What Our Customers are Saying

"We found all of the employees with whom we in contact from the sales representative to the installers to be knowledgeable and professional. All our questions were answered satisfactorily which is why we decided panels installed. We were also impressed with the company’s A+ rating by the Better Business Bureau.” – Pat S. – Boston

"Our first two bills were approximately $300.00 less than before and our third bill, just received was down about $250.00 from what we were paying! We think it is fantastic!" - William R. - Waltham MA

"They did a wonderful job on my system and I would recommend them to my family and friends!" - Georg S. - Chicopee MA

I cannot express my gratitude for going forward with solar panels. From the initial meeting to discuss the possibility to the techs who eventually installed them. But most of all, it is the savings we have experienced. That first month was unbelievable. Solar plus our other electric source combined was less than our usual monthly expense. During the summer when our electric usage is higher because of the air conditioning, our monthly expense was still less than what we have paid with past summer usage. And if that’s not enough…our present electricity is primarily supplied by the solar panels. We have been building up a reserve with our other electricity source and will be able to draw from that all winter when our panels wont’t generate as much electricity. It’s a win-win situation that we’re just thrilled over. Having a fixed rate locked in is another great feature for savings.” – Virgil T. – Westport MA

About Solar Energy

Solar power is energy from the sun that is transformed into thermal or electrical energy.

Solar energy is the cleanest and most abundant renewable resource source available, and the United States has some of the richest solar resources worldwide. Modern innovation can harness this energy for a variety of usages, consisting of producing electricity, supplying light or a comfortable interior environment, and heating water for domestic, commercial, or industrial usage.

Solar Benefits

Solar power makes it possible for homeowner to utilize the sun to power daily life: running your air conditioning unit, cleaning clothes, enjoying TELEVISION, cooking supper. All while decreasing your carbon footprint, and without burning fossil fuels or putting a strain on the electrical grid. And while the ecological advantages of solar power are substantial, lots of homeowners find that the benefit, special functions, and expense savings of owning a solar power system are even more enticing.

Top 10 Benefits of Solar Energy

#1 Drastically lower or perhaps eliminate your electrical expenses

Whether you're a house owner, service, or nonprofit, electrical power costs can comprise a big portion of your month-to-month expenses. With a solar panel system, you'll create totally free power for your system's whole 25+ year lifecycle. Even if you don't produce 100 percent of the energy you take in, solar will reduce your utility bills and you'll still save a lot of money.

#2 Earn an excellent return on your financial investment

Solar panels aren't a cost-- they are among the best ways to invest, with returns equaling those of more conventional investments like stocks and bonds. Thanks to considerable electrical power bill savings, the average American homeowner settles their solar panel system in 7 to eight years and sees an ROI of 20 percent or more.

#3 Protect versus rising energy costs

Among the most clear cut benefits of photovoltaic panels is the ability to hedge energy rates. In the previous 10 years, domestic electrical energy rates have gone up by an average of 3 percent each year. By buying a solar energy system now, you can fix your electrical energy rate and secure versus unforeseeable increases in electricity expenses. If you're a company or property owner with ever-changing capital, going solar likewise assists you much better forecast and manage your expenditures.

#4 Boost your home or business value

Numerous studies have actually found that homes geared up with solar energy systems have higher property worths and offer quicker than non-solar houses. Appraisers are progressively taking solar installations into consideration as they value homes at the time of a sale, and as homebuyers become more informed about solar, demand for properties equipped with solar panel systems will continue to grow.

#5 Increase U.S. energy self-reliance

The sun is a near-infinite source of energy and a key part of attaining energy independence in the United States. By increasing our capability to produce electrical power from the sun, we can also insulate our nation from price changes in worldwide energy markets.

#6 Create jobs and assist your regional economy

Inning accordance with The Solar Foundation, the solar industry included tasks at a rate nearly 12 times faster than the overall U.S. economy in 2015, representing 1.2 percent of all tasks in the nation. This growth is expected to continue. Because solar-related tasks tend to be greater paying and can not be outsourced, they are a substantial contributor to the U.S. economy.

#7 Secure the environment

Solar is a terrific method to minimize your carbon footprint. Structures are accountable for 38 percent of all carbon emissions in the United States, and going solar can considerably reduce that number. A normal domestic solar panel system will remove 3 to four tons of carbon emissions each year-- the equivalent of planting over 100 trees every year.

