Hi Andrew...A 1200 mah battery is the same thing as a 1.2 AH battery, just divide by 1000. Assuming the phone uses up this battery in 6 hours, in theory, it should take rougly 35/1.2 = roughly 30 times as long. 30 X 6 hours is 180 hours, or 7 days. There are a couple problems here though. Mainly, since the phone is using 3.7 volts instead of 12, you have to put the car charger cord between the phone and the car battery. What you are really doing is charging the phones battery with the car battery, and there are certain losses involved. The other issue is that since the car battery is 12 volts instead of 3.7, it really has 3 times the voltage, which means taking the 180 hours and multiplying it by another 3. So in theory again, you could streatch it to 540 hours, or 3 weeks. The problem here is we don't know how efficient the car cord is at converting the voltage. If it is using a simple zener diode and resistor voltage regulator combination, most of that additional voltage will be wasted anyway.
There are only two ways to actually get at the number you want. One is to use a digital multimeter reading amp between the car battery and the phone cord. Once you know the actual amp draw, divide it into 30 to get hours of endurance, then take the hours times .8 to get the number of hours from a full battery that the device will likely work before the battery voltage gets too low. The second way, and probably the easiest is to just start with a full battery, and plug the phone in, then see how long it lasts. In my experience, nothing beats the test drive for good data.
If you just want a good guess, go with the 1 week, it will likely be close to that taking all the variables into account. If you want to keep that car battery running all the time with solar, at that current draw, a 12 volt nominal panel rated at 25 watts would be plenty.
