What Our Customers are Saying

"We found all of the employees with whom we in contact from the sales representative to the installers to be knowledgeable and professional. All our questions were answered satisfactorily which is why we decided panels installed. We were also impressed with the company’s A+ rating by the Better Business Bureau.” – Pat S. – Boston

"Our first two bills were approximately $300.00 less than before and our third bill, just received was down about $250.00 from what we were paying! We think it is fantastic!" - William R. - Waltham MA

"They did a wonderful job on my system and I would recommend them to my family and friends!" - Georg S. - Chicopee MA

I cannot express my gratitude for going forward with solar panels. From the initial meeting to discuss the possibility to the techs who eventually installed them. But most of all, it is the savings we have experienced. That first month was unbelievable. Solar plus our other electric source combined was less than our usual monthly expense. During the summer when our electric usage is higher because of the air conditioning, our monthly expense was still less than what we have paid with past summer usage. And if that’s not enough…our present electricity is primarily supplied by the solar panels. We have been building up a reserve with our other electricity source and will be able to draw from that all winter when our panels wont’t generate as much electricity. It’s a win-win situation that we’re just thrilled over. Having a fixed rate locked in is another great feature for savings.” – Virgil T. – Westport MA

About Solar Energy

Solar power is energy from the sun that is transformed into thermal or electrical energy.

Solar energy is the cleanest and most abundant renewable resource source available, and the United States has some of the richest solar resources worldwide. Modern innovation can harness this energy for a variety of usages, consisting of producing electricity, supplying light or a comfortable interior environment, and heating water for domestic, commercial, or industrial usage.

Solar Benefits

Solar power makes it possible for resident to utilize the sun to power everyday life: running your air conditioning unit, cleaning clothing, seeing TELEVISION, cooking dinner. All while lowering your carbon footprint, and without burning nonrenewable fuel sources or putting a stress on the electrical grid. And while the environmental benefits of solar power are considerable, lots of property owners discover that the convenience, special features, and cost savings of owning a solar power system are much more enticing.

Leading Benefits of Solar Energy

#1 Considerably minimize or perhaps eliminate your electric expenses

Whether you're a homeowner, company, or nonprofit, electricity expenses can make up a big portion of your regular monthly expenses. With a photovoltaic panel system, you'll create complimentary power for your system's entire 25+ year lifecycle. Even if you don't produce 100 percent of the energy you take in, solar will reduce your energy bills and you'll still save a great deal of loan.

#2 Make an excellent return on your investment

Solar panels aren't a cost-- they're one of the very best ways to invest, with returns measuring up to those of more conventional investments like stocks and bonds. Thanks to considerable electrical energy costs savings, the typical American homeowner pays off their solar panel system in 7 to eight years and sees an ROI of 20 percent or more.

#3 Secure versus rising energy expenses

One of the most clear cut advantages of photovoltaic panels is the capability to hedge energy rates. In the previous ten years, domestic electricity rates have actually increased by approximately three percent yearly. By purchasing a solar energy system now, you can repair your electricity rate and secure against unpredictable boosts in electricity costs. If you're a service or homeowner with rising and falling money flow, going solar also assists you much better projection and manage your costs.

#4 Increase your home or business worth

Numerous studies have found that houses equipped with solar energy systems have greater home values and offer more rapidly than non-solar houses. Appraisers are significantly taking solar installations into consideration as they value houses at the time of a sale, and as property buyers become more educated about solar, demand for residential or commercial properties equipped with solar panel systems will continue to grow.

#5 Increase U.S. energy self-reliance

The sun is a near-infinite source of energy and a key element of accomplishing energy independence in the United States. By increasing our capability to produce electricity from the sun, we can also insulate our nation from cost fluctuations in worldwide energy markets.

#6 Create jobs and help your local economy

According to The Solar Structure, the solar market added tasks at a rate nearly 12 times faster than the general U.S. economy in 2015, representing 1.2 percent of all tasks in the country. This development is expected to continue. Because solar-related tasks have the tendency to be higher paying and can not be outsourced, they are a substantial factor to the United States economy.

#7 Safeguard the environment

Solar is a terrific way to lower your carbon footprint. Buildings are accountable for 38 percent of all carbon emissions in the U.S., and going solar can substantially reduce that number. A common residential photovoltaic panel system will eliminate 3 to 4 lots of carbon emissions each year-- the equivalent of planting over 100 trees annually.

#8 Show your dedication to sustainability

Sustainability and corporate social duty are necessary parts of a company's culture and worths. They also produce bottom line results. Progressively, customers and communities are recognizing and rewarding services that opt to run responsibly. Organisations are discovering that "green" qualifications are an effective chauffeur of customer getting decisions, creating goodwill and enhancing business outcomes.

#9 Start Saving from Day 1

Solar purchase power agreements (PPAs) and solar leasing has actually made it possible for house owners to go solar for little or no loan down.

