What Our Customers are Saying

"We found all of the employees with whom we in contact from the sales representative to the installers to be knowledgeable and professional. All our questions were answered satisfactorily which is why we decided panels installed. We were also impressed with the company’s A+ rating by the Better Business Bureau.” – Pat S. – Boston

"Our first two bills were approximately $300.00 less than before and our third bill, just received was down about $250.00 from what we were paying! We think it is fantastic!" - William R. - Waltham MA

"They did a wonderful job on my system and I would recommend them to my family and friends!" - Georg S. - Chicopee MA

I cannot express my gratitude for going forward with solar panels. From the initial meeting to discuss the possibility to the techs who eventually installed them. But most of all, it is the savings we have experienced. That first month was unbelievable. Solar plus our other electric source combined was less than our usual monthly expense. During the summer when our electric usage is higher because of the air conditioning, our monthly expense was still less than what we have paid with past summer usage. And if that’s not enough…our present electricity is primarily supplied by the solar panels. We have been building up a reserve with our other electricity source and will be able to draw from that all winter when our panels wont’t generate as much electricity. It’s a win-win situation that we’re just thrilled over. Having a fixed rate locked in is another great feature for savings.” – Virgil T. – Westport MA

About Solar Energy

Solar power is energy from the sun that is transformed into thermal or electrical energy.

Solar energy is the cleanest and most abundant renewable resource source available, and the United States has some of the richest solar resources worldwide. Modern innovation can harness this energy for a variety of usages, consisting of producing electricity, supplying light or a comfortable interior environment, and heating water for domestic, commercial, or industrial usage.

Solar Benefits

Solar power makes it possible for property owner to use the sun to power everyday life: running your ac system, washing clothes, enjoying TELEVISION, cooking dinner. All while decreasing your carbon footprint, and without burning nonrenewable fuel sources or putting a pressure on the electrical grid. And while the ecological advantages of solar power are significant, lots of property owners discover that the benefit, special functions, and cost savings of owning a solar power system are even more enticing.

Leading Advantages of Solar Energy

#1 Considerably lower and even remove your electric bills

Whether you're a property owner, company, or not-for-profit, electricity costs can make up a large part of your regular monthly expenses. With a photovoltaic panel system, you'll generate totally free power for your system's entire 25+ year lifecycle. Even if you do not produce 100 percent of the energy you consume, solar will reduce your utility expenses and you'll still conserve a lot of money.

#2 Make a fantastic return on your investment

Photovoltaic panels aren't an expense-- they're one of the very best ways to invest, with returns measuring up to those of more traditional investments like stocks and bonds. Thanks to substantial electrical energy bill cost savings, the typical American homeowner settles their solar panel system in 7 to eight years and sees an ROI of 20 percent or more.

#3 Secure against rising energy costs

One of the most clear cut advantages of photovoltaic panels is the capability to hedge energy costs. In the past 10 years, domestic electricity prices have gone up by approximately three percent every year. By purchasing a solar energy system now, you can repair your electrical power rate and safeguard versus unpredictable increases in electrical energy costs. If you're a service or homeowner with ever-changing cash circulation, going solar likewise helps you better forecast and handle your costs.

#4 Increase your home value

Several research studies have discovered that homes geared up with solar energy systems have higher home values and offer faster than non-solar houses. Appraisers are progressively taking solar installations into factor to consider as they value homes at the time of a sale, and as homebuyers become more educated about solar, demand for residential or commercial properties geared up with solar panel systems will continue to grow.

#5 Boost U.S. energy self-reliance

The sun is a near-infinite source of energy and an essential part of achieving energy self-reliance in the United States. By increasing our capacity to generate electrical energy from the sun, we can also insulate our nation from price fluctuations in worldwide energy markets.

#6 Develop jobs and assist your regional economy

Inning accordance with The Solar Structure, the solar market added tasks at a rate almost 12 times faster than the general U.S. economy in 2015, representing 1.2 percent of all jobs in the nation. This development is expected to continue. Because solar-related tasks tend to be higher paying and can not be contracted out, they are a considerable contributor to the United States economy.

#7 Secure the environment

Solar is an excellent way to decrease your carbon footprint. Buildings are responsible for 38 percent of all carbon emissions in the U.S., and going solar can considerably decrease that number. A normal property photovoltaic panel system will get rid of 3 to four lots of carbon emissions each year-- the equivalent of planting over 100 trees every year.

#8 Demonstrate your commitment to sustainability

Sustainability and corporate social obligation are important elements of an organization's culture and values. They also produce bottom line results. Increasingly, consumers and communities are acknowledging and rewarding businesses that opt to operate responsibly. Companies are discovering that "green" qualifications are a powerful motorist of consumer getting choices, producing goodwill and enhancing company results.

#9 Start Conserving from Day 1

Solar purchase power agreements (PPAs) and solar leasing has actually made it possible for property owners to go solar for little or no cash down.

Numerous house owners opt to fund their solar panels with among the "pay-as-you-go" financing choices. This means that a third-party business-- the solar service provider-- owns the solar system and looks after installation, maintenance, tracking and repairs. You simply pay the solar provider for electrical energy-- less than you would've paid the energy company.

As of June 2013, 75% of all American houses have access to pay-as-you-go solar.

#10. Solar is a Secure Investment

The utility business are well-known for their changing and undependable electrical power prices. There is clearly an upward trend.

