About Solar Energy
Solar power is energy from the sun that is transformed into thermal or electrical energy.
Solar energy is the cleanest and most abundant renewable resource source available, and the United States has some of the richest solar resources worldwide. Modern innovation can harness this energy for a variety of usages, consisting of producing electricity, supplying light or a comfortable interior environment, and heating water for domestic, commercial, or industrial usage.
Solar power makes it possible for property owner to utilize the sun to power everyday life: running your a/c unit, washing clothing, seeing TV, cooking supper. All while minimizing your carbon footprint, and without burning nonrenewable fuel sources or putting a pressure on the electrical grid. And while the ecological advantages of solar power are considerable, lots of homeowners discover that the convenience, special features, and expense savings of owning a solar power system are much more enticing.
Leading Advantages of Solar Energy
#1 Drastically minimize or perhaps remove your electrical bills
Whether you're a house owner, company, or not-for-profit, electricity costs can comprise a large portion of your regular monthly costs. With a solar panel system, you'll generate free power for your system's entire 25+ year lifecycle. Even if you do not produce One Hundred Percent of the energy you consume, solar will reduce your utility expenses and you'll still save a great deal of loan.
#2 Earn a great return on your financial investment
Photovoltaic panels aren't an expense-- they're one of the very best methods to invest, with returns matching those of more conventional financial investments like stocks and bonds. Thanks to significant electricity expense savings, the average American house owner settles their photovoltaic panel system in 7 to eight years and sees an ROI of 20 percent or more.
#3 Safeguard versus rising energy expenses
One of the most clear cut benefits of photovoltaic panels is the ability to hedge energy prices. In the previous ten years, domestic electricity costs have actually gone up by approximately 3 percent every year. By purchasing a solar energy system now, you can repair your electrical energy rate and secure versus unpredictable increases in electricity costs. If you're a service or property owner with fluctuating capital, going solar likewise helps you much better forecast and manage your costs.
#4 Increase your house worth
Numerous research studies have found that houses geared up with solar energy systems have greater property worths and sell faster than non-solar homes. Appraisers are increasingly taking solar setups into consideration as they value houses at the time of a sale, and as homebuyers end up being more informed about solar, demand for homes geared up with solar panel systems will continue to grow.
#5 Boost U.S. energy self-reliance
The sun is a near-infinite source of energy and an essential component of accomplishing energy independence in the United States. By increasing our capacity to create electricity from the sun, we can also insulate our country from price fluctuations in global energy markets.
#6 Create jobs and help your local economy
According to The Solar Structure, the solar market added tasks at a rate almost 12 times faster than the total U.S. economy in 2015, representing 1.2 percent of all jobs in the country. This growth is anticipated to continue. Because solar-related jobs tend to be higher paying and can not be contracted out, they are a considerable contributor to the U.S. economy.
#7 Protect the environment
Solar is a terrific way to lower your carbon footprint. Structures are accountable for 38 percent of all carbon emissions in the U.S., and going solar can considerably reduce that number. A normal domestic photovoltaic panel system will eliminate 3 to 4 loads of carbon emissions each year-- the equivalent of planting over 100 trees yearly.
#8 Demonstrate your dedication to sustainability
Sustainability and corporate social responsibility are very important elements of an organization's culture and worths. They also produce bottom line results. Progressively, customers and communities are acknowledging and rewarding companies that select to run responsibly. Companies are finding that "green" qualifications are an effective chauffeur of consumer purchasing choices, creating goodwill and improving organisation outcomes.
#9 Start Saving from Day 1
Solar purchase power agreements (PPAs) and solar leasing has actually made it possible for homeowners to go solar for little or no loan down.
Many house owners decide to fund their solar panels with one of the "pay-as-you-go" funding choices. This implies that a third-party business-- the solar provider-- owns the solar system and looks after setup, upkeep, tracking and repair works. You just pay the solar service provider for electrical power-- less than you would've paid the energy business.
Since June 2013, 75% of all American homes have access to pay-as-you-go solar.
