About Solar Energy
Solar power is energy from the sun that is transformed into thermal or electrical energy.
Solar energy is the cleanest and most abundant renewable resource source available, and the United States has some of the richest solar resources worldwide. Modern innovation can harness this energy for a variety of usages, consisting of producing electricity, supplying light or a comfortable interior environment, and heating water for domestic, commercial, or industrial usage.
Solar power makes it possible for homeowner to utilize the sun to power daily life: running your a/c, washing clothing, enjoying TELEVISION, cooking supper. All while reducing your carbon footprint, and without burning nonrenewable fuel sources or putting a strain on the electrical grid. And while the environmental advantages of solar power are considerable, many homeowners discover that the convenience, unique features, and cost savings of owning a solar power system are even more enticing.
Leading Benefits of Solar Energy
#1 Dramatically reduce or perhaps eliminate your electric bills
Whether you're a property owner, business, or nonprofit, electrical energy costs can comprise a big portion of your monthly costs. With a photovoltaic panel system, you'll generate free power for your system's whole 25+ year lifecycle. Even if you do not produce One Hundred Percent of the energy you consume, solar will minimize your energy bills and you'll still conserve a lot of cash.
#2 Earn a fantastic return on your financial investment
Solar panels aren't an expense-- they're one of the very best ways to invest, with returns matching those of more traditional investments like stocks and bonds. Thanks to significant electrical power costs savings, the average American house owner settles their photovoltaic panel system in 7 to 8 years and sees an ROI of 20 percent or more.
#3 Protect versus rising energy expenses
Among the most clear cut advantages of photovoltaic panels is the ability to hedge energy costs. In the past ten years, domestic electricity rates have actually increased by an average of 3 percent each year. By purchasing a solar energy system now, you can repair your electrical power rate and secure against unforeseeable increases in electrical energy costs. If you're an organisation or house owner with fluctuating capital, going solar also assists you much better forecast and handle your expenses.
#4 Boost your property value
Multiple studies have actually found that houses geared up with solar energy systems have higher property worths and sell more quickly than non-solar homes. Appraisers are increasingly taking solar setups into factor to consider as they value houses at the time of a sale, and as homebuyers become more informed about solar, demand for residential or commercial properties geared up with solar panel systems will continue to grow.
#5 Increase U.S. energy independence
The sun is a near-infinite source of energy and a key element of accomplishing energy independence in the United States. By increasing our capability to generate electrical power from the sun, we can also insulate our nation from rate variations in global energy markets.
#6 Develop jobs and assist your local economy
According to The Solar Structure, the solar market included jobs at a rate almost 12 times faster than the overall U.S. economy in 2015, representing 1.2 percent of all tasks in the country. This growth is expected to continue. Due to the fact that solar-related tasks have the tendency to be higher paying and can not be contracted out, they are a substantial contributor to the United States economy.
#7 Protect the environment
Solar is an excellent method to decrease your carbon footprint. Structures are accountable for 38 percent of all carbon emissions in the United States, and going solar can substantially reduce that number. A typical property photovoltaic panel system will get rid of 3 to 4 heaps of carbon emissions each year-- the equivalent of planting over 100 trees every year.
#8 Demonstrate your dedication to sustainability
Sustainability and corporate social responsibility are necessary parts of a company's culture and values. They also produce bottom line results. Significantly, customers and communities are recognizing and rewarding organisations that opt to run responsibly. Businesses are discovering that "green" credentials are an effective chauffeur of consumer buying choices, developing goodwill and improving service results.
#9 Start Saving from Day 1
Solar purchase power agreements (PPAs) and solar leasing has actually made it possible for house owners to go solar for little or no money down.
Numerous house owners select to finance their photovoltaic panels with one of the "pay-as-you-go" funding choices. This indicates that a third-party company-- the solar supplier-- owns the planetary system and takes care of setup, upkeep, monitoring and repairs. You just pay the solar provider for electricity-- less than you would've paid the utility business.
As of June 2013, 75% of all American homes have access to pay-as-you-go solar.
#10. Solar is a Secure Financial investment
The energy companies are well-known for their fluctuating and unreliable electrical power rates. There is plainly an upward pattern.
With solar panels and simple math, we can calculate just how much electrical power will be produced, and most notably, at what price, for at least the next Twenty Years (fixed energy expenses).
What are the various payment options?
We have many flexible purchasing agreements for customers who would like to install a new home solar system. There are three different payment options, making them a viable choice for customers of all budgets. The payment options include Lease, PPA, and Purchase.
- Low, fixed payments each month
- System insurance for 20 years, including maintenance
- Flexible end-of-term options, including system upgrade, lease extension, and free panel removal
Power Purchase Agreement (PPA)
- We own the solar panel system
- $0 down for installation
- Customers only pay for the solar energy that they use
- Customer pays for the system upfront and owns the system
- System monitoring and maintenance for 20 years
- Receive 30% federal tax credit
- See a return on investment within 7-10 years
What happens when the contract for my lease is finished?
We provide our customers with a few different options for when their lease contract is up. Customers can upgrade their equipment to the newest solar technology available, extend the agreement, or have the panels removed at no cost.
What is the warranty?
The Lease and PPA include a 20-year warranty during the lifetime of the system. This warranty exceeds that of most other solar installers’ warranties.
Frequently Asked Questions
What Is The Cost Of 1 Unit Electricity When Producing Electricity From Sun Light?