#8 Demonstrate your commitment to sustainability

Sustainability and corporate social duty are necessary components of a company's culture and values. They also produce bottom line results. Progressively, customers and neighborhoods are recognizing and rewarding organisations that decide to run properly. Businesses are finding that "green" credentials are a powerful driver of consumer buying decisions, developing goodwill and enhancing business results.

#9 Start Saving from Day 1

Solar purchase power arrangements (PPAs) and solar leasing has actually made it possible for property owners to go solar for little or no loan down.

Numerous homeowners decide to finance their photovoltaic panels with among the "pay-as-you-go" funding alternatives. This suggests that a third-party company-- the solar provider-- owns the solar system and looks after setup, maintenance, monitoring and repair works. You simply pay the solar supplier for electrical power-- less than you would've paid the energy business.

As of June 2013, 75% of all American homes have access to pay-as-you-go solar.

#10. Solar is a Secure Financial investment

The utility companies are infamous for their varying and undependable electricity prices. There is plainly an upward pattern.

With photovoltaic panels and easy mathematics, we can calculate what does it cost? electrical power will be generated, and most importantly, at what rate, for a minimum of the next 20 years (fixed energy costs).

Frequently Asked Questions

Why Does Green Light No Give Me A Good Power Output For A Solar Panel Compared To Red And Blue?
I Carried Out An Experiment Using Different Coloured Solutions To See The Affect Of Wavelength On Power Output From A Silicon Photovoltaic Solar Panel. I Was Expecting To See A Peak Where The Efficiency Of The Wavelength And The Energy Of The Photons Were Optimum. However Instead I Found That From Wavelength In The Blue Region It Was A Fairly High Power Output Which Then Decreased Towards The Green Region And Then Increased Even Higher In The Red Region. I Have Made Sure I Kept The Intensities Of The Different Wavelengths Constant. What Could Be The Cause For This Dip In The Green Wavelength Region?

Silicon solar panels have their greatest sensitivity at the red end of the visible spectrum and in the near infrared. By contrast, the human eye is relatively more sensitive to the green part of the spectrum. Neither silicon nor human eyes are especially sensitive to the relatively short blue wavelengths, but your blue solution may also transmit a significant amount of red or infrared light, giving a comparatively high reading for the silicon's "blue" sensitivity.

Biofuels? Are These Biofuels?
Biogas Ethanol Hydrogen Electric Biodiesel Gasohol Rubbish My Teacher Told Us What They Were Im Just Not Sure If I Got It Down Correctly ... Please Help P.S Can You Help Me On These Questions About Electric? What Is It? What Raw Materials Are Needed To Produce It? How'S It Made? What Are Products When It'S Burned? Advantages Disadvantages Carbon Producing Or Carbon Neutral? If You Could Answer Any Of These Questions It Would Be Great Help To Me Thankyouu(: X

Biofuels are made from renewable biomass as opposed to fossil fuels like coal, oil, natural gas. In theory!

This is really a mess - a fuel may be carbon neutral to burn but not to produce (it could be though). This should be taken into consideration and most often it is'nt, tell your teacher that! There's very strong economical interests involved and these interests want to have control of what is what.

Take for example Gasohol, it's a mixture of ethanol and gasoline - ethanol is carbon netural to burn but not to produce and gasoline is made from petroleum, which is a fossil non renewable resource, yet it's called a "biofuel".....

Anyway, one good rule of thumb is that fossil fuels are carbon producing because they are not part of the "carbon cycle", they add carbon to our athmosphere as CO^2. We bring fossil fuels up from deep in the ground, through oil wells, coal mines and gas plants, and then we burn it at the earths surface. Fossil fuels have been out of the carbon cycle for millions of years and we humans bring it back in.

You misunderstand "electric" as what your teacher means is 'electric power'. That is not a fuel! You cannot burn electricity. Though there's many ways of producing electricity and one way is to burn fossil fuels in a coal plant, this way of making electricity is carbon producing. You can also make electricity in a nuclear plant which is a carbon neutral way of producing electricity, however you end up with radioactive waste. And, again, the methods of obtaining the resources (mainly uranium) may not be carbon neutral.

The best and cheapest way (that we do not use because the capitalist economy want to milk out the last bits of profits that can be made from petroleum first) is to use the sun as a source of energy, by building solar plants. To heat water, make electricity, make houses warm, power cars etc. The sun is a nuclear plant 1.6 million times larger than earth and we barely use it! It's a damn scandal. It produces no carbon or radioactive waste, it does not smell or make any noise, it does not pollute in any way and it will probably spew out energy long after the planet earth is gone.

