What Our Customers are Saying

"We found all of the employees with whom we in contact from the sales representative to the installers to be knowledgeable and professional. All our questions were answered satisfactorily which is why we decided panels installed. We were also impressed with the company’s A+ rating by the Better Business Bureau.” – Pat S. – Boston

"Our first two bills were approximately $300.00 less than before and our third bill, just received was down about $250.00 from what we were paying! We think it is fantastic!" - William R. - Waltham MA

"They did a wonderful job on my system and I would recommend them to my family and friends!" - Georg S. - Chicopee MA

I cannot express my gratitude for going forward with solar panels. From the initial meeting to discuss the possibility to the techs who eventually installed them. But most of all, it is the savings we have experienced. That first month was unbelievable. Solar plus our other electric source combined was less than our usual monthly expense. During the summer when our electric usage is higher because of the air conditioning, our monthly expense was still less than what we have paid with past summer usage. And if that’s not enough…our present electricity is primarily supplied by the solar panels. We have been building up a reserve with our other electricity source and will be able to draw from that all winter when our panels wont’t generate as much electricity. It’s a win-win situation that we’re just thrilled over. Having a fixed rate locked in is another great feature for savings.” – Virgil T. – Westport MA

About Solar Energy

Solar power is energy from the sun that is transformed into thermal or electrical energy.

Solar energy is the cleanest and most abundant renewable resource source available, and the United States has some of the richest solar resources worldwide. Modern innovation can harness this energy for a variety of usages, consisting of producing electricity, supplying light or a comfortable interior environment, and heating water for domestic, commercial, or industrial usage.

Solar Benefits

Solar power makes it possible for homeowner to utilize the sun to power everyday life: running your air conditioner, washing clothing, viewing TELEVISION, cooking dinner. All while lowering your carbon footprint, and without burning nonrenewable fuel sources or putting a stress on the electrical grid. And while the environmental benefits of solar power are significant, lots of homeowners find that the benefit, distinct functions, and cost savings of owning a solar power system are much more alluring.

Top Ten Advantages of Solar Energy

#1 Drastically lower or even remove your electric bills

Whether you're a property owner, business, or not-for-profit, electrical energy costs can comprise a big part of your monthly expenses. With a solar panel system, you'll produce totally free power for your system's entire 25+ year lifecycle. Even if you do not produce One Hundred Percent of the energy you consume, solar will minimize your energy costs and you'll still conserve a lot of cash.

#2 Make an excellent return on your investment

Solar panels aren't an expense-- they're one of the very best ways to invest, with returns matching those of more standard investments like stocks and bonds. Thanks to significant electrical power expense cost savings, the typical American property owner pays off their photovoltaic panel system in 7 to eight years and sees an ROI of 20 percent or more.

#3 Secure against increasing energy costs

One of the most clear cut benefits of photovoltaic panels is the ability to hedge energy costs. In the past 10 years, domestic electrical energy rates have gone up by approximately three percent yearly. By investing in a solar energy system now, you can repair your electrical power rate and safeguard versus unforeseeable increases in electrical power expenses. If you're a company or property owner with fluctuating capital, going solar likewise assists you better projection and handle your expenses.

#4 Boost your home worth

Numerous research studies have actually discovered that homes equipped with solar energy systems have higher residential or commercial property values and sell faster than non-solar houses. Appraisers are progressively taking solar setups into factor to consider as they value homes at the time of a sale, and as homebuyers become more informed about solar, demand for residential or commercial properties equipped with photovoltaic panel systems will continue to grow.

#5 Increase U.S. energy independence

The sun is a near-infinite source of energy and an essential part of accomplishing energy independence in the United States. By increasing our capacity to generate electrical energy from the sun, we can also insulate our country from rate fluctuations in global energy markets.

#6 Create jobs and assist your regional economy

Inning accordance with The Solar Structure, the solar market included jobs at a rate nearly 12 times faster than the general U.S. economy in 2015, representing 1.2 percent of all tasks in the country. This growth is expected to continue. Since solar-related jobs have the tendency to be greater paying and can not be contracted out, they are a considerable factor to the U.S. economy.

#7 Secure the environment

Solar is an excellent method to reduce your carbon footprint. Structures are accountable for 38 percent of all carbon emissions in the U.S., and going solar can substantially decrease that number. A normal residential solar panel system will eliminate 3 to 4 tons of carbon emissions each year-- the equivalent of planting over 100 trees each year.

#8 Show your commitment to sustainability

Sustainability and corporate social duty are necessary elements of an organization's culture and values. They likewise produce bottom line outcomes. Increasingly, consumers and communities are recognizing and rewarding businesses that opt to operate responsibly. Organisations are finding that "green" qualifications are a powerful motorist of consumer getting decisions, producing goodwill and enhancing business outcomes.

#9 Start Saving from Day 1

Solar purchase power agreements (PPAs) and solar leasing has made it possible for homeowners to go solar for little or no loan down.

Numerous house owners decide to finance their photovoltaic panels with one of the "pay-as-you-go" funding alternatives. This implies that a third-party business-- the solar company-- owns the solar system and looks after installation, upkeep, monitoring and repairs. You simply pay the solar provider for electricity-- less than you would've paid the energy business.

As of June 2013, 75% of all American homes have access to pay-as-you-go solar.

#10. Solar is a Secure Investment

The utility companies are infamous for their fluctuating and unreliable electrical power prices. There is clearly an upward pattern.

With solar panels and easy mathematics, we can determine just how much electricity will be generated, and most importantly, at what price, for at least the next Twenty Years (repaired energy costs).

