What Our Customers are Saying

"We found all of the employees with whom we in contact from the sales representative to the installers to be knowledgeable and professional. All our questions were answered satisfactorily which is why we decided panels installed. We were also impressed with the company’s A+ rating by the Better Business Bureau.” – Pat S. – Boston

"Our first two bills were approximately $300.00 less than before and our third bill, just received was down about $250.00 from what we were paying! We think it is fantastic!" - William R. - Waltham MA

"They did a wonderful job on my system and I would recommend them to my family and friends!" - Georg S. - Chicopee MA

I cannot express my gratitude for going forward with solar panels. From the initial meeting to discuss the possibility to the techs who eventually installed them. But most of all, it is the savings we have experienced. That first month was unbelievable. Solar plus our other electric source combined was less than our usual monthly expense. During the summer when our electric usage is higher because of the air conditioning, our monthly expense was still less than what we have paid with past summer usage. And if that’s not enough…our present electricity is primarily supplied by the solar panels. We have been building up a reserve with our other electricity source and will be able to draw from that all winter when our panels wont’t generate as much electricity. It’s a win-win situation that we’re just thrilled over. Having a fixed rate locked in is another great feature for savings.” – Virgil T. – Westport MA

About Solar Energy

Solar power is energy from the sun that is transformed into thermal or electrical energy.

Solar energy is the cleanest and most abundant renewable resource source available, and the United States has some of the richest solar resources worldwide. Modern innovation can harness this energy for a variety of usages, consisting of producing electricity, supplying light or a comfortable interior environment, and heating water for domestic, commercial, or industrial usage.

Solar Benefits

Solar power makes it possible for property owner to utilize the sun to power everyday life: running your a/c, washing clothing, watching TV, cooking supper. All while reducing your carbon footprint, and without burning nonrenewable fuel sources or putting a pressure on the electrical grid. And while the ecological advantages of solar power are substantial, lots of residents discover that the benefit, distinct features, and expense savings of owning a solar power system are even more attractive.

Top 10 Benefits of Solar Energy

#1 Significantly minimize or perhaps eliminate your electrical bills

Whether you're a house owner, organization, or not-for-profit, electrical power costs can make up a big part of your month-to-month expenses. With a photovoltaic panel system, you'll generate complimentary power for your system's entire 25+ year lifecycle. Even if you don't produce One Hundred Percent of the energy you take in, solar will lower your energy bills and you'll still save a great deal of cash.

#2 Make an excellent return on your financial investment

Solar panels aren't an expenditure-- they're one of the best methods to invest, with returns measuring up to those of more standard investments like stocks and bonds. Thanks to considerable electricity expense savings, the average American house owner settles their solar panel system in seven to 8 years and sees an ROI of 20 percent or more.

#3 Safeguard against rising energy expenses

One of the most clear cut advantages of photovoltaic panels is the ability to hedge energy prices. In the past ten years, domestic electrical energy rates have gone up by an average of 3 percent each year. By purchasing a solar energy system now, you can fix your electricity rate and safeguard versus unpredictable boosts in electricity costs. If you're an organisation or property owner with changing capital, going solar likewise assists you much better forecast and handle your expenditures.

#4 Boost your house value

Numerous research studies have found that homes equipped with solar energy systems have greater property values and offer faster than non-solar houses. Appraisers are progressively taking solar installations into consideration as they value houses at the time of a sale, and as homebuyers end up being more informed about solar, need for properties geared up with photovoltaic panel systems will continue to grow.

#5 Increase U.S. energy independence

The sun is a near-infinite source of energy and an essential part of accomplishing energy self-reliance in the United States. By increasing our capability to produce electrical energy from the sun, we can likewise insulate our nation from price variations in international energy markets.

#6 Create jobs and assist your regional economy

According to The Solar Structure, the solar industry added tasks at a rate nearly 12 times faster than the general U.S. economy in 2015, representing 1.2 percent of all tasks in the country. This development is anticipated to continue. Due to the fact that solar-related jobs have the tendency to be higher paying and can not be outsourced, they are a substantial factor to the U.S. economy.

#7 Safeguard the environment

Solar is a great way to lower your carbon footprint. Buildings are accountable for 38 percent of all carbon emissions in the United States, and going solar can substantially reduce that number. A normal domestic solar panel system will eliminate 3 to four heaps of carbon emissions each year-- the equivalent of planting over 100 trees annually.

#8 Demonstrate your dedication to sustainability

Sustainability and corporate social obligation are necessary parts of an organization's culture and worths. They also produce bottom line results. Significantly, consumers and neighborhoods are acknowledging and rewarding companies that opt to operate responsibly. Businesses are discovering that "green" qualifications are a powerful driver of customer acquiring choices, developing goodwill and enhancing service outcomes.