Some people, lobbying for status quo in energy politics, claim that we have no useful batteries yet to store the energy and that it's too costly. It's not true, the modern Lithium/Ion batteries are amazing and there's also a new development on making them even more effective and the old acid lead batteries are completely renewable and works well! The cost of making solar plants is high in the short run, indeed, but they are long lasting and they produce energy at basically no cost! So they are the cheapest and best alternative in the long run. Besides, the way we look at costs and energy is usually flawed, it's not economically wise to use cheap dirty non renewable resources instead of clean expensive long lasting renewable resources. This is what you should learn in school!

Another great thing with sunenergy is that you can use it to warm water directly in "solar panels". It's almost too simple - you use black painted aluminium plates that is connected to copper pipes. The black surface absorbs energy from the sun and leads it to the copper pipes, with a small pump (driven by the sunenergy) you can circulate water in the pipes. You can build this yourself with cheap long lasting renewable materials.

PS: You're not supposed to know this your supposed to gladly buy the overpriced energy from the energy corporations!

Added:
As for rubbish - much of what we throw away is plastics and many of us use plastic bags to put rubbish in before we throw it. Most of the plastics and many plastic bags are made from petroleum. So, when we burn that rubbish, with plastics/petroleum in it, we add CO^2 from fossil fuels to the athmosphere. Tell your teacher that!

How Do Solar Plants And Hydroelectric Dams Generate Electricity?
Can Anyone Explain To Me In A Simple Way How Solar Plants And Hydroelectric Plants Generate Electricity? I'Ve Done Research, But I'M A Little Confused. Please Note, I Am Not Asking How Solar Panels Work. I Want To Know How Solar Plants Generate Electricity.

if you are talking about dams, than water passes through turbines which is basically a big underwater fan. as the water passes across the blades it makes it spin. the turbine is connected to a generator which makes electricity.

Solar plants. if your referring to oraganisms i cant help but a plant that doesnt use solar panels probably uses mirrors that are pointed at central point, usually a tower. All this light shines on the tower heating water until it boils. The hot, pressurized steam rushes over a turbine just as at the dam, and that runs a generator to make electricity.

Are Mobile Solar Chargers Worth It?
For My Nexus And Other Android And Mobile Devices, I Have Found Some Relatively Cheap Prices, But My Question, Is It Worth It?

They're really handy for an emergency, I charge it off my computer by usb when I can, much quicker, solar panels take a while before you can plug it into your phone. Just don't pay more than €20.

Tesla Powerwall Explained?
Alright Can Someone Explain The Tesla'S Powerwall. I Get What It Does For The Most Part But Is It Worth 3000 Atm. I Already Own Solar Panels And I Don'T Have Gas House As Everything Is Electric. I Hear That It Only Has An Output Of 2Kw And That Is Not Enough To Power You Whole House On Solar At A Time Those It Can Store 10Kw Per Powerwall. So My Main Question Is If Its Worth A $3000 Investment And How Many Powerwalls Would I Need To Go Off The Grid Or Mostly Off The Grid Like Only Like A 10-50 Dollar Electric Bill. Also Don'T Think This Matter But But My Bill Before Sp Was Like 300-350 But With Sp It Went Down A Bit More Than $100

I think it will eventually be worth it.

Currently, the way solar installations work is by providing power for the house during the day, but then selling excess power back to the power company. You then use the credits for selling your power during the day, to then buy power from the power company at night. However it gets more complicated since most people get more sun during the summer, and less sun during the winter. This is why the calculations are done to cover the entire year such that the total money earned by generating electricity equals (or comes VERY close to) the total amount of power you need to buy from the power company over the course of the year. (e.g. at night, or during cloudy winter days.)

If, instead, you want to redirect the electricity from your solar installation into the powerwall and then use the powerwall to power your house then the calculations are different since you want your solar installation to generate enough power to keep your house running through the night until the next day.

If each powerwall only stores 10KW then you'll probably need multiple powerwalls. For instance, my house averages about 1KW/h, when the whole year is considered. That means if I were to solely power my house from the powerwalls, I'd need at least 3 of them, and my solar installation would have to generate a total of at least 24KW every day during the day. That'd be an upfront cost of $9000, which assuming brought your bill down to $0 saving you $100/mo, this would take nearly 8 years to pay for itself.

IMHO, not worth it yet. Battery storage capacity and price will be dropping.