#10. Solar is a Secure Financial investment
The utility business are well-known for their changing and undependable electrical power rates. There is plainly an upward pattern.
With photovoltaic panels and basic math, we can determine what does it cost? electricity will be generated, and most notably, at what rate, for a minimum of the next Twenty Years (fixed energy expenses).

Solar energy in households
The sun is a great source of energy. It would be great to use solar energy in your homes especially nowadays when the prices of oil and gas continue to increase. Because of the high fuel and gas prices, more and more people are experimenting on the use of solar energy in their households in their attempts to minimize the costs of basic utilities.
The only problem here is that not all places have equal amounts of sunlight. As you go farther from the equator, the strength of the sun is reduced. But still, this is a much better solution than relying on electric grids which do not reach remote areas. It is just a mater of storing the heat generated from the solar collector properly. For example, some buildings in Sweden utilized an underground storage facility where solar energy is stored resulting to savings from heating the building and their water.
This reliance by communities on solar cooking should encourage more studies on how to make photovoltaic cells cheaper for an ordinary household. At this time, the use of solar cells is not economically friendly for a single household. However, the approach here is to install a series of solar panels which would be shared by the whole community. This could be a good idea depending on your usage, but for basic lighting purposes these could work in small poor communities.
In some areas, community cooperatives have found ways to bring electricity to households out of reach of power grids. In the Philippines for example, a local cooperative provided households loans to enable them to install a basic solar power module which can produce enough electricity for three light bulbs. This ay be laughable in our standards but to these people who have been living all their lives with the flickering light of the candles, three electric light bulbs make a great deal of a difference.
However, according to industry analysts, the costs of solar cells production will go down as the demand increase. Also, most are hopeful that recent discoveries and advancement in technologies will find a way to bring down costs of using solar energy.
Ordinary households using solar energy is an ideal scenario that we should all strive to achieve
How Is Solar Energy Created????? Helppppppppppppppppp I Need It By Tomorrow?
On My Presentation Thats Due Tomorrow
How Does Solar Energy Work/ Created Plez Give Me A Refrence Souse Because Its Needed
Here is all you need to know
Solar Energy ?
How Does It Work ? Would It Be Possible To Use It For Everything We Do That Requires Electricity ? Or Do We Only Use It To Heat Water ? I'M Confused :/ Are There Cars Which Only Use Solar Energy ?
There are several ways we can harness solar energy:
Solar panels are large plates of silicon that have a special coating on them. When exposed to sunlight, the coating becomes electrically charged, and voila, you have electricity. The downside is that it's not very efficient for the amount of space you need. For instance, you'd need to cover most of your house's roof with panels to generate enough electricity to run your house. And at night, well, no sun means no power. Roof top systems are configured to sell power back to the electric company. This shows up as a credit on your monthly bill and helps lower your overall cost of electricity.
There have been some experiments done with solar powered cars. Many universities compete in a race consisting of solar powered cars built by their students. Some other people with hybrid cars have put solar panels on their roof to help recharge their car's batteries while driving down the road. However, until we figure out how to make more powerful solar cells and better batteries, it's likely that cars powered completely by solar energy will remain a curiosity.
Another way to use solar energy is solar heating. This consists of a large metal box, painted black, that has copper piping running in a dense zig-zag pattern inside of it. Black absorbs heat, so placed in the sun the box becomes very hot. As cooler water enters the box from one end, and zig-zags through the pipes inside, it picks up some of the heat so that it leaves the box warmer than when it entered. These are commonly used for swimming pools. A small water pump draws water from the swimming pool and sends it through black box, where it's slightly heated before returning to the pool. This way the pool is warmed without having to use gas or electricity to heat the water. It's also possible to use this system to help keep the water inside your water heater warm without having to use the gas or electricity in the heater. It won't replace your gas or electric water heater, but it can help you use less energy - saving you money and helping the planet.
