Solar power makes it possible for resident to utilize the sun to power everyday life: running your air conditioning unit, washing clothes, enjoying TELEVISION, cooking supper. All while decreasing your carbon footprint, and without burning fossil fuels or putting a strain on the electrical grid. And while the environmental benefits of solar power are substantial, many homeowners discover that the convenience, unique features, and expense savings of owning a solar power system are much more alluring.
Top 10 Benefits of Solar Energy
#1 Drastically minimize and even remove your electrical bills
Whether you're a property owner, company, or not-for-profit, electrical power expenses can make up a large part of your monthly expenses. With a solar panel system, you'll generate free power for your system's whole 25+ year lifecycle. Even if you don't produce 100 percent of the energy you take in, solar will decrease your energy costs and you'll still save a great deal of loan.
#2 Earn an excellent return on your investment
Photovoltaic panels aren't an expense-- they're one of the best ways to invest, with returns measuring up to those of more standard financial investments like stocks and bonds. Thanks to substantial electrical energy expense cost savings, the average American house owner pays off their photovoltaic panel system in 7 to 8 years and sees an ROI of 20 percent or more.
#3 Protect versus increasing energy expenses
Among the most clear cut benefits of solar panels is the ability to hedge energy costs. In the previous ten years, residential electrical power prices have increased by an average of three percent every year. By investing in a solar energy system now, you can fix your electricity rate and safeguard versus unpredictable increases in electricity costs. If you're a service or property owner with fluctuating money circulation, going solar likewise helps you better projection and handle your costs.
#4 Increase your home or business worth
Several research studies have found that homes geared up with solar energy systems have greater residential or commercial property values and sell more rapidly than non-solar homes. Appraisers are progressively taking solar installations into consideration as they value houses at the time of a sale, and as property buyers end up being more educated about solar, demand for residential or commercial properties equipped with photovoltaic panel systems will continue to grow.
#5 Increase U.S. energy self-reliance
The sun is a near-infinite source of energy and a crucial part of achieving energy independence in the United States. By increasing our capacity to generate electrical power from the sun, we can likewise insulate our nation from rate fluctuations in global energy markets.
#6 Create jobs and help your local economy
According to The Solar Foundation, the solar industry added jobs at a rate nearly 12 times faster than the overall U.S. economy in 2015, representing 1.2 percent of all tasks in the country. This growth is anticipated to continue. Since solar-related tasks tend to be higher paying and can not be contracted out, they are a substantial contributor to the U.S. economy.
#7 Secure the environment
Solar is an excellent way to minimize your carbon footprint. Buildings are accountable for 38 percent of all carbon emissions in the United States, and going solar can substantially decrease that number. A typical property photovoltaic panel system will eliminate 3 to 4 loads of carbon emissions each year-- the equivalent of planting over 100 trees yearly.
#8 Show your commitment to sustainability
Sustainability and business social duty are necessary components of an organization's culture and values. They likewise produce bottom line outcomes. Significantly, customers and communities are recognizing and rewarding businesses that pick to operate properly. Services are finding that "green" qualifications are an effective driver of consumer buying choices, creating goodwill and enhancing service results.
#9 Start Saving from Day 1
Solar purchase power arrangements (PPAs) and solar leasing has made it possible for property owners to go solar for little or no loan down.
Lots of homeowners decide to finance their photovoltaic panels with one of the "pay-as-you-go" funding alternatives. This suggests that a third-party company-- the solar supplier-- owns the planetary system and looks after setup, upkeep, monitoring and repairs. You merely pay the solar company for electrical energy-- less than you would've paid the energy business.
As of June 2013, 75% of all American homes have access to pay-as-you-go solar.
#10. Solar is a Secure Financial investment
The energy business are well-known for their changing and unreliable electrical energy rates. There is clearly an upward trend.

Frequently Asked Questions
What Direction Should Solar Panels Face If Built In The Southern Hemisphere?
If Solar Panels Were On A Solar Home Built In The Southern Hemisphere, Should They Face North, South, East, Or West? And Why?
I have mine facing North. They work fine. I'm at 38deg South.
Who Is The Best Person To Use To Advertise Solar Panel?
So, Okay, I'M Doing A Project In My Economic Class, And I Must Choose A Product To Sell, And The Product Must Be Profitable.
