About Solar Energy
Solar power is energy from the sun that is transformed into thermal or electrical energy.
Solar energy is the cleanest and most abundant renewable resource source available, and the United States has some of the richest solar resources worldwide. Modern innovation can harness this energy for a variety of usages, consisting of producing electricity, supplying light or a comfortable interior environment, and heating water for domestic, commercial, or industrial usage.
Solar power makes it possible for home owners to use the sun to power daily life: running your air conditioning system, cleaning clothing, watching TELEVISION, cooking dinner. All while decreasing your carbon footprint, and without burning nonrenewable fuel sources or putting a strain on the electrical grid. And while the environmental benefits of solar power are significant, numerous property owners find that the benefit, special features, and cost savings of owning a solar power system are even more enticing.
Leading Advantages of Solar Energy
#1 Considerably lower or perhaps remove your electric costs
Whether you're a homeowner, business, or nonprofit, electrical energy expenses can comprise a large part of your monthly expenses. With a photovoltaic panel system, you'll generate totally free power for your system's whole 25+ year lifecycle. Even if you do not produce One Hundred Percent of the energy you take in, solar will minimize your utility bills and you'll still conserve a lot of money.
#2 Make a great return on your investment
Solar panels aren't an expense-- they're one of the very best ways to invest, with returns matching those of more traditional investments like stocks and bonds. Thanks to considerable electrical energy expense cost savings, the typical American homeowner settles their photovoltaic panel system in 7 to 8 years and sees an ROI of 20 percent or more.
#3 Secure against rising energy costs
Among the most clear cut advantages of photovoltaic panels is the capability to hedge energy costs. In the past ten years, property electricity costs have increased by an average of three percent yearly. By buying a solar energy system now, you can fix your electricity rate and protect versus unforeseeable increases in electricity expenses. If you're a service or property owner with ever-changing cash circulation, going solar likewise helps you much better projection and manage your expenditures.
#4 Increase your home value
Several research studies have found that houses geared up with solar energy systems have greater property worths and offer quicker than non-solar homes. Appraisers are significantly taking solar setups into consideration as they value homes at the time of a sale, and as property buyers end up being more informed about solar, demand for properties equipped with solar panel systems will continue to grow.
#5 Boost U.S. energy independence
The sun is a near-infinite source of energy and a key part of accomplishing energy independence in the United States. By increasing our capability to generate electrical power from the sun, we can likewise insulate our nation from cost fluctuations in international energy markets.
#6 Create jobs and assist your local economy
Inning accordance with The Solar Structure, the solar industry added jobs at a rate almost 12 times faster than the general U.S. economy in 2015, representing 1.2 percent of all tasks in the country. This growth is expected to continue. Because solar-related tasks have the tendency to be greater paying and can not be contracted out, they are a significant factor to the U.S. economy.
#7 Secure the environment
Solar is a fantastic way to decrease your carbon footprint. Buildings are accountable for 38 percent of all carbon emissions in the United States, and going solar can considerably decrease that number. A common residential photovoltaic panel system will remove 3 to 4 lots of carbon emissions each year-- the equivalent of planting over 100 trees annually.
#8 Show your dedication to sustainability
Sustainability and business social obligation are very important elements of an organization's culture and worths. They likewise produce bottom line outcomes. Increasingly, customers and neighborhoods are acknowledging and rewarding services that opt to run responsibly. Companies are discovering that "green" credentials are an effective motorist of customer getting choices, developing goodwill and enhancing business results.
#9 Start Conserving from Day 1
Solar purchase power contracts (PPAs) and solar leasing has made it possible for homeowners to go solar for little or no loan down.
Numerous homeowners choose to finance their photovoltaic panels with among the "pay-as-you-go" financing alternatives. This suggests that a third-party company-- the solar provider-- owns the planetary system and takes care of setup, upkeep, monitoring and repairs. You merely pay the solar company for electrical power-- less than you would've paid the utility company.
Since June 2013, 75% of all American houses have access to pay-as-you-go solar.
#10. Solar is a Secure Investment
The energy companies are well-known for their varying and undependable electrical energy costs. There is plainly an upward trend.
With photovoltaic panels and easy mathematics, we can compute just how much electrical energy will be generated, and most importantly, at what rate, for a minimum of the next 20 years (fixed energy costs).

Frequently Asked Questions
Are Solar Panels Worth It?
I'm Curious, For Those Who Have Had Solar Panels Installed On The Rooves Of Their Houses:
How Much Did You Pay? How Much Energy Do The Panels Produce? Did It Dramatically Cut Down On Your Electricity Bill? Was It Worth It? Thanks!
