Generally the warranty period is about half what the actual life expectancy is, so it isn't uncommon for panels to produce at least 80% of their rated power for 50 years today. We have a 1.4 kw solar array on our garage roof that is about 11 years old now, and to be honest, with our data logging equipment, I've not been able to measure any loss in performance over that time. They probably put out about 98% or what they did 11 years ago, we just can't see the change yet. Two years ago, on a routine check, I discovered that one panel was not putting out it's rated voltage, and therefore was not actually charging the battery bank at all. After some phone calls, it was discovered that the panel, and 2 others were under a recall from Kyocera for bad solder joints inside the panel. They sent me brand new replacement panels, paid for round trip shipping and added a few hundred dollars for me to pay my installer to change them out. They definitely stood behind their warranty.