So I Chose Solar Panels As The Product I'M Selling. But The Project Has To Have Both Persuasive And Informative Advertising Methods. I'M Having A Hard Time Finding A Famous Person To Advertise My Product. The Person That'S In My Mind Right Now Is Al Gore.
Is There Anyone Else I Could Use To Advertise The Solar Panel, My Products?
Thanks A Lot!
Bill Nye The Science Guy... He actually has them too - I saw a show on TV with him in it and he was talking about his solar panels lol
When Will Solar And Wind Power Be Affordable To The Average Home Owner?
I Have Been Doing Some Research On Solar Panel And Wind Turbine Systems. The Pricing Is Crazy. For A 10Kw Solar Grid Tie Kit System Is Between $35,000 And $40,000. If You Install Batteries Add $3,000-$5,000. 10Kw Will Only Power A Small To Medium Home Without Electric Heat. Using My Electric Usage And Info From My Local Electric Company Payback Is 60 Years For Solar And 361 Years For Wind. This Is Unexceptionable. The Manufactures Of The Solar And Wind Are Gouging The Consumers. They Are Using The Excuse Of Supply And Demand For The High Cost. When Demand Goes Up So Will Mass Production And The Price Will Go Down. This Is True, But They Are Making A Huge Profit On What They Are Making Now. Some Items Are In The 3000% Markup Range. Are The Power Companies Keeping The Price Up So Their Profits Don'T Suffer? My Local Electric Supplier Has An &Quot;Energy Park&Quot; That You Can Go See Solar And Wind Power In Action And Check Out Real Time Data Online. They Have A 4Kw Solar Array Installed And Claim It Cost $30,378 Installed And A 2.5Kw Wind Turbine That Cost About $20,000 Installed. I Think They Are Giving False Numbers To Consumers So You Won'T Go Green. I Was Able To Find A 3.5Kw Kit Online For $9,000. This Doesn'T Include Any Type Of Mounting Materials. You Can Add $800-$1,200 For These Materials. An Installer Will Will Charge You $2,000-$4,000 To Install It. For The Sake Of Argument Lets Say This Will Cost You $15,000 To Install But Still Way Out Of Line For You And Me To Install. That Is A Far Cry From The $30,000 The Power Company Claims. The Power Companies Don'T Want You To Make Your Own Electric. They Are Keeping The Cost High So They Will Still Make Money Off You. A 210W Panel Sells For Around $600. They Probably Manufacture It For Under $50. The Cost Needs To Be $100-$150 To The Consumer To Make It Affordable To The Average Home Owner. 50 210W Panels Make A 10Kw System. That Would Be $5,000 Not $40,000. The Manufactures Are Raping Us And The Power Companies Are Helping Them To Keep Prices High. When Will We Get The Technology At A Proper Cost? Let Me Know What You Think.
Cut the incentives, import tarriffs, and special grind tie rates. That will make prices truly competitive for those that want to participate in home green energy, and not put any cost on those that do not want to.
The important thing is the incentives, which artificially raise the prices of equipment.
Why Solar Panels Are So Expensive?
? I Mean . Why
Because current solar panels depend on ultra pure silicon which is extremely expensive to process. Some companies such as First Solar however use other materials to make there panels less expensive.
Where Can I Get My Solar Light Repaired?
I Have 2 Solar Spotlights Aimed At My Weeping Cherry Tree. Each Has Approximately 5 Feet Of Solar Wire Which Connects To One Solar Panel. I Chose To Drape The Wire Loosely Over Some Ground Cover I Have Under The Tree. Unfortunately, A Cute Little Rabbit Chewed The Wires On One Of The Spotlights So I Need To Have The Wire Replaced? I Did Not Purchase These Spotlights At Either Home Depot Or Lowe'S But Was Wondering If The Solar Wire Is Sold There. I Paid $80.00 For The Spotlights So You Can Understand Why I'M Not Willing To Just Trash Them. If I Can At Least Find The Wire, I Would Attempt Repairing Them Myself.
Any Suggestions Would Be Greatly Appreciated.
You should be able to get the wire from Lowe's.I believe they have it in stock take it with you to compare. If all else fails they can order you some.
