You would have to leave Earth and move outwards hoping to hit Mars as you travel away from the sun. The chances of this are very very slim. Even if you did all your calculations and timed it just right, it'd be a long shot and such a planetary alignment would not occur frequently enough to allow for it's every day usage.

In summation, it would be a very slow and ineffectual way to travel between planets and it would almost certainly fail if attempted.