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Solar Panel Output Rippled Or Smooth?
Hi, I'M Interested In Building Generator And Would Like To Ask For Help. I Plan On Building Everything Including Rotor And Stator. I Have 30A Mppt Battery Charger For Solar Panels. I Plan To Build My Generator To Be About 12V, And Use Rectifier To Convert Ac To Dc. Here Is The Question. Can I Directly Connect Wires From Rectifier To The Charger? Because The Dc Output From Generator Would Be Rippled And Not Smooth. Do I Need To Build Regulator Circuit That Could Handle More Current For Generator? Out Of Curiosity, Is The Output From Solar Panel Smooth Out? Thank You In Advance.

You can use a DC generator instead of the AC generator.

Or use a full wave bridge rectifier to produce about 12 volts DC with lots of ripple. A large capacitor can smooth that to about 15 volts DC.

If the output of the generator is 3 phase, such as an automobile alternator, then you can use a set of rectifiers connected as a full wave 3 phase rectifier, again as automobile alternators do (most have the rectifiers built into the case of the alternator). That DC output is much smoother and a smaller capacitor, or none, is needed.

A regulator would just waste power.

The question is: an MMPT (Maximum power point tracking) controller is made for solar panels and adjusts the load to optimize the power from the panels. It will not work well with a generator, unless it has a setting that turns off the MMPT part of it. And then the second question is: how much ripple can it handle? Only the manufacturer can tell you that.

If you are just using the generator to charge a lead acid battery, you can use a regulator such as automobiles use to control the charge of the battery, and skip the MMPT.

edit: a battery acts like a huge capacitor, so if the generator is feeding the battery directly or via a simple charge controller or auto regulator, then you don't need any caps at all.

As to the MMPT, again, you have to ask the manufacturer or read the manual.

3-phase FW rectifier requires 6 diodes, see link.

To Help The Environment Don'T You Think We Should Have Cars Run On Solar Power Instead Of Gas?
To Help The Environment Don'T You Think We Should Have Cars Run On Solar Power Instead Of Gas? I Mean Not Only Would It Be Healthier For The Environment But It Would Keep Gas Prices Down Too And The Energy Would Be Coming From A Long Lasting Energy Source If We Take Care Of It Right The Only Would Be For People Who Work Late When The Sun Goes Down , How Would They Get Home?

It sounds great, but it's currently impossible. The existing solar panels aren't strong enough to collect enough energy to run the car, even if you covered the entire car with them. Remember, you're trying to move 2000 lbs or more of metal and plastic. If the panels could collect enough energy, they could store it in a battery, like electric cars do now, and that would allow people to get home when the sun went down, but until we can get the solar technology to work, the whole idea fails.

What'S Going On With The Wires?
My Mother Has Two Sets Of Hummingbird Shaped Lights, They Are Solar Powered. The Thing That Connects The Lights To The Solar Panel Is A Wire ( I'M Guessing Its Copper) That Is Coated In A Soft Green Plastic. Today I Went Outside To Mow The Lawn. Before I Started, I Noticed That The Wires Were Cut, However They Weren'T Cut Cleanly. I Assumed They Had Been Chewed. When My Mother Came Home After I Finished The Lawn, I Was Afraid To Tell Her Because I Thought She Would Go Ballistic On Me (She Did). The Wire Was Only Cut In A Single Place And The Only Animals That I Think Could'Ve Done It Are Eastern Cottontail Rabbits Or Mice. Rabbits Are My Guess Because We See Them Very Often But I Know There Are A Lot Of Mice Where I Live In Eastern Pa. This Isn'T The First Time Something Like This Has Happened

You can either repair or replace the wire, repairing is fine as long as you waterproof it to some extent (being outside). Just strip off some insulation on the broken wire, tie it together and wrap it (shrink wrap or tape, both cheap). The wire to replace it isn't expensive either at hardware stores. Either way it's a very easy repair you can do yourself.

If it's a long stretch of wire on the ground and you don't want anything to eat it again, you can run the wire through some small diameter pipe and bury it just under the surface of the ground.

Edit- I was thinking a larger solar panel light setup, not the ornamental things. Disregard the pipe part, the rest still applies.

If You Need A Permit For Solar Power, Are Solar Kits Technically Illegal?
I Don'T Know About Each Other State, But Here In Georgia You Need A Permit To Legally Use Solar Energy. So Does That Mean Buying Those Cheap Little Solar Power Kits On Amazon Are Technically Illegal To Use? I Just Want To Perpetually Power My Laptop Outside. Is That So Hard To Ask? T_T Is It Illegal? Thank You.

You need a permit for any renovation to your house such as installing panels, any grid tied inverter must be installed by a professional installer approved by the utilities, a grid tied system requires an agreement with the utilities. You do not need a permit for temporary folding camping panels to power or recharge your laptop however you will find it difficult to keep your laptop powered continuously and you may only have a few hours of use per day. A MacBook Pro would need the 80 watt to run, 40 watts could charge it when not in use.

Solar Panel System Without Batteries?
Is It Possible To Skip The Battery In A Solar Panel System? I Know I Wont Be Able To Power Appliances When The Sun Is Not Shining, But Can It Be Done? If It Is Possible, Do I Just Simply Hook Up The Charge Controller To The Inverter? Thanks In Advance

It is possible although it is not recommended. I have done this with a small power inverter and a solar panel. I used it to charge a phone with a 110 charger. The inverter kicked in and out based on solar output from charger. It did need an auto reboot inverter though. www.OutsideSupply.com should be able to help. http://www.outsidesupply.com/definitive-power-inverter-guide.aspx
