What Our Customers are Saying

"We found all of the employees with whom we in contact from the sales representative to the installers to be knowledgeable and professional. All our questions were answered satisfactorily which is why we decided panels installed. We were also impressed with the company’s A+ rating by the Better Business Bureau.” – Pat S. – Boston

"Our first two bills were approximately $300.00 less than before and our third bill, just received was down about $250.00 from what we were paying! We think it is fantastic!" - William R. - Waltham MA

"They did a wonderful job on my system and I would recommend them to my family and friends!" - Georg S. - Chicopee MA

I cannot express my gratitude for going forward with solar panels. From the initial meeting to discuss the possibility to the techs who eventually installed them. But most of all, it is the savings we have experienced. That first month was unbelievable. Solar plus our other electric source combined was less than our usual monthly expense. During the summer when our electric usage is higher because of the air conditioning, our monthly expense was still less than what we have paid with past summer usage. And if that’s not enough…our present electricity is primarily supplied by the solar panels. We have been building up a reserve with our other electricity source and will be able to draw from that all winter when our panels wont’t generate as much electricity. It’s a win-win situation that we’re just thrilled over. Having a fixed rate locked in is another great feature for savings.” – Virgil T. – Westport MA

About Solar Energy

Solar power is energy from the sun that is transformed into thermal or electrical energy.

Solar energy is the cleanest and most abundant renewable resource source available, and the United States has some of the richest solar resources worldwide. Modern innovation can harness this energy for a variety of usages, consisting of producing electricity, supplying light or a comfortable interior environment, and heating water for domestic, commercial, or industrial usage.

Solar Benefits

Solar power makes it possible for resident to use the sun to power everyday life: running your air conditioning system, washing clothing, watching TV, cooking supper. All while decreasing your carbon footprint, and without burning fossil fuels or putting a stress on the electrical grid. And while the environmental benefits of solar power are substantial, lots of residents discover that the benefit, unique features, and cost savings of owning a solar power system are a lot more enticing.

Top 10 Advantages of Solar Energy

#1 Significantly minimize or perhaps eliminate your electric costs

Whether you're a homeowner, organization, or not-for-profit, electricity costs can comprise a large portion of your month-to-month expenses. With a photovoltaic panel system, you'll create complimentary power for your system's entire 25+ year lifecycle. Even if you don't produce 100 percent of the energy you take in, solar will minimize your utility bills and you'll still conserve a lot of loan.

#2 Earn a terrific return on your investment

Solar panels aren't an expense-- they're one of the best methods to invest, with returns matching those of more standard investments like stocks and bonds. Thanks to significant electricity costs cost savings, the typical American house owner pays off their solar panel system in seven to eight years and sees an ROI of 20 percent or more.

#3 Safeguard versus increasing energy expenses

One of the most clear cut advantages of photovoltaic panels is the ability to hedge utility rates. In the previous 10 years, residential electrical energy costs have actually increased by an average of 3 percent annually. By investing in a solar energy system now, you can repair your electrical energy rate and protect against unforeseeable increases in electrical power expenses. If you're a business or homeowner with fluctuating money flow, going solar likewise helps you better projection and handle your expenditures.

#4 Boost your home or business worth

Numerous research studies have actually found that homes geared up with solar energy systems have higher residential or commercial property values and offer more quickly than non-solar houses. Appraisers are significantly taking solar installations into factor to consider as they value houses at the time of a sale, and as homebuyers end up being more educated about solar, need for residential or commercial properties equipped with solar panel systems will continue to grow.

#5 Boost U.S. energy self-reliance

The sun is a near-infinite source of energy and an essential element of attaining energy independence in the United States. By increasing our capacity to create electrical energy from the sun, we can also insulate our nation from cost fluctuations in global energy markets.

#6 Create jobs and help your regional economy

According to The Solar Structure, the solar industry added tasks at a rate almost 12 times faster than the general U.S. economy in 2015, representing 1.2 percent of all jobs in the country. This growth is expected to continue. Because solar-related tasks have the tendency to be higher paying and can not be contracted out, they are a significant contributor to the United States economy.

#7 Safeguard the environment

Solar is a fantastic way to lower your carbon footprint. Structures are responsible for 38 percent of all carbon emissions in the U.S., and going solar can substantially decrease that number. A normal domestic solar panel system will eliminate 3 to four lots of carbon emissions each year-- the equivalent of planting over 100 trees every year.

#8 Show your dedication to sustainability

Sustainability and corporate social duty are important elements of an organization's culture and worths. They also produce bottom line results. Increasingly, customers and neighborhoods are acknowledging and rewarding businesses that opt to operate responsibly. Companies are finding that "green" qualifications are an effective chauffeur of customer purchasing choices, developing goodwill and enhancing business outcomes.

