About Solar Energy
Solar power is energy from the sun that is transformed into thermal or electrical energy.
Solar energy is the cleanest and most abundant renewable resource source available, and the United States has some of the richest solar resources worldwide. Modern innovation can harness this energy for a variety of usages, consisting of producing electricity, supplying light or a comfortable interior environment, and heating water for domestic, commercial, or industrial usage.
Solar power makes it possible for homeowner to utilize the sun to power everyday life: running your a/c unit, washing clothes, seeing TELEVISION, cooking dinner. All while reducing your carbon footprint, and without burning fossil fuels or putting a pressure on the electrical grid. And while the environmental benefits of solar power are considerable, many residents find that the benefit, special features, and cost savings of owning a solar power system are even more enticing.

Whether you're a property owner, business, or nonprofit, electrical energy expenses can comprise a large part of your month-to-month expenditures. With a photovoltaic panel system, you'll produce free power for your system's whole 25+ year lifecycle. Even if you do not produce One Hundred Percent of the energy you consume, solar will lower your energy expenses and you'll still save a great deal of money.
#2 Make a terrific return on your investment
Photovoltaic panels aren't a cost-- they are among the finest ways to invest, with returns matching those of more traditional investments like stocks and bonds. Thanks to considerable electrical energy costs cost savings, the average American homeowner pays off their solar panel system in 7 to eight years and sees an ROI of 20 percent or more.
#3 Protect versus rising energy costs
Among the most clear cut advantages of solar panels is the capability to hedge energy rates. In the past 10 years, property electrical energy prices have actually gone up by approximately 3 percent every year. By purchasing a solar energy system now, you can repair your electrical power rate and safeguard against unforeseeable boosts in electrical power expenses. If you're a company or homeowner with rising and falling money flow, going solar also helps you much better projection and handle your costs.
#4 Boost your home worth
Multiple research studies have found that houses geared up with solar energy systems have higher property values and sell quicker than non-solar houses. Appraisers are significantly taking solar installations into consideration as they value houses at the time of a sale, and as homebuyers become more educated about solar, demand for homes equipped with solar panel systems will continue to grow.
#5 Boost U.S. energy independence
The sun is a near-infinite source of energy and a key component of accomplishing energy independence in the United States. By increasing our capability to generate electricity from the sun, we can also insulate our country from rate changes in international energy markets.
#6 Develop jobs and help your regional economy
Inning accordance with The Solar Structure, the solar market included jobs at a rate nearly 12 times faster than the general U.S. economy in 2015, representing 1.2 percent of all tasks in the country. This development is anticipated to continue. Due to the fact that solar-related jobs have the tendency to be higher paying and can not be outsourced, they are a substantial factor to the United States economy.
#7 Secure the environment
Solar is a great way to decrease your carbon footprint. Buildings are accountable for 38 percent of all carbon emissions in the U.S., and going solar can substantially reduce that number. A common domestic photovoltaic panel system will eliminate three to 4 lots of carbon emissions each year-- the equivalent of planting over 100 trees every year.
#8 Demonstrate your dedication to sustainability
Sustainability and business social obligation are essential parts of a company's culture and worths. They also produce bottom line results. Increasingly, consumers and neighborhoods are acknowledging and rewarding organisations that select to operate responsibly. Businesses are discovering that "green" qualifications are an effective driver of customer getting decisions, creating goodwill and enhancing service outcomes.
#9 Start Saving from Day 1
Solar purchase power contracts (PPAs) and solar leasing has actually made it possible for property owners to go solar for little or no loan down.
Numerous house owners decide to finance their photovoltaic panels with among the "pay-as-you-go" financing choices. This suggests that a third-party company-- the solar service provider-- owns the planetary system and looks after setup, maintenance, tracking and repairs. You merely pay the solar supplier for electricity-- less than you would've paid the utility business.
As of June 2013, 75% of all American houses have access to pay-as-you-go solar.
#10. Solar is a Secure Investment
The utility companies are well-known for their varying and unreliable electrical power rates. There is plainly an upward trend.
With solar panels and basic mathematics, we can compute what does it cost? electrical energy will be generated, and most importantly, at exactly what cost, for a minimum of the next Twenty Years (repaired energy expenses).

