What Our Customers are Saying

"We found all of the employees with whom we in contact from the sales representative to the installers to be knowledgeable and professional. All our questions were answered satisfactorily which is why we decided panels installed. We were also impressed with the company’s A+ rating by the Better Business Bureau.” – Pat S. – Boston

"Our first two bills were approximately $300.00 less than before and our third bill, just received was down about $250.00 from what we were paying! We think it is fantastic!" - William R. - Waltham MA

"They did a wonderful job on my system and I would recommend them to my family and friends!" - Georg S. - Chicopee MA

I cannot express my gratitude for going forward with solar panels. From the initial meeting to discuss the possibility to the techs who eventually installed them. But most of all, it is the savings we have experienced. That first month was unbelievable. Solar plus our other electric source combined was less than our usual monthly expense. During the summer when our electric usage is higher because of the air conditioning, our monthly expense was still less than what we have paid with past summer usage. And if that’s not enough…our present electricity is primarily supplied by the solar panels. We have been building up a reserve with our other electricity source and will be able to draw from that all winter when our panels wont’t generate as much electricity. It’s a win-win situation that we’re just thrilled over. Having a fixed rate locked in is another great feature for savings.” – Virgil T. – Westport MA

About Solar Energy

Solar power is energy from the sun that is transformed into thermal or electrical energy.

Solar energy is the cleanest and most abundant renewable resource source available, and the United States has some of the richest solar resources worldwide. Modern innovation can harness this energy for a variety of usages, consisting of producing electricity, supplying light or a comfortable interior environment, and heating water for domestic, commercial, or industrial usage.

Solar Benefits

Solar power makes it possible for homeowner to utilize the sun to power everyday life: running your a/c unit, cleaning clothes, watching TV, cooking supper. All while minimizing your carbon footprint, and without burning fossil fuels or putting a strain on the electrical grid. And while the ecological benefits of solar power are considerable, lots of home owners find that the convenience, special functions, and expense savings of owning a solar power system are much more alluring.

Top Ten Benefits of Solar Energy

#1 Dramatically decrease and even remove your electric costs

Whether you're a homeowner, company, or nonprofit, electrical power expenses can make up a big part of your month-to-month costs. With a photovoltaic panel system, you'll create totally free power for your system's entire 25+ year lifecycle. Even if you do not produce One Hundred Percent of the energy you consume, solar will minimize your utility expenses and you'll still conserve a lot of cash.

#2 Make a fantastic return on your investment

Photovoltaic panels aren't an expenditure-- they're one of the best ways to invest, with returns equaling those of more traditional financial investments like stocks and bonds. Thanks to significant electrical energy expense savings, the typical American property owner settles their photovoltaic panel system in 7 to 8 years and sees an ROI of 20 percent or more.

#3 Protect against increasing energy costs

Among the most clear cut benefits of photovoltaic panels is the capability to hedge energy prices. In the past 10 years, domestic electrical power rates have gone up by approximately 3 percent every year. By purchasing a solar energy system now, you can repair your electrical power rate and secure against unpredictable increases in electricity expenses. If you're an organisation or homeowner with fluctuating cash circulation, going solar also helps you much better forecast and handle your expenses.

#4 Increase your home value

Several research studies have found that houses geared up with solar energy systems have higher residential or commercial property worths and offer quicker than non-solar houses. Appraisers are progressively taking solar setups into consideration as they value homes at the time of a sale, and as homebuyers become more informed about solar, demand for homes equipped with solar panel systems will continue to grow.

#5 Increase U.S. energy independence

The sun is a near-infinite source of energy and a crucial component of accomplishing energy independence in the United States. By increasing our capacity to produce electrical energy from the sun, we can also insulate our country from cost fluctuations in worldwide energy markets.

#6 Develop jobs and help your regional economy

According to The Solar Foundation, the solar market added jobs at a rate almost 12 times faster than the total U.S. economy in 2015, representing 1.2 percent of all jobs in the nation. This growth is expected to continue. Because solar-related tasks tend to be greater paying and can not be outsourced, they are a considerable factor to the United States economy.

#7 Safeguard the environment

Solar is an excellent way to reduce your carbon footprint. Structures are accountable for 38 percent of all carbon emissions in the U.S., and going solar can substantially decrease that number. A common domestic solar panel system will remove three to four loads of carbon emissions each year-- the equivalent of planting over 100 trees annually.

#8 Demonstrate your commitment to sustainability

Sustainability and corporate social duty are very important parts of a company's culture and values. They also produce bottom line outcomes. Increasingly, consumers and communities are recognizing and rewarding businesses that decide to operate responsibly. Businesses are finding that "green" qualifications are an effective chauffeur of consumer getting choices, developing goodwill and improving organisation outcomes.

#9 Start Saving from Day 1

Solar purchase power agreements (PPAs) and solar leasing has made it possible for house owners to go solar for little or no cash down.

Numerous homeowners decide to fund their photovoltaic panels with one of the "pay-as-you-go" financing options. This implies that a third-party company-- the solar provider-- owns the solar system and looks after installation, upkeep, tracking and repairs. You merely pay the solar provider for electrical power-- less than you would've paid the energy business.

As of June 2013, 75% of all American houses have access to pay-as-you-go solar.

#10. Solar is a Secure Financial investment

The utility business are infamous for their fluctuating and undependable electricity rates. There is clearly an upward pattern.

With photovoltaic panels and simple math, we can calculate how much electrical energy will be created, and most importantly, at exactly what cost, for at least the next Twenty Years (repaired energy costs).