#9 Start Conserving from Day 1

Solar purchase power arrangements (PPAs) and solar leasing has actually made it possible for homeowners to go solar for little or no money down.

Lots of house owners select to finance their solar panels with among the "pay-as-you-go" financing alternatives. This means that a third-party business-- the solar provider-- owns the solar system and looks after installation, maintenance, monitoring and repairs. You just pay the solar provider for electrical power-- less than you would've paid the utility business.

As of June 2013, 75% of all American houses have access to pay-as-you-go solar.

#10. Solar is a Secure Investment

The energy business are infamous for their fluctuating and unreliable electricity rates. There is clearly an upward pattern.

With photovoltaic panels and basic math, we can determine how much electricity will be produced, and most significantly, at exactly what price, for a minimum of the next Twenty Years (repaired energy costs).

The EPA has been working very hard on stopping fracking which is where our cheap natural gas has been coming from. Some coal plants that are newer are being retrofitted to burn natural gas instead of coal while we sell our coal to China. I have heard that in my area brown outs are a real possibility. Bottom line is that without cheap energy, the US can not prosper. No nation can.

There are 167 solar panels on the roof of the WH. They heat the swimming pool and provide domestic hot water. I don't have room for 167 solar especially if that's all I can expect out of them. How many thousands of dollars would that cost? 22 cents per unit of fossil fuel vs 22 dollars of solar or turbine unit of energy. Our electric bills are going to necessarily skyrocket. That's what they voted for. Middle Class? I don't think so.

How Much Solar Power Do I Need To Power A House?
On Average And How Much Would It Cost If I Installed It Myself

A typical US home will need a 3KW system, if the home is connected to the grid you can install a smaller system that will offset only part of your consumption. For DIY (buy the kit and install it yourself) you may assume $5 per watt ($15,000 for a 3 KW system), but you can claim 30% as a federal tax credit and depending on where you live, many states grant tax credits or other incentives

What Is The Most Energy-Efficient Efficient Way Of Boiling Water?
The Most Basic Trade-Off Is Between Heat And Time To Boiling. Assume A Circular Base Boiling Medium On An Average Liquefied Petroleum Gas (Lpg) Stove, For This Is Where The Question Is Practically Applicable. Well, It Might Also Work For Electric Stoves. At A Higher Heat Setting, There Will Be More Fuel Consumed Per Unit Time, But The Time It Will Take For The Water To Boil Will Be Shorter. At A Lower Heat, Less Fuel Is Consumed Per Unit Time, But It Will Take Longer To Boil The Water. The Desired Final Comparison Is Between Constant Heat And Overall Fuel Consumption (From Beginning To Heat Room-Temperature Water). Thank You! :-)

It depends on the effeciency of your fuel and of your heating source. Natural Gas is very clean-burning (meaning that it converts most of its potential energy into heat) but on a gas stove you lose most of the heat of that combustion to the air.

So, to answer the question: consider the rate that you lose heat from water versus from air. Water retains heat much better than air (it also heats much slower) so if you use a less intense flame, one could imagine that more of the heat will actually make it into the water instead of to the air, and you don't have to worry so much about the water cooling down, because water stays warm on its own pretty well.

So the most effecient way would be the way the wastes the least heat, and I would postulate that this would be low heat for a long time (but not so low that the water loses the heat to the air via evaporation) but that might not be the case...

and with electric it's different, because you're losing less heat to the air, so it only matters where your electricity is coming from (gas, oil, hydro, solar, nuclear, etc) whichever uses less fuel would give the best ratio.

Isn'T Hydrogen For Cars, Etc. A Pipe Dream? Won'T It Always Cost More To Extract Than The Energy It Gives Us?
I Suspect A Hydrogen-As-Fuel &Quot;Solution&Quot; To Our Modern Energy Problems Is An Illusory Dream. Will Costs Of Extraction And _Safe_ Distribution And Use Ever Be Econimically Viable? At Any Rate, I Strongly Suspect Ill-Advised &Quot;Leaders&Quot; Touting It Haven'T Bothered To Ask The Right Questions Of The Physicists. Can Anyone Shed Real Honest Light On This Issue?

Its best to think of hydrogen as a 'battery' rather than a power source. Because we don't have incredibly abundant supplies of free hydrogen on earth, it is not practical for use as an initial energy source. You are also right in your assertion that it will always take at least as much energy to create hydrogen as we can get by using it, in accordance with the first law of thermodynamics.

Hydrogen is, however, viable as an environmentally friendly fuel to operate vehicles. This is because the conversion of hydrogen into energy is essentially pollution free and is of high efficiency. Thus if we use an environmentally friendly power source, such as solar power, to produce the hydrogen, we can run vehicles in an essentially pollution free manner. As a result, a switch to hydrogen fuel cell vehicles would allow reductions in the overall emissions of our national power production to be reflected in reduced total energy cycle emissions of our vehicles.