There are two officially advanced desert storm offices with true
solar equipping. The systems are both from Nasa type scientists
both private property sales. The use of California for the study is
because it requires 30 hours per month to keep the satellite sector
in alignment. The owner was very specific to each company that
all uses had to have junior sim companies for wider availability. The
fact remains solar energy is magic, cost of a large ranch in the
original maker was reduced with larger needs like barns, greenhouses, spas, and guest cabins by 78%. An average house
would not save. The technology best junior designers is around
5000 and will save 25,000 in some high cost locations per lifetime.
Where Can I Get A Solar Panel?
I Need A Solar Panel For A Science Fair Project And Find Out How To Hook It Up To A Small Fan. Can Someone Suggest Places I Can Look In? I Need A Small One That'S Less Than 6'' By 4''. I Also Need Instructions On How To Hook It Up To The Small Fan. Please And Thanks. Any Of The Questions You Have An Answer For, Please Answer.
There are lots of places, even radio shack might the parts, or you can order them on-line from RadioShack.
There are companies like Edmund Scientific that have sold things like this for science fairs for decades. For example:
The above should be a link to a kit with a cell and suitable motor for a series of school experiments. If you want to spin a fan, you might need a larger cell. Kits from Edmund should be complete with instructions.
Help Me With My Science Fair Project-- It Has To Do With Solar Panels....?
For My 11Th Grade Science Fair Project I Am Trying To Find Out If The Angle Of Light Rays Affects The Energy A Solar Panel Produces (For Example Would Rays Coming In At 90 Degrees Produce More Energy Than Rays Coming In At 30 Degrees, Ect.) What Kind Of Supplies Would I Need To Test This? I Know A Solar Panel, But How Would I Measure The Energy? Also Where Could I Get The Supplies? Thank You In Advance.
By The Way, I Do Not Know If I Am Putting This In The Right Category I Am In Physics So I Put It Here... Sorry If It Should Be Somewhere Else.
well you can use an LED (or a few) and the brigter the LED is, the more engery you are getting.
To be frank, you get the most power out of it if it is facing the sun.
I Think The Government Should Manufacture Solar Panels. Do You Agree?
Here'S An Idea, The Government Starts Manufacturing Small Solar Panels And Hands Them Out To Every Home In America For Them To Be Installed Into Their Meters. These Manufactures Would Then Sell To Other Countries. Green Jobs, Green Energy And Green Wallets. The Peoples Tax Money Well Spent.
The EU is already doing that actually correctly the EU pays half of the prize of those panels and in the future they hope to pay 75% also there is a law in the EU where the energy companies are legally bound to buy any extra energy that a citizen produces with his panels.
However In the USA such thing can't happen because we live on a anti-socialist country.
Is The "Green" Movement Helping Anything So Far?
With The Environment Ever More On People's Minds, We Seem To Be Talking About Using Less Energy, Paper, Etc. By Aggregate Measures, Is The World Making Any Progress?
If Not, Are Pockets Of Progress Demonstrated?
Also, I Believe That The Economic Slowdown Will Have A Bigger Effect Than The Green Movement In The Short Term. What Do You Think?

Yes, I live in one of those pockets, CA is always at the top of the list for the fuel efficient cars and renewable energy. Silicon Valley which used to be filled with start up computer and software companies is now the Alternate Fuel Valley, it is filling up with biofuel research companies and Tesla motors just opened up a manufacturing plant there for a more family friendly electric car. We have an initiative to put solar panels on 1 million homes in the next few years and we are well on our way. We are one if the epicenters for the mortgage meltdown, but agricultural land value in on the rise, we have more organic farms starting up and converting. We are going to court to make the Federal government allow us to increase fuel efficiency standards as well as emissions standards for cars sold and registered in the state. We have passed laws to require our energy to be increasinly clean, utilities can't build coal plants in our state and over the next few years the utilities will be allowed to import less. We just installed the largest PV solar system on a warehouse in LA and we are in the process of building a massive Solar Farm just north of LA. We just passed another law to raise funding for a high speed train to run from North to South which could eleminate a lot of short distance flying or long distance driving. The list could go on. Just suffice it to say, I live in a Green state and we in general are pushing to live in a clean state. We have so many beautiful natural treasures that we want to keep and we are fighting hard to do our part and to help others understand how they can do theirs.
As far as the economic slow down, I think that is the best thing to happen to the Green movement. It is just the shock people needed to get them out of so many bad habits. As there disposable income shrinks they will have to think about how they are spending money, when they realize that a daily Latte from Starbucks is costing them over $1600 a year they may decide to make it a home and use a coffee mug instead of a paper cup. When they are trying to cut the grocery bill, they may decide not to buy bottled water and start drinking tap water again. After the gas shock this summer people are more likely to look at the fuel efficiency of a vehicle and the potential resale value or keep there car much longer if it is working well. When considering a home, they are less likely to look at short term gains and look at it as a place to stay in and will likely go smaller to save money on furnishings and utilities. These are all good things.
