It really depends on where you live, but under most circumstances Solar Energy would be the best bet.

The Sun shines everyday (except of course during certain seasons in certain places; this is the exception)

Wind may or may not blow everyday (except of course for specific areas where wind is more definitive)

What I did when I was trying to find a renewable resource to add supplemental energy to my home, was to monitor the weather and take a statistical analysis of what happened. Its a lot of work, but it is a lot of money to have a renewable energy source.

Once you find out the averages for both, then find each of the forms of energy that fits into your budget and compare how much energy would be produced from each one.


That is the only way you could properly have a definitive answer to this question.

How Does Energy Consumption Affect The Environment?

Energy consumption means that energy must be produced. Unfortunatly we currently don't have a way to produce energy (for the masses) that does not have a negative impact on the environment. Coal Burining creates electricity but pollutes the air HEAVILY! Nuclear doesn't pollute the air but has storage issues. Oil and natural gas are cleaner but still produce carbons. Producing gasoline for cars also takes energy from power sources. Buring gas pollutes the air as well. Solar and wind energy do work but are currently not sustainable for our needs.

Solar energy is the energy radiating form the sun that humans have learned to harness and use to power numerous things. You may have heard of solar panels for houses. These are panels that are used as a power source for houses as opposed to an electrical system. But a lot of houses use both.

The thing is solar energy is abundant. Why because the sun is always there and always giving off it's heat and energy. Once solar energy is converted it's uses are practically unlimited. Applications of solar energy include: space heating and cooling through solar architecture, potable water via distillation and disinfection,daylightingting, hot water, thermal energy for cooking, and high temperature process heat for industrial purposes.