Frequently Asked Questions

What Is The Most Energy Efficient Car?
The Car Does Not Necessarily Have To Be Available To The Consumer Or Be Fully Operational/ Finished. I Was Just Curious How Efficient Some Of The Newer Vehicles Comming Out Are And What Type Of Gas Mileage They Receive.

Hydrogen cars. Electric are second best. Hydrogen cars do not he range and weight problems of electric cars but have an introduction problem.
Hydrogen could be MADE at every gas station using electrolysis using water and surplus electricity, when the power company dictates. This also improves the efficiency of power plants.
Hydrogen also has the potential of being made at home, overnight, like in the gas stations. Also, there is the possibility of using roof solar panels to provide the electricity to make the Hydrogen at noon time, when the house may be empty, the storage of Hydrogen is a lot easier now than it was last year. There is a new nanotechnology way of doing but it is not in the market, yet..
Whatever Hydrogen is not used for the family car, would be available to make electricity and reduce the amount of energy bought from the power company. And, further reduce the need to build more powerplants.

Where Does Light Energy Come From?
Why Are Headlights (On A Car) Considered Light Energy? Like, Most Light Energy Comes From The Sun, So What Creates Artificial Light Energy? Also, If You Can, Try To Put Your Answer In A Simple Form So That An 8Th Grader Will Understand It! Thanks:)

First, there is NO "light energy" - light IS a form of energy.

When you use the headlights on a car, the energy to give the light comes from either the electricity stored in a battery, or being generated by the engine. The lights also give off energy as heat (another energy form). Energy also goes from the engine to the wheels, to provide motion - energy being used to do work.

Energy from the sun can be captured by solar panels, which use a photo-electric effect to take the energy we see as light and store it in a battery of some form.

So, we keep converting energy from one form to another. and that's how we can get artificial light.

What Solar Panel Do I Need?
During The Summer My House Uses About 1.47 Kw/H I Am Wondering What Solar Panel Do I Need To Cover Most Or All The Electric Bill. A Link Would Be Helpful Too :)

If you are installing a full system, you need to factor in the fact the sun is not always shining, and may not be shining everyday at full strength.

There is no hard and fast rule for sizing systems, but if you factor in the amount of time you are not using power during the day, the panels can be charging batteries. So your 1.5 Kw of usage if it were spread over 24 hours becomes maybe about 60 watts/hour, if you were to add into the plan if you are able a wind plant: a 400 watt wind plant with about 400 Watts of panel Is probably the minimum of what you want to have taking into account the average amount of sun per day on average is 6 hours to account for the cloudy days. Otherwise figure for 800 watts of solar panels to cover for the days the sun is not shining, and that may not be enough.

If you are planning to be off grid, probably 800 to 1000 Watts of panels could work, along with some of your changes to usage habits, etc.

If you are planning to be grid tied, check with your power utility, because they may have a program to help cover some cost of installing solar or wind. Some utilities do have incentive to promote those programs. Expect to shell out 30,000.00 to 40,000.00 (US) for a basic system under a
power utility program. So weigh the cost versus how long you plan to stay there. If you are going to move in 5 years or less, get a number of small panells in a quantity you can afford. If you do not know enough electronics to make your own regulator and control circuits, then factor in for a charge controller of adequate size. They operate on the same principles, so going with the cheapest ones is just fine. And do not forget to get batteries and remember to check them periodically.

The Universal Electric Code has addressed these types of low voltage installations, so it would be a good idea to familiarize yourself with those specs. In some areas inspections may be mandatory, especially if you plan on having insurance. If you are paying a mortgage, Insurance is often mandatory. Having it inspected also get you off the hook when it comes time to sell because some modifications can eliminate any chance at financing for most people.

You can get some good ideas from http://www.builditsolar.com If you just want something that reads like a compilation of sales brochures, pick up a copy of Homepower magazine. For suppliers, http://www.northerntool.com

If you have a fair chunk of money to drop on a standing seam steel roof, check out who "Powerfilm" has as their preferred installers for their roofing panels.

What Are Engineering Challenges To Develop Solar Energy For Comfort/Home Uses?
What Are Engineering Challenges To Develop Solar Energy For Comfort/Home Uses?

Solar is an old technology now and is fairly developed. Cost is a bit of a barrier but that is coming down quickly. Production scale could also be considered a barrier, as the industry can't yet make enough solar panels to satisfy demand. The panels themselves are limited in how much energy they can take out of the sun's rays, but they are getting better at this. Materials are a big thing now, mostly in trying out different materials and structures in the cells to bring down the cost and boost the efficiency.
I came accross a new, proven and tested home made wind power system and solar power system which eliminates our electricity bills. It was written by a Renewable energy enthusiasts Michael Harvey the diy called Earth4energy. You can get your copy to save energy and help environment while eliminating your power bills. If You Buy A Solar Panel, Does The Electric Company Send You Checks For The Electricity?
I Heard From A Friend That If You Buy Solar Panels And They Generate More Electricity Than You Use Then The Extra Will Be Sold To The Electric Company And You Will Receive A Check. Is This True?

In my state, they just credit your bill with what you produce. I guess you could install a system that produces more than you use, but that would be very silly because the power you produce would cost you a lot more than what you can buy it for on the grid.

Fact - Solar is NOT FREE. Fact - Solar power for most people will cost MORE than grid power, even with federal and state subsidies using our Tax Dollars.

Solar Power is great for the well off who can afford it to help the environment, but please do not take my hard earned tax dollars to help the well off that can afford it to get richer. If we are going to subsidize, then help the people that NEED the help. Lets buy solar for a poor single mom trying to get by. This way we help the environment, AND help someone have a better life.
