About Solar Energy
Solar power is energy from the sun that is transformed into thermal or electrical energy.
Solar energy is the cleanest and most abundant renewable resource source available, and the United States has some of the richest solar resources worldwide. Modern innovation can harness this energy for a variety of usages, consisting of producing electricity, supplying light or a comfortable interior environment, and heating water for domestic, commercial, or industrial usage.
Solar power makes it possible for property owner to utilize the sun to power everyday life: running your a/c, cleaning clothing, enjoying TELEVISION, cooking supper. All while minimizing your carbon footprint, and without burning fossil fuels or putting a stress on the electrical grid. And while the environmental benefits of solar power are significant, numerous property owners find that the benefit, unique functions, and cost savings of owning a solar power system are even more attractive.
Leading Benefits of Solar Energy
#1 Considerably decrease or even remove your electrical costs
Whether you're a house owner, business, or nonprofit, electrical energy expenses can make up a big portion of your monthly expenses. With a photovoltaic panel system, you'll produce free power for your system's whole 25+ year lifecycle. Even if you don't produce 100 percent of the energy you consume, solar will decrease your utility costs and you'll still conserve a great deal of cash.
#2 Earn an excellent return on your investment
Solar panels aren't an expense-- they're one of the best ways to invest, with returns equaling those of more conventional financial investments like stocks and bonds. Thanks to significant electricity expense savings, the typical American homeowner pays off their solar panel system in 7 to eight years and sees an ROI of 20 percent or more.
#3 Protect versus rising energy expenses
One of the most clear cut advantages of photovoltaic panels is the ability to hedge energy prices. In the past ten years, residential electrical energy prices have actually increased by approximately three percent annually. By purchasing a solar energy system now, you can fix your electrical power rate and safeguard against unpredictable increases in electrical power costs. If you're an organisation or property owner with changing capital, going solar likewise helps you much better forecast and handle your expenditures.
#4 Boost your home or business worth
Several research studies have actually discovered that homes equipped with solar energy systems have higher residential or commercial property values and offer quicker than non-solar homes. Appraisers are increasingly taking solar installations into consideration as they value houses at the time of a sale, and as homebuyers become more educated about solar, demand for properties geared up with photovoltaic panel systems will continue to grow.
#5 Increase U.S. energy self-reliance
The sun is a near-infinite source of energy and a key component of achieving energy independence in the United States. By increasing our capacity to create electricity from the sun, we can also insulate our nation from rate variations in international energy markets.
#6 Create jobs and assist your regional economy
Inning accordance with The Solar Structure, the solar industry included jobs at a rate nearly 12 times faster than the general U.S. economy in 2015, representing 1.2 percent of all tasks in the country. This growth is anticipated to continue. Since solar-related tasks tend to be greater paying and can not be contracted out, they are a significant contributor to the U.S. economy.
#7 Safeguard the environment
Solar is a terrific method to decrease your carbon footprint. Structures are accountable for 38 percent of all carbon emissions in the United States, and going solar can considerably reduce that number. A common residential photovoltaic panel system will get rid of three to four tons of carbon emissions each year-- the equivalent of planting over 100 trees yearly.
#8 Show your commitment to sustainability
Sustainability and business social responsibility are essential parts of an organization's culture and worths. They also produce bottom line results. Significantly, customers and neighborhoods are recognizing and rewarding organisations that decide to operate properly. Businesses are finding that "green" credentials are a powerful chauffeur of customer acquiring choices, producing goodwill and enhancing business results.
#9 Start Saving from Day 1
Solar purchase power contracts (PPAs) and solar leasing has actually made it possible for house owners to go solar for little or no cash down.
Lots of house owners select to fund their photovoltaic panels with one of the "pay-as-you-go" funding choices. This suggests that a third-party company-- the solar supplier-- owns the planetary system and looks after setup, maintenance, monitoring and repairs. You merely pay the solar service provider for electrical energy-- less than you would've paid the utility company.
Since June 2013, 75% of all American houses have access to pay-as-you-go solar.
#10. Solar is a Secure Investment
The utility companies are notorious for their changing and unreliable electricity costs. There is plainly an upward pattern.
With photovoltaic panels and easy math, we can compute how much electrical power will be generated, and most significantly, at exactly what cost, for a minimum of the next 20 years (fixed energy expenses).
What are the various payment options?