A third way we can use solar energy is in the form of a solar furnace. Surely you've used a magnifying glass in the sunlight and noticed if you focus the light on a piece of paper, it will eventually catch fire. Well, that's the same idea behind a solar furnace. Using mirrors and lenses, the sun's energy is redirected and focused onto a tank or a section of pipe. Inside is water or some other liquid, which is then turned into pressurized steam, which is then used to turn a turbine that generates electricity. This is basically the same idea behind old steam powered locomotives, and is also how nuclear power plants produce electricity.
There are still challenges we need to deal with for solar power. Solar panels are difficult and expensive to make and you need a lot of them to produce any significant amount of electricity. There's also the problem with places that don't get as much sunlight - such as places up north during the Winter - and of course night time when the sun's not out at all. Solar furnaces are still under experimentation. They're still fairly expensive to build and also require a lot of space because of all the mirrors and lenses, not to mention once the sun goes down, they also stop working.
Is The Solyndra Solar Panel Plant The Kind Of Change We Can Believe In?
Donate $100K To Obama, Get $500M In Free Tax Payer Obama Bucks - Then Take The Money For Yourself And Fire 1100 Workers
Do You Think Obama Will Make A Campaign Commercial Out Of Solyndra?
This Is What Happens When Liberals Spend Money - Unemployment - Change You Can Believe In !
LOL The loons in Washington are dancing a jig to distance themselves from Solyndra. It is quite funny listening to them weasel and whine that Solyndra was done by Bush. The forget to say that the Bush advisers advised against putting any money into a failed concept. They also ignore the question why the Solyndra executives were frequent guests in the Obama White House (the logs prove it). Their answer to the campaign donation is - prove it there is no proof. They are in full weasel mode at the Obama castle.
What Would It Cost To Power The United States From Renewable Resources, Mainly Solar?
We Already Have Some Solar, Geothermal, Hydro, Wind Farms And Probably More, But What Is The Most Efficient, And Land Saving Way Of Producing Extremely Clean Energy, And How Can We Figure Out How Many Billions (Or Trillions?) Of Dollars It Would Cost To Start Up Or Improve What We Have To Completely Reduce The Need For Importation And Use Of Crude Fuels To Create Electricity. And Would That Not Be A Better Use For Trillions Of Dollars Than Health Care Reform? :P I Was Thinking Take A Number For Total Kwh Used In Us And Figure Out How Many Structures And Solar Panels And Whatnot It Would Take To Produce That Much, And Then The Cost Of The Infrastructure To Provide This Much Reliable Power Within A Few Years? I Don'T Know Where To Find The Numbers :)
There is no short cut to alternative energy, and it's going to cost this country bundles over the next 25-30 years, and yes, before you ask, you, the taxpayers, will be footing the bill. Right now the U.S. has very little to no infastructure for new energy technoligy. The biggest sticking point is this. Right now, there is little to no demand for alternative energy. We will continue to pay through the nose in this country to import oil (we import approx: 60% and that is too much).
Much of our oil imports come from the middle east, and considering the volitile situation in that region of the world at present, these radicals could cut our oil supply at ANY time, leaving us vulnerable to a degree. Yes, we do produce some of our own oil in the U.S. but only about 40%, and our refineries are antiquated and wore out, and we have not built a new refinery since 1976! America has an abundance of oil and natural gas that is just waiting to be tapped. But, we have allowed ourselves to be bound by environmental laws, to the stage, where we can no longer gain access to our own natural rescources, and we have done this to ourselves! If that is not bad enough, we are now being faced with the same problems by radical environmentalists of whom are trying to stop the production of many alternative energy plants. They say it is dangerous to the environment. Is this making any sense to you? Can you see the inherent dangers here that we in this country are facing if we continue in accepting the status quo? We are doomed if we do, and we are doomed if we don't. It will take at least 20 years for the U.S. to become somewhat self reliant on alternative energy. In the meantime, oil is the most affordable energy commodity that we have and we should be producing much more of our own in our own country and not spending millions of dollars importing the stuff. Things have got to change,
