recommend them to my family and friends!" - Georg S. - Chicopee MA

I cannot express my gratitude for going forward with solar panels. From the initial meeting to discuss the possibility to the techs who eventually installed them. But most of all, it is the savings we have experienced. That first month was unbelievable. Solar plus our other electric source combined was less than our usual monthly expense. During the summer when our electric usage is higher because of the air conditioning, our monthly expense was still less than what we have paid with past summer usage. And if that’s not enough…our present electricity is primarily supplied by the solar panels. We have been building up a reserve with our other electricity source and will be able to draw from that all winter when our panels wont’t generate as much electricity. It’s a win-win situation that we’re just thrilled over. Having a fixed rate locked in is another great feature for savings.” – Virgil T. – Westport MA

About Solar Energy

Solar power is energy from the sun that is transformed into thermal or electrical energy.

Solar energy is the cleanest and most abundant renewable resource source available, and the United States has some of the richest solar resources worldwide. Modern innovation can harness this energy for a variety of usages, consisting of producing electricity, supplying light or a comfortable interior environment, and heating water for domestic, commercial, or industrial usage.

Solar Benefits

Solar power makes it possible for resident to use the sun to power everyday life: running your air conditioner, washing clothing, seeing TV, cooking supper. All while minimizing your carbon footprint, and without burning fossil fuels or putting a strain on the electrical grid. And while the environmental benefits of solar power are considerable, lots of home owners discover that the convenience, distinct features, and expense savings of owning a solar power system are a lot more enticing.

Leading Advantages of Solar Energy

#1 Considerably reduce and even remove your electric expenses

Whether you're a house owner, business, or nonprofit, electricity expenses can make up a big portion of your monthly expenditures. With a photovoltaic panel system, you'll generate totally free power for your system's entire 25+ year lifecycle. Even if you do not produce One Hundred Percent of the energy you take in, solar will decrease your utility costs and you'll still conserve a great deal of cash.

#2 Make a terrific return on your investment

Photovoltaic panels aren't a cost-- they're one of the finest methods to invest, with returns matching those of more traditional investments like stocks and bonds. Thanks to considerable electrical power expense cost savings, the average American house owner pays off their solar panel system in 7 to eight years and sees an ROI of 20 percent or more.

#3 Secure against increasing energy expenses

Among the most clear cut advantages of photovoltaic panels is the ability to hedge utility prices. In the previous 10 years, property electrical power rates have gone up by approximately 3 percent annually. By buying a solar energy system now, you can repair your electricity rate and secure against unforeseeable boosts in electrical energy expenses. If you're a company or house owner with rising and falling money flow, going solar also helps you better forecast and handle your expenditures.

#4 Increase your property value

Several studies have actually found that homes geared up with solar energy systems have higher home worths and offer quicker than non-solar houses. Appraisers are progressively taking solar installations into consideration as they value houses at the time of a sale, and as homebuyers end up being more informed about solar, demand for properties geared up with photovoltaic panel systems will continue to grow.

#5 Increase U.S. energy independence

The sun is a near-infinite source of energy and an essential element of attaining energy independence in the United States. By increasing our capacity to create electricity from the sun, we can also insulate our nation from cost fluctuations in worldwide energy markets.

#6 Create jobs and help your regional economy

According to The Solar Structure, the solar industry added tasks at a rate nearly 12 times faster than the total U.S. economy in 2015, representing 1.2 percent of all tasks in the country. This development is anticipated to continue. Since solar-related tasks tend to be higher paying and can not be outsourced, they are a considerable factor to the United States economy.

#7 Protect the environment

Solar is a terrific method to decrease your carbon footprint. Structures are accountable for 38 percent of all carbon emissions in the U.S., and going solar can considerably decrease that number. A typical residential solar panel system will eliminate 3 to four lots of carbon emissions each year-- the equivalent of planting over 100 trees yearly.

#8 Demonstrate your commitment to sustainability

Sustainability and corporate social duty are important elements of an organization's culture and worths. They likewise produce bottom line results. Increasingly, customers and communities are acknowledging and rewarding organisations that decide to operate properly. Organisations are discovering that "green" credentials are an effective chauffeur of customer acquiring choices, creating goodwill and enhancing business outcomes.

#9 Start Saving from Day 1

Solar purchase power agreements (PPAs) and solar leasing has made it possible for homeowners to go solar for little or no loan down.

Many homeowners pick to fund their solar panels with one of the "pay-as-you-go" funding options. This implies that a third-party company-- the solar supplier-- owns the planetary system and takes care of installation, upkeep, monitoring and repairs. You merely pay the solar company for electrical power-- less than you would've paid the utility business.

