What Our Customers are Saying

"We found all of the employees with whom we in contact from the sales representative to the installers to be knowledgeable and professional. All our questions were answered satisfactorily which is why we decided panels installed. We were also impressed with the company’s A+ rating by the Better Business Bureau.” – Pat S. – Boston

"Our first two bills were approximately $300.00 less than before and our third bill, just received was down about $250.00 from what we were paying! We think it is fantastic!" - William R. - Waltham MA

"They did a wonderful job on my system and I would recommend them to my family and friends!" - Georg S. - Chicopee MA

I cannot express my gratitude for going forward with solar panels. From the initial meeting to discuss the possibility to the techs who eventually installed them. But most of all, it is the savings we have experienced. That first month was unbelievable. Solar plus our other electric source combined was less than our usual monthly expense. During the summer when our electric usage is higher because of the air conditioning, our monthly expense was still less than what we have paid with past summer usage. And if that’s not enough…our present electricity is primarily supplied by the solar panels. We have been building up a reserve with our other electricity source and will be able to draw from that all winter when our panels wont’t generate as much electricity. It’s a win-win situation that we’re just thrilled over. Having a fixed rate locked in is another great feature for savings.” – Virgil T. – Westport MA

About Solar Energy

Solar power is energy from the sun that is transformed into thermal or electrical energy.

Solar energy is the cleanest and most abundant renewable resource source available, and the United States has some of the richest solar resources worldwide. Modern innovation can harness this energy for a variety of usages, consisting of producing electricity, supplying light or a comfortable interior environment, and heating water for domestic, commercial, or industrial usage.

Solar Benefits

Solar power makes it possible for homeowner to use the sun to power everyday life: running your air conditioner, cleaning clothing, watching TV, cooking supper. All while minimizing your carbon footprint, and without burning nonrenewable fuel sources or putting a pressure on the electrical grid. And while the environmental advantages of solar power are significant, lots of residents find that the convenience, unique features, and cost savings of owning a solar power system are a lot more alluring.

Leading Advantages of Solar Energy

#1 Significantly lower or perhaps remove your electrical expenses

Whether you're a house owner, service, or not-for-profit, electrical energy expenses can make up a large portion of your regular monthly costs. With a photovoltaic panel system, you'll generate totally free power for your system's whole 25+ year lifecycle. Even if you do not produce 100 percent of the energy you take in, solar will lower your energy expenses and you'll still conserve a great deal of loan.

#2 Make a great return on your financial investment

Photovoltaic panels aren't a cost-- they're one of the very best ways to invest, with returns rivaling those of more standard financial investments like stocks and bonds. Thanks to substantial electrical power expense savings, the average American homeowner settles their solar panel system in seven to 8 years and sees an ROI of 20 percent or more.

#3 Secure versus increasing energy costs

One of the most clear cut advantages of solar panels is the capability to hedge energy prices. In the previous 10 years, residential electricity prices have gone up by approximately 3 percent yearly. By investing in a solar energy system now, you can fix your electrical power rate and secure versus unpredictable boosts in electricity expenses. If you're a company or house owner with changing capital, going solar likewise helps you much better projection and manage your expenses.

#4 Increase your house value

Several research studies have actually found that houses equipped with solar energy systems have higher home worths and sell quicker than non-solar homes. Appraisers are increasingly taking solar installations into consideration as they value houses at the time of a sale, and as homebuyers become more educated about solar, need for residential or commercial properties geared up with solar panel systems will continue to grow.

#5 Boost U.S. energy independence

The sun is a near-infinite source of energy and an essential component of achieving energy self-reliance in the United States. By increasing our capability to create electrical power from the sun, we can also insulate our nation from rate fluctuations in global energy markets.

#6 Develop jobs and assist your regional economy

Inning accordance with The Solar Foundation, the solar industry added jobs at a rate almost 12 times faster than the overall U.S. economy in 2015, representing 1.2 percent of all jobs in the nation. This development is anticipated to continue. Because solar-related jobs tend to be higher paying and can not be outsourced, they are a substantial factor to the United States economy.

#7 Secure the environment

Solar is a terrific method to minimize your carbon footprint. Buildings are accountable for 38 percent of all carbon emissions in the United States, and going solar can substantially decrease that number. A normal residential photovoltaic panel system will remove three to four loads of carbon emissions each year-- the equivalent of planting over 100 trees annually.

#8 Show your dedication to sustainability

Sustainability and business social responsibility are necessary parts of an organization's culture and values. They also produce bottom line outcomes. Progressively, consumers and communities are recognizing and rewarding services that opt to operate properly. Businesses are finding that "green" credentials are a powerful driver of consumer getting choices, producing goodwill and enhancing service results.

#9 Start Conserving from Day 1

Solar purchase power agreements (PPAs) and solar leasing has actually made it possible for homeowners to go solar for little or no cash down.

Numerous homeowners choose to finance their photovoltaic panels with among the "pay-as-you-go" funding choices. This implies that a third-party company-- the solar company-- owns the planetary system and looks after installation, upkeep, tracking and repair works. You simply pay the solar supplier for electricity-- less than you would've paid the energy business.

