What Our Customers are Saying

"We found all of the employees with whom we in contact from the sales representative to the installers to be knowledgeable and professional. All our questions were answered satisfactorily which is why we decided panels installed. We were also impressed with the company’s A+ rating by the Better Business Bureau.” – Pat S. – Boston

"Our first two bills were approximately $300.00 less than before and our third bill, just received was down about $250.00 from what we were paying! We think it is fantastic!" - William R. - Waltham MA

"They did a wonderful job on my system and I would recommend them to my family and friends!" - Georg S. - Chicopee MA

I cannot express my gratitude for going forward with solar panels. From the initial meeting to discuss the possibility to the techs who eventually installed them. But most of all, it is the savings we have experienced. That first month was unbelievable. Solar plus our other electric source combined was less than our usual monthly expense. During the summer when our electric usage is higher because of the air conditioning, our monthly expense was still less than what we have paid with past summer usage. And if that’s not enough…our present electricity is primarily supplied by the solar panels. We have been building up a reserve with our other electricity source and will be able to draw from that all winter when our panels wont’t generate as much electricity. It’s a win-win situation that we’re just thrilled over. Having a fixed rate locked in is another great feature for savings.” – Virgil T. – Westport MA

About Solar Energy

Solar power is energy from the sun that is transformed into thermal or electrical energy.

Solar energy is the cleanest and most abundant renewable resource source available, and the United States has some of the richest solar resources worldwide. Modern innovation can harness this energy for a variety of usages, consisting of producing electricity, supplying light or a comfortable interior environment, and heating water for domestic, commercial, or industrial usage.

Solar Benefits

Solar power makes it possible for resident to use the sun to power daily life: running your ac system, washing clothes, watching TELEVISION, cooking supper. All while lowering your carbon footprint, and without burning nonrenewable fuel sources or putting a stress on the electrical grid. And while the ecological advantages of solar power are significant, numerous home owners find that the convenience, unique features, and cost savings of owning a solar power system are a lot more alluring.

Top 10 Advantages of Solar Energy

#1 Significantly reduce or even remove your electric bills

Whether you're a property owner, company, or not-for-profit, electrical energy costs can make up a big part of your monthly expenses. With a solar panel system, you'll produce complimentary power for your system's whole 25+ year lifecycle. Even if you do not produce 100 percent of the energy you consume, solar will decrease your utility bills and you'll still save a great deal of cash.

#2 Make an excellent return on your financial investment

Photovoltaic panels aren't an expense-- they're one of the finest methods to invest, with returns measuring up to those of more traditional investments like stocks and bonds. Thanks to substantial electricity bill cost savings, the typical American homeowner pays off their photovoltaic panel system in seven to eight years and sees an ROI of 20 percent or more.

#3 Protect against rising energy expenses

One of the most clear cut advantages of photovoltaic panels is the capability to hedge energy prices. In the previous 10 years, domestic electrical power costs have actually gone up by an average of 3 percent every year. By purchasing a solar energy system now, you can fix your electrical power rate and secure against unforeseeable increases in electricity expenses. If you're an organisation or property owner with changing cash flow, going solar likewise assists you much better projection and handle your costs.

#4 Boost your residential or commercial property worth

Numerous studies have actually discovered that homes geared up with solar energy systems have higher home worths and offer quicker than non-solar homes. Appraisers are progressively taking solar installations into consideration as they value homes at the time of a sale, and as homebuyers end up being more educated about solar, demand for homes equipped with photovoltaic panel systems will continue to grow.

#5 Boost U.S. energy self-reliance

The sun is a near-infinite source of energy and an essential part of accomplishing energy independence in the United States. By increasing our capability to generate electrical energy from the sun, we can also insulate our nation from cost variations in worldwide energy markets.

#6 Develop jobs and help your regional economy

Inning accordance with The Solar Foundation, the solar industry added jobs at a rate almost 12 times faster than the overall U.S. economy in 2015, representing 1.2 percent of all tasks in the nation. This development is anticipated to continue. Due to the fact that solar-related jobs have the tendency to be higher paying and can not be contracted out, they are a considerable contributor to the United States economy.

#8 Demonstrate your commitment to sustainability

Sustainability and business social duty are important elements of a company's culture and values. They likewise produce bottom line results. Progressively, customers and neighborhoods are acknowledging and rewarding services that decide to operate responsibly. Businesses are discovering that "green" qualifications are an effective driver of customer buying choices, creating goodwill and enhancing business outcomes.

#9 Start Conserving from Day 1

Solar purchase power contracts (PPAs) and solar leasing has made it possible for homeowners to go solar for little or no loan down.

Numerous house owners choose to finance their solar panels with among the "pay-as-you-go" funding options. This suggests that a third-party company-- the solar company-- owns the solar system and takes care of setup, upkeep, monitoring and repairs. You simply pay the solar supplier for electrical power-- less than you would've paid the utility company.

As of June 2013, 75% of all American homes have access to pay-as-you-go solar.

#10. Solar is a Secure Investment

The energy companies are notorious for their varying and unreliable electrical energy prices. There is clearly an upward trend.

With photovoltaic panels and basic math, we can determine what does it cost? electricity will be produced, and most notably, at what price, for at least the next Twenty Years (fixed energy costs).

Is Using Solar Panels Cheaer Than Normal Electricity Or Is It Just A One Time Payment Then Your Done? Thanks.?

even cheaper if you build a solar panel yourself instead of buying them. here's how...