As of June 2013, 75% of all American houses have access to pay-as-you-go solar.

#10. Solar is a Secure Investment

The energy companies are well-known for their varying and unreliable electricity rates. There is plainly an upward pattern.

With solar panels and simple math, we can calculate just how much electrical power will be produced, and most notably, at exactly what price, for at least the next Twenty Years (fixed energy costs).

Frequently Asked Questions

What'S The Life Expectancy For New Solar Panels?
Solar Generating Plants Are Popping Up All Over The Country. The People That Back These Plants Seem To Keep This Question A Hidden Secret.

Hey Dinkylinker, Mark and Ed are correct on this one. It isn't a hidden secret either, it's just that the warranties on these things have been around for so long that nobody talks about them much.

Solar electric, or "photovoltiac" panels are generally warrantied to deliver 90% of their rated power for 25 or 30 years. You can go to the manufacturers websites and read this, try looking for Siemens, BP Solar, Kyocera and Sharp models. The way the manufacturers decide on these warranty lenghts is by doing long term testing. Generally the warranty period is about half what the actual life expectancy is, so it isn't uncommon for panels to produce at least 80% of their rated power for 50 years today. We have a 1.4 kw solar array on our garage roof that is about 11 years old now, and to be honest, with our data logging equipment, I've not been able to measure any loss in performance over that time. They probably put out about 98% or what they did 11 years ago, we just can't see the change yet. Two years ago, on a routine check, I discovered that one panel was not putting out it's rated voltage, and therefore was not actually charging the battery bank at all. After some phone calls, it was discovered that the panel, and 2 others were under a recall from Kyocera for bad solder joints inside the panel. They sent me brand new replacement panels, paid for round trip shipping and added a few hundred dollars for me to pay my installer to change them out. They definitely stood behind their warranty.

A really good place to learn more about this is Home Power magazine, the only periodical that gets into the nuts and bolts of homegrown electricity. I'll put the link and some others below for you. Take care, Rudydoo

Are Solar Panels Damage Resistant?
How Well Do They Deal With Hail Damage And Snow Acummulation?

You might want to do some shopping around for solar panels that can tolerate the climate in your area, but generally I would say that they can probably hold up to normal inclement weather, since they are made to be placed outside.

One of my grandfather's friends has used solar panels to power his entire house for some time now, and living in Appalachia, he sees all kinds of temperature extremes and sometimes some pretty heavy snow accumulation, so neither of those should really be a problem. Hail, on the other hand, might cause some trouble if you don't shelter the panels before a big storm. Since solar panels are a fairly sizeable investment, you might want to do some research on what to do with them during inclement weather.

Why The African Countries That Have Huge Deserts And So Much Sun Don'T Cover Those Areas With Solar Panels?

I am no expert but I think the sand storms, extreme wind and the temperatures falling below minus values at night are factors preventing using solar energy in Africa.
I don't think the reason is economical as other users have mentioned because there are some rich nations that have deserts but yet again they don't use solar panels.

Any Help Financially To Buy Solar Panels?
Interested In Buying Solar Panels To Save On Electric Bill.Any Government Help Plans?

Yes, there are tax and other incentives to installing solar panels, both electric and thermal (hot water). In the USA, the tax credit for residential solar is 30%, plus whatever your particular state offers, if anything.

Look up your state on:

Also, realize, that installing solar is generally not an instant-save proposition. You pay thousands or tens of thousands of dollars to get the system installed, then it pays you back over the years. You need to talk with a local installer to see if the financial case makes sense in your situation.

Wind Energy Or Solar Power?
I Am Just About To Build A House And Was Wondering Due To The Nature Of Unreliable Limited Supply Of Electricity And Instant Shortages, When Considering A Off Grid Or Grid Connect Power System; The Two Main Choices For Renewable Energy Equipment Are Wind Turbines And Solar Panels. So Which Is The Superior For A Mountainous Region In West Coast Of Africa, Wind Energy Or Solar Power?

Obviously, solar would have no moving parts. Wind turbines for residential use tend to be around 700 watts while it's common to have more wattage in solar panels however, the best solution would be to have both as wind tends to blow at night so by having both, you draw less heavily on your batteries. Note many offgrid homes use an absorption refrigerator or freezer running on a propane tank buried in the yard rather than risk losing all the food due to a few cloudy days in a row. Of course, if you have a generator with enough fuel storage ( perhaps a propane tank buried in the yard for a trifuel generator ), you would have a suitable backup for cloudy days.

You may want to consider Nickel Iron batteries, they tolerate abuse better than lead acid and can be discharged completely.