As of June 2013, 75% of all American houses have access to pay-as-you-go solar.

#10. Solar is a Secure Financial investment

The energy companies are infamous for their fluctuating and undependable electricity rates. There is plainly an upward trend.

With solar panels and simple math, we can determine how much electricity will be created, and most importantly, at what rate, for at least the next Twenty Years (fixed energy costs).

Financing

Frequently Asked Questions

How Can I Power Led Light Strings With A Solar Panel?
I'm Interested In Purchasing Some Led Icicle-Style Light Strings To Go Around The House And Was Thinking It Would Be Nice If They Were Solar Powered To Cut Back Even More On Energy Consumption. I've Seen Icicle-Style Led Strings With A Regular A/C Plug And Single-Strand Led Lights Attached To A Small Solar Panel On A Garden Stake But No Solar Powered Icicle-Style Led Strings. Is There An Easy Way To Get Both The Solar Power Feature And The Style Leds I Want? The Icicle-Style Led Strings Draw About 5W Each And I'm Not Sure How Many I'll Need, Probably 4-6 Strings. Thanks!

Those LED lights use so little power, I'm afraid there is not much to be saved by powering them off solar. If solar was all you had, then it might be worth tinkering, but I'd say just plug them in to the wall, and if you're not using them, turn them off.

1000 Watt Solar Solution For Advertising?
I Have A N Advertising Panel That Consumes 1000 Watts Needed To Be Working For 9 Hours At Night. How Many Solar Panels And Batteries Will I Need For This Solution. This Is In Dubai So Sunlight Is Not An Issue.

What about during the daytime, does it have to operate then as well. 9 hours of night time use would be 9,000 watt hours of energy which at 12 Vdc would be 750 amp hours. Anybody just using watts for how much to store is displaying a very basic level of ignorance. However there are two issues with lead acid batteries, efficiency and deep discharges. The efficiency of a lead acid battery is 95% at discharging but only 50% at charging, therefore you would use up 790 AH ( 9,473 WH ) of your batteries each night but would need to produce 18,948 watt hours per day from the solar panels, to get the wattage you need, you would divide this by the number of useful hours of sunlight in your area which would be far less than the hours of sunlight unless you had a tracking mount ( in southern US states, it's 6 hours of useful sunlight per day ). The other problem is that lead acid batteries do not like deep discharges, indeed their marketed useful life is based on no more than 20% discharges hence to get the lifespan you expect, the batteries should have five times the diurnal usage which would mean 3,950 AH of batteries.

A grid tied system would easily be a third of the cost as the panels would not need to be doubled and you would avoid the costs of the batteries but if you must use batteries, nickel iron batteries might be a good idea as they can be discharged completely without damaging the battery.

Don't forget that you would also need to add the power needed by the panel to the solar panels if the panel is to also be used during the day.

I Have 265W Solar Panel, How Meny 12V Batteries Do I Need For Storage?

You are approaching the problem backwards. Even utilities don't build power plants and then decice how many houses they can connect.

Start first with the demand. Determine how much of the demand cannot be satisfied directly by solar panels and then balance the cost of a back up system with the cost of energy storage.

You might need 1kwhr of energy per day. This would seem to equal about 4 of your panels but because of the way your panels are rated it could be as much as 6 or 8 panels. You might purchase a back up generator for 500 watts and need to provide 500 watts from batteries. A watt is equal to volts x amps. 500 watts / 12 volts tells us that your batteries will have to provide about 42 amps. Batteries are rated in amp-hours. A 42 amp-hour battery could provide this rating for one hour. Inverters and chargers will use up some of the power.

Solar Panels With Snow?
Hi There. I Live In Colorado, And We Obviously Get A Ton Of Snow There. I Im Looking Into A Solar Power System For My Home, And I Am Wondering If The Snow Will Accumulate On The Panels, Or If, Because Of The Energy Passing Through, It Will Melt On Contact? By The Way We Get About 20' Of Snow Each Year, And It Comes On Often. I Will Also Be Putting Them On My Roof. Thanks For Your Help.

Good news and not so good news. You need to be able to access the panels to clean the snow off. There is not any heat generated other than the heat of the sun hitting the black colour - which would amount to some melting ability during a sunny day - but it isn't sunny when it snows! Apparently, solar panels work better in the cold and where snow can reflect light so to increase the amount of light - photons - hitting the panel. Will A Solar Panel Generate More Electricity Facing The Sun Than Not, Or Does It Not Matter?
Like... If A Solar Panel Is Facing The Sun Would It Generate More Than If It Wasn'T Quite Facing The Sun? Or Does It Not Matter Whether A Solar Panel Is Facing Toward Or Away? I Mean, The Sun Produces Light, Yes, But Light Is Everywhere...

Abolutely the panel will generate the most energy when pointed directly toward the sun. There is a slight drop off with only a few degrees of error. If you are not loading the panel near capacity, it may not make much difference to you. But if you want to get every drop out of the panel, it is worth keeping them clean and constantly adjusted.

The incident light on the panel will be reduced by the cosine of the angle of the light source to the panel.

I lived for several years on a boat that used solar panels as the primary electrical power source. When that is your primary energy source, you learn to get the most from it.
