I suggest you check into Geothermal. You can heat and cool using the ground as a source. and, you get free hot water heating when its running. unless u can put up a BIG wind turbine u can only make so much elect with wind. Its hard to generate enough power with solar unless u have LOTS (the panels take up lots of space) of room outside and good southern exposure.
You can also consider a Power Cell, but they are very expensive.

What I can say is that, assuming this system of energy production is viable, it will probably be obstructed because of the deeply entrenched interests most of our politicians have with the oil and gas lobby. Why do you think, given all of our technological advancement in other areas, the movement away from fossil fuels has been moving at a snails pace. It is certainly not for lack of human ingenuity. We have an abundance of that.
