About Solar Energy
Solar power is energy from the sun that is transformed into thermal or electrical energy.
Solar energy is the cleanest and most abundant renewable resource source available, and the United States has some of the richest solar resources worldwide. Modern innovation can harness this energy for a variety of usages, consisting of producing electricity, supplying light or a comfortable interior environment, and heating water for domestic, commercial, or industrial usage.
Solar power makes it possible for house owners to use the sun to power everyday life: running your a/c, washing clothing, watching TV, cooking supper. All while reducing your carbon footprint, and without burning nonrenewable fuel sources or putting a stress on the electrical grid. And while the environmental benefits of solar power are substantial, lots of residents discover that the benefit, unique features, and cost savings of owning a solar power system are even more alluring.

Thanks to considerable electricity costs cost savings, the typical American property owner pays off their solar panel system in seven to 8 years and sees an ROI of 20 percent or more.
#3 Secure against rising energy expenses
One of the most clear cut advantages of solar panels is the capability to hedge utility costs. In the past 10 years, domestic electrical energy costs have increased by approximately 3 percent yearly. By buying a solar energy system now, you can repair your electrical power rate and secure against unforeseeable increases in electricity costs. If you're a business or property owner with rising and falling capital, going solar likewise helps you much better forecast and manage your expenditures.

Appraisers are increasingly taking solar installations into consideration as they value houses at the time of a sale, and as property buyers end up being more educated about solar, need for homes equipped with solar panel systems will continue to grow.
#5 Boost U.S. energy independence
The sun is a near-infinite source of energy and a crucial part of achieving energy independence in the United States. By increasing our capability to create electrical power from the sun, we can also insulate our country from price fluctuations in worldwide energy markets.
#6 Create jobs and help your local economy
According to The Solar Structure, the solar industry included tasks at a rate almost 12 times faster than the general U.S. economy in 2015, representing 1.2 percent of all jobs in the country. This development is expected to continue. Because solar-related tasks have the tendency to be higher paying and can not be contracted out, they are a significant contributor to the United States economy.

Solar purchase power agreements (PPAs) and solar leasing has made it possible for homeowners to go solar for little or no money down.
Lots of homeowners pick to finance their solar panels with among the "pay-as-you-go" funding alternatives. This implies that a third-party company-- the solar provider-- owns the planetary system and looks after installation, upkeep, monitoring and repair works. You merely pay the solar provider for electrical power-- less than you would've paid the energy business.
Since June 2013, 75% of all American houses have access to pay-as-you-go solar.
#10. Solar is a Secure Financial investment
The utility business are well-known for their fluctuating and undependable electrical energy costs. There is plainly an upward trend.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which Lasts Longer, Batteries Or Solar Panels?
Which One Lasts Longer?
I'm not sure how to approach your question. batteries and solar panels aren't really comparable. Solar panels make electricity from sunlight hitting them, while batteries just store electricity. Fundamentally, they are different technologies. One is an energy producer, the other is an energy storage medium.
What Negative Environmental Impacts Are There From Manufacturing Solar Panels?
I'D Like To Green Up My Existing Home During Our Next Remodel, But My Husband Reminded Me That The Materials, Energy, Low Returnn, Not To Mention The Aesthetic Scar On Nature Really Didn'T Outweigh The Productivity Yet. He Suggested Designing Passive Solar Passages On The South Side With Convection And Wind Energy To Disburse The Household Heat.
I get the impression PV panels have become quite fashionable in the States, I heard of someone in the UK placing a panel on the north side of the building "because that's where people will see it".
I'm not sure on the amont of embedded energy in PV panels, it is too significant to be the best option environmentally in the context of installing them on an house which is on grid.
You've got yourself a smart man there. I have heard about people using fans to move heat from the south to noth side with success, I'm not sure you mean wind energy as such.
Below is a link to a book on the subject.
Don't forget your solar water heating, not pretty, but probably worth it.
Solar Power Energy - How To Make The Panels Work!?
For A Project I Have To Make Solar Panels Produce Energy, Does Anyone Know How I Would Do This? I Found Where I Can Buy The Panels But I Dont Know How To Get To Them Creating Energy In Order To Produce Warm Heat Or Cool Air, Any Suggestions Or Sites That Would Help?
Facade: First, the panels must obviously face south to gain the most energy at mid day (meridian, when the sun is at it's highest point).
Declination angle: The panels should be angled at an ideal 52 degrees above the horizon so that the maximum flat part of the panel is exposed to the sun at meridian.
For heat: The top part of the panel will be hot and that is where you would have a vent (connect a tube or duct at this point to direct the heat to a place where it will be used or stored).
For cooling: The panel needs to be up high so that the air duct at the bottom of the panel comes from the room where there is cooler air. The hot panel with the top vent open, will draw the cooler air up out of the room (remember, hot air rises) If the room is connected to an earth tube, it will really start to get cool. You can simulate an earth tube for your project by using a metal tube in the shape of a 'U' and placing it in a deep tray filled with ice. Connect with air tube feeding into the room.
Buy (or borrow) a number of thermometers to show the temperature at every important point in the system (panel air out, panel air in, room air, earth tube air, etc. - just run it and experiment).
I hope this gives you an idea of how to start.
How Much Do Solar Panels Cost?
For Instance, How Much Would It Cost To Buy Solar Panels Which Could Power One Hypothetical Standard American Home Of Two Parents And One Child?

How Can You Get Affordable Solar Panels?
I Was Watching An Idiot Abroad, And I Saw A Family That Lived In Tent Like Huts, With No Plumbing. And They Had A Solar Panel, Now If They Can Afford It, I Know I Can. Where Do You Get Cheap Ones?
We are having solar panels installed this Friday. Call a company called "Solar City". You can work it through them 3 different ways, you can buy them out right and reap 100% savings, or lease them (like we are) and sign a contract. You won't pay a dime to lease them but your savings won't be as much. The plus side is, you don't have the huge expense either and they are responsible for the maintenance. Lastly, you can lease as the latter option, and purchase during any point of the lease at a pro-rata cost. You can also chose to buy the panels cheaply when your lease is up, but they may be very outdated by then.
We have found Solar City top notch, highly trained, extremely polite and considerate. We found them set up at Home Depot. It took from about last January, I think it was, until this Friday, for installation, and then it will be about another 6 weeks until the service is actually turned on. Government red tape, etc.
Good luck. I hope this helped.
