you're charging a 12v battery with a 24v solar panel and you likely have your charge controller set to 24v too(hopefully anyway), that's your problem.......you overcharged and broke the battery. only use identical voltages when working with any electricity. the reading you're getting is from the solar panels and the percentage drop is from lowering light levels and any remaining power storage the broken battery is capable of. to fix it, you just need to get 2 12v batteries and hook them up in series(positive to negative) to make a 24v battery bank able to handle your solar panel's voltage output and hook it up to your system like a big battery, that's about it.

What model panel? I seriously doubt that the Panel has a built in inverter. Most inverters are installed in the basement near the main electrical panel.