We have many flexible purchasing agreements for customers who would like to install a new home solar system. There are three different payment options, making them a viable choice for customers of all budgets. The payment options include Lease, PPA, and Purchase.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is There A Way To Charge Solar Panels Without Sunlight - I Know This Is A Strange Question But Please Humor Me?
I'M Talking About Very Small Solar Panels On A Couple Of Lighthouses Intended For The Garden, But I'M Keeping Them Inside. They Need To &Quot;Charge&Quot; So The Light Will Spin At Night. I Keep Them By The Window, But They'Re Still Not Getting Enough Sunlight. Keeping Them Outside Is Not An Option.
well you could set up a UV lamp or something.. but why not hook up a battery to keep it powered at night?
Trying To Charge A 12V Battery With A Solar Panel?
Im Trying To Charge A 12V Battery With A Solar Panel But I Only Have A 2 Inch By 2 Inch Space To Place A Solar Panel. Does Anyone Have Any Ideas
I don't think you can build or find a solar panel that would fit in such a small space, even if you were dealing with very low current. The only workaround I can think of would be to build a foldable solar panel that would deliver enough current to charge the battery. And attach one end of it to the box lid. But you'd have to be careful to make sure that folding and unfolding won't break the cells. Or the weight of it folded up won't break it.
FYI, I have a very small and compact 6V solar panel that delivers 340ma. And it takes up more than 2x2 inches.
Backup Batteries And Solar Power?
Hello All, Thanks For Stopping By,
I Have Some Questions Regarding A Backup Battery, Specifically The Duracell Dpp-600Hd Powerpack 600 Jump Starter & Emergency Power Source With Radio:
I Was Thinking About Buying This, As Well As A Portable Solar Panel. Now For The Questions;
Has Anyone Used This Battery, And If So What Are Your Results?
Can Anyone Suggest A Good Quality Solar Panel To Use With This Battery?
How Difficult Is Setting Up Other Power Sources To Use With These Types Of Battery? Specifically, If I Have A Dc Motor That I Have Rigged Up With A Bicycle As A Generator, Could This Store The Energy I Produce?
Feel Free To Answer, Or Ask Questions About My Question If You Feel I Have Not Been Clear In My Inquiry.
Thank You All!
Just get one of those 10 or 15 watt panels you should be able to get where you buy that pack.
It should charge it in around four good solar days.
So long as you can regualte the voltage to around 14V, and use a blocking diode to keep battery back feeding into the charger, you should be fine.
I don't have one of those packs, instead I have a straight 35Ah AGM cell with a 15 watt PV panel, charge controller, and 400W inverter. The system so far has mostly kept up with my nighly use (1/2 hr/night, around 100W CF lighting).
Why Are You Against Green Or Environmentalist Thinking?
I Am Just Trying To Understand Why Some People Are So Vehemently Opposed To Doing And Using &Quot;Green&Quot; Things That Help The Environment.
I Just Don'T Understand Why... It Saves Money, It Saves The Environment And It Helps To Reduce Pollution. Regardless Of Weather Or Not You &Quot;Believe&Quot; In Global Warming (As If It Is A Religion) Do People Still Not See All Of The Positive Benefits Of Using Green Products And Building Green Leed Certified Homes And Buildings?
I'M Really Confused And Would Like Real Answers From Real People Who Are Against Environmentalism.
It's not that I'm against the concept of being more 'green', it's just that I evaluate what is being proposed and make up my own mind.
For example, do you know that:
1. It takes almost as much energy to run a large scale ethanol plant as it produces?
2. There is going to be a huge shortage of corn and other grains because of the demand for ethanol?
3. "Mr. Green", Algore, claims to be carbon neutral, but has many homes that need to be lit, heated and cooled; drives around in gas guzzlers, flies in private air planes?
Solar Panel/Light For 10X10 Shed?
I'M Looking For A Led Light With A Solar Panel For My Shed So I Can See. Anyone Know Of One Or How To Make One?
might i make a suggestion?
how 'bout a skylight.
works better (no components to break).
works for more of the day.
in fact, i have a 10" one that's bright enough that i often look for the light switch to turn it off.
Edit: If you get a light tunnel, get one with straight sides, not one that bends. You get more light through with fewer reflections. The "bendy" ones tend to reflect light back up, rather than down. The straight ones are just brighter.