One Unit Means 1000Watt/Hour
I have recently been carrying out a project to make a realistic costing of solar power versus electricity from the national grid. Unfortunately, the figures do not look good,The cost of solar power is at least 5 times that of grid power. This project is to be installed on a holiday house that I am building. The ides was to be as "green" as possible, and use maximum renewable energy, but not to compromise my comfort and safety. I decided to use solar electricity for 1) lighting 2) operate low power consumers such as TVs, DVD recorder, 3) intermittent computeruse, etc.The proposed system designed by a local supplier was to have the bankof solar power cells on the roof, During the day this would charge a bank of batteries, which would allow consumption at night. This required two separate electrical installations, one for the solar system and the second for nonsolar appliances such as cookers, dishwasher, clothes washing machine, microwave, electric kettles, etc. Water will be heated by direct solar heaters , btut will pass through an electric hot water tank which will only operate when the solar heated feed water is not up to temperature - under noemal circumstances, this should not occur with any frequency.
But in the cases of bad weather when the battery charging was not optimal, there had to be a switch over system to allow operation of the normally solar powered appliances, lighting etc direct from the grid.
Allowing for amortization of the capital cost of the installation over a realistic time, say 10 years, the loss of interest on the capital, and the possible replacement of the battery system at least once during this time, the costs do not really justify going to a solar system. Under present conditions, based on cost only, solar is an expensive option,
It is incorrect to base any decision on the concept: Once the equipment is installed, the power is free. This is equivalent to arguing that power from a nuclear power station should be free because, once the plant is installed, the fuel costs are almost zero. I am very much in favour of solar heating, solarpower, etc, but at the present time, it is an expensive option.
About How Much Does It Cost Everytime I Charge My Cell Phone'S Battery?
Just Wondering.. Because I Just Bought A Solio Solar Charger And Wondering How Much I'Ll Save. I Didn'T Buy It So I Could Save Money, I Bought It Because I Wanted To Use Less Energy From The Grid. But I Am Just Wondering What Kind Of Energy I Will Be Saving. How Much Does It Costs To Charge My 3 Volt Cell Phone Battery One Time?
i dont think youll save a lot of energy...but its great to know that some people are using other "GREEN" alternatives to power their electronic devices.
SAVE EARTH AND FREE WILLY!
How Can The Demacratics Be For The Little People When They Don'T Care That Oil Prices Are @ $4.00 A Gallon?
Senate Republicans Have Threatened To Block Nearly All Other Bills Pending Before The August Recess If Democrats Refuse To Vote With Them On Expanding Offshore Drilling. We Need All Forms Of Energy To Be Explored And Yes My Friends It Also Means Drilling For Oil..Http://Thehill.Com/Leading-The-News/Senate-Gop-Hands-Dems-Oil-Ultimatum-2008-07-23.Html
You create a false premise in your argument. They vote for off shore drilling or they don't care about people. You fail to consider that they also care about the environment which ultimately effects the people.
They also perhaps care about a long term solution versus oil for another 1 to 10 years and then leaving the problem in the hands of the next generation.
I am not opposed to off shore drilling per se if it can done done safely. However, when it used as a reason to not expand alternative energy options then it becomes harmful.
Let's see politicians do something right (just this once) and approve drilling along with stimulus packages for cities that use a portion (even 25%) of their power needs from wind, solar, hydro, thermal, maybe even nuclear before we dump more oil and profits to corporate interest.
How Much Energy Does The Average American Use A Day?
I'm not sure that this is an easy question to honestly answer. We may be able to figure out how much energy is used in America, divide it by the number of people, and come up with an average. By definition, this would generate a number relating to an average amount.
But, where would you place the amount of energy "people use at work"? A heavy equipment operator probably uses more energy than a parts runner in a hybrid vehicle. A movie ticket taker probably uses more energy in their work space, the marque lights out front, than a landscape maintenance person. A milling machine operator certainly uses more energy than a seamstress. How do we count the building amenities like the heat and air conditioning in an office building versus the lack of it in a warehouse?
For the sake of argument, let us take the typical "American household". I am not convinced that we truly have a good picture of just how folks are living in their homes. Nor, do we particularly have a good current picture of how many people are living in any one household. I'm not convinced that we can particularly even use typical income levels as a category as so many people are now digging them selves out of debt and/or helping others. Further with aid programs from food assistance to medical assistance, government services, and private service providers all under budgetary constraints and reductions, I suspect that the average amount of energy used by many Americans is about to also reduce. The over-all average use may not change but, the number of people reducing their energy consumption is about to increase as a function of income.
I would also ask, what type of energy are you speaking of? We use electricity, natural gas, and oil in our homes. We use an assortment of energy for our vehicles. And, even those of use without solar panels often find positive uses for the amount of solar energy we do receive.
Energy Transformation Between Different Types Of Energy: Mechanical, Solar, Geothermal, Nuclear, Chemical &?
Thermal. I Am So Confused About All Of This, Please, Help! Finals Soon!
Concentrate on knowing what the word transformation means.
It means to undergo change from one type to another.
Lets relate everything in your list to a McDonalds Big Mac
To chew a Big Mac you expended Mechanical Energy......
The lettuce in the big mac grew in a field and solar energy was absorbed by the plant.
The solar energy came from the sun which is powered by nuclear energy.
To convert grass into meat chemical changes occurred inside the cow.
You happened to eat in Hilo Hawaii where 20% of the electricity comes from geothermal heat of the volcano, that gets transformed into electric energy to run the lights in the restaurant.
The food you consumed before you ate the big mac under went chemical changes to release energy so you had the energy to chew.
so on so forth