"STEP 1. SOLAR PANELS: or PV panels are the key to a hybrid system., converting the sun’s beams into electricity that we can use in the home. They come in many different sizes, shapes, power ranges and costs. We will focus on a 12v 50watt (4amp) panel, measuring appx 4 sq. ft. with a price range from $300-$500. ($340) ($299)"

"Retrieve a typical winter electric bill. You won’t need a summer bill, because by building a system that runs in winter, it’ll be proven for summer use where days are longer. Divide the total KWH (Kilowatt Hours) on the bill by 30 (giving you your Kilowatt Hour per day, or KWH/d consumption amount), now divide that by 10 (or the total average winter day hours in your area)(giving you KWH/h), now multiple that by 1000 (converting KWH/h to WH/h or watts)."

"Now that we know how many watts your systems requires, we need to know how many panels to use, along with an adequate- sized controller. For simplicity reasons, let’s use a typical 50w solar panel. We will divide your final “system requirement” results from above by 50 to tell us how many panels you'll need (hourly winter consumption watts / 50)."

"NOTE: Size (watts and feet) of panels is a personal choice and isn’t determined by any system requirements.
Mount panel/s flat (0 degree) facing south (if located in the north hemisphere). With a multimeter, measure the incoming amps (via pos cable to battery), slowly raise the top edge until the amps peak on your meter. Secure."

Hope this helped, feel free to contact me personally if you have any questions if you’d like assistance in making your first self sufficient steps, I’m willing to walk you step by step threw the process. I’ve written several how-to DIY guides available at www agua-luna com on the subject. I also offer online and on-site workshops, seminars and internships to help others help the environment.

What Is The Solar Energy?

Solar energy is the vibration of particles caused by radiant light from the sun. Solar energy is converted into "usable energy" in a number of different ways but the most predominate means of conversion is utilizing photo-voltaic cells.

These cells, essentially trap the "light" but not all of it. The more light these cells trap the higher the efficiency and the more power they can produce. The cells are compiled on a framework to form a "module" other wise known as a panel.

That energy is then sent to an inverter where it is converted from D/C power to a home ready A/C power.

In short solar energy is a free carbon neutral source of power.

How Do Solar Panels Work?
How Do Solar Panels Work?

Whether on a solar-powered calculator or an international space station, solar panels generate electricity using the same principles of electronics as chemical batteries or standard electrical outlets. With solar panels, it's all about the free flow of electrons through a circuit.

Hope this helps!

How Can I Power 15V Or .08 Amps In A Remote Loaction Via Solar Panel.?
I Need To Power A Series Of Meraki Wireless Repeaters That Plug Into A Standerd Wall Outlet. Consuming 15V Or .08 Amps However I Need This In A Remote Location (Like Out In The Middle Of Nowhere) Using A Solar Panel As Power Supply And A Battery To Store The Energy But, How And What Do I Use To Convert The Energy Coming From The Solar Panel To The Battery And The Batteries Power Supply To Match The Needs Of The Meraki Wireless Repeater? How Do I Make This As Compact As Possible? Do I Need A Ac/Dc Converter? Or Dc/Ac Converter? Any Suggestions Or Solutions Would Be Great !

Solar panels generate dc voltage/current.
No conversion from ac-dc is required.
You can attach the solar panel to the battery.
Then attach the load across the battery.
Observe the + & - signs on the panel, battery & radio.
Ideally, you would use a lead-acid gell cell for the battery.
A house alarm backup battery or walkway lighting battery.

The biggest problem is the charging current from the solar array.

If there's no charge regulator, the battery will see a large charging current during daylight hours.

A gell cell can survive the heat generated by this as long as the solar panel is not large.

You have to "size" the solar panel for the maximum charging current you think you'll need to replace the energy that the radio used at night.

In your case it doesn't need to be large to recover a mere 80 milliamps per hour draw with no sunlight.

Never connect the radio to the solar panel in daylight without the battery connected (if no regulator). The solar panel will output a no load voltage of 20-21v. This could damage the radio. The battery will load the solar panel down enough to only show 12-14v.

Although I always prefer the more elegant approach of using a charge regulator between a solar array & the battery / load, I have done as the above & just hooked the battery & radio directly to the solar array & left them to run.

The batterys still last several months in the Nevada summer sun & winter cold.

Additionally, your radio probably has sufficient regulators inside to operate on 13.8 -18v. As the battery gets older, it may not load the solar cells down enough to limit the voltage to 14v. The light load voltage may well rise to 15-18v (direct sunlight) as the battery becomes aged.

Protecting your investment should include a cheap solar panel regulator. It will also disconnect the radio from the solar cell / battery in case of a low battery condition.

This helps protect the battery from going completely dead & putting a heavy load on the solar cells as they attempt to recharge the battery.

The regulator also disconnects the radio if the voltage to the radio climbs above a set threshold. This protects the radio if the battery shoud go bad or open fuse / circuit & fail to load down the solar panel output voltage enough.

How Would You Connect A Solar Panel To A Fan?
I Would Like To Connect A Solar Panel To A Small Fan. I Am Not Sure As To What Is Needed To Actually &Quot;Connect&Quot; The Two Together. Any Help Is Appreciated.

Panels are rated nominally, and you can look at your fan to see what the ratings for the fam are to determine sizing of the panel.

Current multiplied by the volts (rated) gives you the wattage of the motor- just use this as a guide for sizing the panel. You do want a little more power from the panel than the motor draws for purposes of starting the motor and for having the fan operate at lower sun angles as well. You can add a battery if you chose, but it is not a requirement.

Just treat the leads of the panel like those of a battery red (+) and black (-) just connect those to the fan, if you match color for color, no problem. If the markings are not present and no wires are on the fan, try it one way, if it is the wrong way- reverse them.

AC operated fans will require an inverter to convert the DC to AC. These draw a certain amount of power as well. In general the same rules of thumb apply. It is just easier though to stick with a DC motor.