#9 Start Saving from Day 1

Solar purchase power agreements (PPAs) and solar leasing has actually made it possible for house owners to go solar for little or no money down.

Numerous homeowners decide to finance their photovoltaic panels with one of the "pay-as-you-go" financing alternatives. This indicates that a third-party business-- the solar provider-- owns the solar system and takes care of setup, maintenance, tracking and repair works. You simply pay the solar service provider for electrical power-- less than you would've paid the utility business.

Since June 2013, 75% of all American houses have access to pay-as-you-go solar.

#10. Solar is a Secure Investment

The utility business are notorious for their fluctuating and undependable electricity costs. There is plainly an upward trend.

With photovoltaic panels and basic math, we can calculate how much electrical energy will be created, and most importantly, at exactly what cost, for at least the next Twenty Years (repaired energy costs).

Frequently Asked Questions

Which One Of The Energy Sources Should Be Used As The Primary Energy Source For San Diego?
Fossil Fuel, Nuclear Fission, Solar, Wind, Hydroelectric, Geothermal, Biomass, Tidal Explain Why That Particular Energy Source Is Preferred Over All The Others. (Describe This In Terms Of Practicality, Environmental Concerns, And Cost Effectiveness.)

I would definitely go with solar, wind, geothermal, and biomass. Nuclear fission isn't bad, but that shouldn't be their only source. Fossil fuel should be avoided at all costs. Tidal sounds great for San Diego, but they don't have the right kinds of currents there. However, I think it might be best if they invested in wave power. That's very efficient, too.

Why Don'T We Use Solar Energy To Get To Mars?
If They Did How Long Would It Take To Get There?

Joe Blow mostly hit the nail on the head.

You would need a vast solar sail to get any appreciable force enough to push you. The most fuel efficient path from Earth to Mars is something known as a Hohmann Transfer. Essentially you leave earth and enter a circular orbit around the sun at a radius of 1 AU, then you accelerate until you're launched into an orbit at 1.5 AU (the distance mars orbits at) where you conveniently meet up with Mars who happens to be on the opposite side of a full orbit.

First off, in space nothing slows you down, so you only need an acceleration for a short time, then you can coast for a while. A solar sail would never be able to produce appreciable accelerations such that this trip would be possible, especially for larger ships or voyages in the future that might entail human transport.

Secondly, solar sails can only push you in one direction -- away from the sun. That means even a Hohmann Transfer wouldn't be possible with a solar sail. You would have to leave Earth and move outwards hoping to hit Mars as you travel away from the sun. The chances of this are very very slim. Even if you did all your calculations and timed it just right, it'd be a long shot and such a planetary alignment would not occur frequently enough to allow for it's every day usage.

In summation, it would be a very slow and ineffectual way to travel between planets and it would almost certainly fail if attempted.

Enacted in August 1997, this personal income tax credit originally applied to expenditures on solar-electric (PV) equipment used on residential property. The credit, equal to 25% percent of the cost of equipment and installation, was expanded in August 2005 to include solar-thermal equipment. The solar-thermal provisions apply to taxable years beginning on and after January 1, 2006. The credit is capped at $3,750 for solar-energy systems placed in service before September 1, 2006, and capped at $5,000 for solar-energy systems placed in service on or after September 1, 2006.
Solar-energy equipment is defined as "an arrangement or combination of components utilizing solar radiation, which, when installed in a residence, produces energy designed to provide heating, cooling, hot water or electricity." The credit may not be used for pool heating or other recreational applications. Any amount of credit that exceeds a taxpayer's liability in a given tax year may be carried forward for the five following taxable years. Any portion of the system cost provided by a non-taxable federal, state, or local grant is not eligible for this credit.
Systems must comply with the 10 kW capacity limit on residential, net-metered solar-energy systems*. In 2007, legislation was passed increasing the capacity limit to 50 kW for condominiums and cooperative housing associations. In addition, members of condominium management associations and tenant stockholders of cooperative housing associations are now allowed to claim a proportionate share of the total system expense towards the tax credit. These changes took effect beginning in the 2007 tax year, but as with other portions of the tax credit, they do not have an expiration date.
*The language of the tax credit generally requires that PV systems conform to the state's net metering law, thereby limiting system size to 10 kW. In August 2008, the state net metering law was expanded by S.B. 7171 to permit net metering for residential PV systems up to 25 KW. It is unclear at this point whether the state intends for the new net metering limits to apply to the tax credit described above. The 2009 Solar Tax Credit Form IT-255 does not specifically address this issue.