With photovoltaic panels and simple mathematics, we can calculate just how much electrical power will be created, and most significantly, at exactly what rate, for a minimum of the next 20 years (fixed energy expenses).

What Is The Current Status Of Solar Panel Installation For Homes?
I Keep Hearing About New Great Progress In The Field - Then Practical Installation Is Still Quite Expensive And Life Span Of The Solar Panels Is Estimated At 10 Years - Not Enough Time To Really Make A Difference Financially I'M In Southern California Too - Prime Area Please Cite Any Sources You Have Re: New And Improved Systems That Are Ready To Instal. Thanks - Solar Seems Like The Answer - And I Keep Hearing We'Re Getting Close - Just Hard To Be Patient.

I assume you're talking about photovoltaic arrays?

You can go on Ebay and check out the going prices for photovoltaic array panels. You will find out very quickly what their current status is.

You can buy the inverters you'd need there also. Then there's cabling, deep cycle batteries. Some of that you might have to get locally, but it's all off the shelf stuff.

And then you can hire an electrician to install all that stuff for you, if you don't know how to do it yourself.

Mainly its the cost of the photovoltaic cells themselves that keep such systems from being really viable. It would simply take too long to recoup the cost from reduced electrical bills, to make the project worthwhile. Except to your occasional rich hobbyist.

I do believe production of these cells is increasing quite a bit in recent years however, and perhaps in time the magic of mass production and refined manufacturing techniques will change the costs involved.

Anyway, just check out what the stuff is going for on ebay, and figure out for yourself what it would cost you for the kind of system you'd like to have.

Now if you mean passive solar heating or solar water heaters, well, those are relatively cheap.

OK, just went up on ebay and did a search on 'soar panels.' Found this.

http://cgi.ebay.com/100w-Solar-Panels-48...

It's a 100w solar panel for $485. That's a typical price. Ten of these will get you a kilowatt of power on a bright sunny day. Think you can run your house on that? You might want three or four kilowatts. Maybe more.

I wouldn't be surprised if a three or four kilowatt system would end up costing you well over twenty thousand dollars.

So, how long do you suppose it would take you to recoup that?

Of course, if you're lucky, you might be able to sell your excess electricity back to the grid.... at the wholesale rate.....

Still, if you put it all together yourself, and you don't mind spending some cash, it would be interesting.

I'm sure one day it will be more affordable.

If We Had Solar Energy How Would The Energy Be Active At Night?
I Have A Research Paper Due And I Have No Idea How To Answer This Question? Please Be Pro Solar Enegy.. I Based My Whole Research On The Pro Causes Of Solar Energy.

When it comes to solar power systems, you need to have two basic components which are a PV panel and a storage system. The function of the PV is to generate electricity and the storage systems are used when you aren't using all the solar energy generated. In other words, the system stores the electricity for later use.

The storage system will consist of batteries which are placed in a vented room such as a basement. You don't need to have batteries but they're recommended for those who want to be completely independent in terms of energy production. Batteries will allow you to do this and they're the most common way of storing solar energy.

Although batteries are typically used for solar energy storage, there are also two main types to choose from. These are lead acid and nickel cadmium.

Due to their low cost, you will find that lead acid batteries are the most common when storing solar energy. They're very similar to the type of battery you have in a car. The terminals are positive and negative and they have leads attached to them which contain metal plates that in turn connect to terminals. These plates sit in a solution of sulphuric acid. When there is a reaction between the lead plates and the sulphuric acid you will find that this is how electricity is produced.

This is pretty much how a nickel cadmium battery work too however these batteries are a lot more expensive. The benefit of paying more for these batteries is that they function much better. Not only to the discharge more electric current before they require recharging but they also last a lot longer than lead acid batteries.

Because of the way solar panels work the battery will charge up when the solar panels are not getting any light. This is why they're so important so that you can still run electrical devices in your home no matter what amount of light is currently hitting the solar panels.

The problem with batteries is that they can become drained or can be overcharged too many times. This why charge controllers are used as they stop this from happening. If the batteries become fully charged the controller prevents any more charging from happening. You will find that lead acid batteries are meant to be discharged at about 50% of their capacity allowing you to extend its life.

Solar panels normally last for about 20 years but batteries only last for about half that time. This is why it's so important that you understand you need to factor this into the cost of your solar system. Replacing your batteries can be fairly costly and shouldn't be ignored when making your solar purchase.

Why Can'T Solar Energy Be Used For All Our Energy Needs?
Why Won'T The World Invest More On Solar Energy / Technology That Will Exploit Solar Energy For All Our Day To Day Use? Wouldn'T That Bring Down The Cost Of Our Living Drastically? Or Is Our Capitalistic World Designed In Such A Manner That We Deliberately Do Not Allow It To Happen?

First off solar is very expensive to use. So it would drive up our cost of living drastically. That alone answers your question.
http://greenecon.net/understanding-the-c...
Second you would have to cover the whole world with solar panels to get enough energy to supply all of our needs. Then you would have place to grow crops. So everybody in the world would die.
Solar does not work at night and is not practical in the very northern climates. When you get above the arctic circle it's night time for most of the winter. You can't store that much electricity in batteries to last that long. Where are you going to get enough batteries to store all the energy needed at night. That is a lot of mining you are going to have to do.
Stick with coal. It's cheap and abundant.
