Not exactly. We can not grow an infinite amount of wood unless we have water on the ground. Replanting alone does not work in drought stricken forest land. And then we have people trying to grow food interfering with the number of hectares available for forestry. There appears to be a competition for land and water.
Global warming causes our drought situation, but merely replanting trees does not solve it. Trees must have water to grow, to absorb CO2.
The trees already have lots of CO2. It is water they need.
Solar suffers from the problem of competition for land too. Now if we were covering all the desert regions of the world with solar panels, so that we do not create competition for food growing land we might be able to provide most of our current demand for electricity, but we need to be irrigating those arid lands, and growing trees on them. We can not remove CO2 from the atmosphere economically unless we deploy water and trees on land not already in crop production.