Frequently Asked Questions
Are Solar Panels Dangerous?
Ok I Read That Some Material Known As &Quot;Cadmium Telluride&Quot; Is Poisonous When Exposed To Extreme Heat And Surely Solar Panels Are &Quot;Exposed&Quot; To. Also - Said Material Is Used In Many Solar Panels? 10X.
Very clean, very safe! I wouldn't sleep next to one at night or try and lick one but in every day to day life they are absolutely fine and about as much danger as the nearest highway!
Where Can I Get High Efficiency, Small Solar Panels?
I'M Talking Highest Current Possible (I'M Looking For 500 Ma And Up Total) And Voltage Between 4.5 And 9 Volts At A Small Size. Basically The Best Possible. I Am Willing To Pay Whatever Price. I Can Either Connect Small Ones Together Or Use One Big Panel, Either Way Can'T Be Much Bigger Than About 200 Mm X 150 Mm. What I'M Seeing Just Doesn'T Cut It. Http://Www.Futurlec.Com/ Is The Only Site With Decent Ones But It Ships From Overseas And I Need These Asap.
That's 6" x 8", or 1/3 square foot. 10-12 watts per square foot is easily achievable with standard silicon cells, so you should be able to string together something that will satisfy the low end of your power range. Have you tried Electronic Goldmine?
If cost is really no object, you can inquire at SpectraLabs about multilayer cells. I believe they're running about $250-300 a watt, but don't know if you could make arrangements to buy the small quantity you want. You may have to buy a box of 100.
Planning A Motorcycle Road Trip, Is There A Solar Charger I Can Attach To My Backpack To Charge My Devices?
I Will Be Using My Phone As A Gps, I'Ve Got Plenty Of Data So That'S No Issue, But I Was Wondering If You Guys Could Recommend A Solar Panel Product That Has A Usb Output That Would Be Good To Attach To The Back Of My Backpack Or Motorcycle To Charge My Phone As I Drive During The Day. I Don'T Mean Some Expensive Backpack That Has A Solar Panel Built Into It, I Mean Something I Could Attach 4 Corners To The Back Of A Military Style Backpack And That Can Handle Some Wind Preferably. I'Ll Either Have It On The Backpack Or Strapped Down On The Tail End Of The Bike. Thanks A Lot Guys^^
How about adding 12v receptacle to the bike and using standard car charger - - not too difiicult - you can either switch with ignition or run it strraight to the battery. I did the latter and use the port to attach my battery tender as well as power a GPS or monitor battery voltage. Pretty handy really.
If you go the solar panel route make sure it is waterproof-and you are at a stopping point on rainy days before the phone/gps gives out.
Are Solar Panels Worth It?
The Horrible Events In Japan Have Triggered A New Thinking In Me. I Try To Find A Way To Switch Over To Renewable Energies But The Web Tells Me That It'S Expensive As Hell To Get A Solar Panel On The Roof. Are Solar Panels Worth The Cost Or Should I Stay With Nuclear Energies?
Thanks For Answering!
I totally agree with you that the nuclear accident should effect the people's opinion concerning that opportunity to recover energy.
A friend of mine lives in Scottsdale, AZ and he had set up his own solar panel. As far as I know, he didn't pay that much on it. If you ask company's services you probably pay up to 20K bucks but in my opinion those services are scam and you'd better through your money out of the window.
My friend is totally satisfied with his solar panel. He built his solar panels on his own and saved a bunch of money. You don't have to be that good at handicrafts. He watched DIY instructions. All in all he invested just a few hundreds of dollars. My friend gave me the web address he purchased all the information from. Take a look at the credits below. I posted the link there. If you like to, I can give you my friend's phone number, he agreed to share some information with you.
Hope that I could help you =)
How Many Solar Panels To Compete With Thorium Reactor?
People Proclaim That Renewable Energy Is Best, Such As Solar Panels... But How Many Solar Panels Would It Take To Be Comparable To One 1000 Mega Watt Thorium Reactor?
1600Kw per acre at maximum efficiency, some solar farms have been only able to generate at 37% (during sunlight hours) so far, so you do the math.
That is not counting all the cleaning and maintainance they require.