If Us Oil Consumption Is Increasing, And Fuel Efficiency Is Decreasing, How Can We Guarantee A Stable Energy?
How Has Our Lack Of Planning Impacted Us Now And Future Generations?

To see what our oil dependence is really costing us, go to these websites to read about the
exorbitant hidden costs and subsidies of fossil fuels. The subsidies are several times bigger than for all alternative energy combined.

If Detroit would mass produce plug in hybrid vehicles we could vastly improve efficiency, saving money and using energy from the grid for charging. The grid can handle the extra load, because most of the charging would be done at night, during off peak hours.

Plug in Partner has lots of info on the advantages of (PHEVs) plug in hybrids. They also have a petition you can sign to encourage the use of these.

http://www.pluginpartners.org/

The grid is already much cleaner than burning gasoline or diesel. The grid will become cleaner as we adopt alternative energy on a wider scale.
There is no shortage of solutions, there is only a shortage of political will.

This link has some sensible talk about our energy future. "A Blueprint for U.S. Energy Security"
http://www.setamericafree.org/blueprint.pdf

"Since fifty-percent of cars on the road in the United States are driven 20 miles
a day or less, a plug-in with a 20-mile range battery would reduce fuel consumption by, on
average, 85%. Plug-in hybrid electric vehicles can reach fuel economy levels of 100 miles
per gallon of gasoline consumed."

Most people would be able to commute back and forth to work, hardly using any gasoline. Yet they would have unlimited range wherever there is fuel.

Hybrid buses are being built with microturbine and electric drive. The microturbine runs on natural gas, is highly efficient and needs almost no maintenance with one moving part riding on an air cushion bearing. Air cooled. No lubrication required. Capstone Turbine makes the microturbines.

There is a mountain of dis-information about the potential of alternative energy. For instance, we are told by talking heads on FOX news that solar has no potential to contribute meaningfully to our energy needs, which couldn't be further from the truth.
Actually, 1% of our southwest desert areas, filled with solar power plants would power the whole country with current technology at competitive prices with existing power sources. That is less land than currently used just for coal mines.

Scientific American A Solar Grand Plan
http://www.sciam.com/article.cfm?id=a-solar-grand-plan a good example of what we can do if we set our minds to it.

Here's what one solar thermal power plant company has to say.

"Solar thermal power plants such as Ausra's generate electricity by driving steam turbines with sunshine. Ausra's solar concentrators boil water with focused sunlight, and produce electricity at prices directly competitive with gas- and coal-fired electric power."

"All of America's needs for electric power – the entire US grid, night and day – can be generated with Ausra's current technology using a square parcel of land 92 miles on a side. For comparison, this is less than 1% of America's deserts, less land than currently in use in the U.S. for coal mines."

http://www.ausra.com

Electric cars are already appropriate for short range local delivery, city cars, job trucks on farms etc. Phoenix Motorcars small pickup gets 130 mile range and they will improve on that.

As the grid becomes cleaner, electric cars will make more and more sense.

Pacific Gas & Electric just signed another deal for solar thermal power plants, in the Mojave desert, with Brightsource for 900 megawatts, bringing the total deals in the last year to over 2 gigawatts. It's just the beginning. Read more at Green Wombat. Scroll down for several stories on solar power plants in California.

http://blogs.business2.com/greenwombat/

"The solar thermal industry is in its infancy but utilities like PG&E (PCG), Southern California Edison (EIX) and San Diego Gas & Electric (SRE) have signed several contracts for solar power plants and negotiations for gigawatts more of solar electricity are ongoing."

"The same acre can produce 10 times as much energy from wind as it can from corn ethanol, 180,000 miles per acre per year. But both corn ethanol and wind power pale in comparison with solar photovoltaic, which can produce more than 2 million miles worth of transport per acre per year." http://www.ecogeek.org/content/view/1454/70/

"I'd put my money on the sun & solar energy. What a source of power! I hope we don't have to wait until oil and coal run out before we tackle that." Thomas Edison, 1931

"In contrast, solar, wind, and conservation all have shorter lead times, a fiscal advantage not sufficiently appreciated, especially in uncertain economic environments like the present. So in addition to loving these options for being "green," planners can also love them for being "just in time."

Wind

"In the US, the American Wind Energy Association forecasts that installed capacity could grow from 11,603 MW today to around 100,000 MW by 2020. In Canada, Emerging Energy Research predicts that installed wind capacity will expand from around 1,500 MW today to around 14,000 MW by 2015."

fossil fuels is actually solar energy stored millions and millions of years ago. Indirectly, the sun or other are responsible for all our energy. Even nuclear energy comes from a star because the uranium atomsused in nuclear energy were created in the fury of a nova - a star exploding. Let's look at ways in which we can use the solar energy.