Lots of homeowners opt to finance their solar panels with one of the "pay-as-you-go" financing options. This means that a third-party business-- the solar company-- owns the solar system and looks after setup, maintenance, monitoring and repairs. You just pay the solar service provider for electricity-- less than you would've paid the utility business.

As of June 2013, 75% of all American homes have access to pay-as-you-go solar.

#10. Solar is a Secure Financial investment

The energy business are notorious for their varying and unreliable electrical energy costs. There is clearly an upward trend.

With solar panels and basic math, we can compute what does it cost? electrical power will be created, and most notably, at what rate, for a minimum of the next 20 years (repaired energy expenses).

Frequently Asked Questions

Where Could You Buy Cheap Solar Panels (1 Watt Under $1) Online, Or Cheap Broken Ones?
Not Ebay, Just To Be Clear. Also, Electronics Goldmine And Silicon Solar Aren'T Exactly Cheapo. Ebay Bids Just Get Super Pricey Really Fast. Also, Any Links To Places Where They Sell Solar Diy Materials For Reasonable Prices Also Welcome (Eg. Solder, Bus Wire, Flux Pen, Transparent Cover Material, Tabbing,Etc) If Any Of You Have Sites To Wiring Plans, That'D Be Appreciated. Best Answer To The One Who Actually Gives A Site With A Good Price

Look at sunelec.com , occasionally they have solar laminate on sale for about that price. It sells out quickly when they get it.

Keep in mind that home-built panels don't save money because they don't last, and are illegal to tie to the grid. Commercially-built panels are actually cheaper when you consider how long they last. There are some scam sites that make wild claims of savings for home-built panels. Consider, if that were true, you'd see at least a few people in your neighborhood doing it. If you're just doing it for the fun of it, then go for it, it can be a rewarding project.

What Are Some New Technologies In The World?
Please I Am Researching New Technology For My Project. Can You Please Give Me Ideas Of New Technologies Excluding Cell Phones, Music, Guns, Or Music Instruments. But, Something With School, House, Or Hospital.

Nanotechnology has entered our world and is used to manufacture many items in use today. Some examples include clothes that don't stain, potential cures for cancer, solar panels as thick as a sheet of paper, Fungus killing socks, deodorizing washing machines, stain proof clothing, completely waterproof clothing (you can soak the clothes in water for a couple of months and they still stay dry!), razor blades that last for months, liquid armor, materials that can smell gasses and poisions, an endoscope camera in a pill to look at the inside of the intestines and almost anything you want them to smell and many, many other things. Go here for a video that introduces nanotechnology http://www.kqed.org/quest/television/vie... The video is slightly technical, but you may still find it interesting, expecially the first half.

Nanotechnology involves making and controlling things that are so small that, if you lined up 80,000 to 100,000 of them, they would only be a long as the width of a human hair.

http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn16... and http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn16... describe liquid proof cloth.

The endoscope camera in a pill is extremely interesting as it allows doctors to examine the portions of a person's intestines that have not been possible to see before. Look at the websites at
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3606947/ and at http://www.popsci.com/how-it-works/article/2008-03/how-it-works-endoscope-camera-pill. This last website has a video showing how it works.

I hope this is a help to you. Good luck!

Questions About Solar Panels And Battery Back Ups.?
I Know The Basics Of Watt Use And How To Calculate Watts( Ahx Volts= Watts And Watts X Time= Amount Required. I Am Thinking Of A Solar Panel System That Is 1500 W With A 55Ah Battery. This System Is A Decent Price But Heavy( Again Why Its Affordable) My Question Is : Can I Use A 125Ah 12V Dc Battery Bank (4 Batteries) And Hook It Up To My 1500 W Solar Panel To Charge The Batteries? And If There Is Enough Sun How Long Would It Take? Would I Have To Charge Each Battery Individually Or Can I Charge The Whole Bank With Just That 1500 W Solar Panel? Im Trying To Find The Best System With A Decent Price And Less Building Needed. Of Course There Will Be Comprimises. For Example: The Sola System I Saw Was The Wagan( Cube Type) Panel From Home Depot For Under $1200, And 125 Ah 12 V Dc Battery 4 Pack For $1100 On Amazon. Just Wondering If 1500 W Would Be Enough For This Endeavor Considering That This Type Of Battery Is 1500 Watts Per Battery And The System Is 1500 Watts ( Which Can Be Hooked Up To More Panels)

Robert, it's pretty easy to misunderstand the specs here. The cube has a 1500 watt inverter, which means it can temporarily run an AC appliance up to 1500 watts, like a large refrigerator for example, and the 55 AH battery (amphour) might do it for an hour or two, that's it. There is not a 1500 watt solar panel, or panels here, the 5 panels are 16 watts each, for a total of 80 watts. This amount of solar is a mere pittance if you are trying to just survive the night with AC power. If you drain that battery, those miniscule panels will take weeks to replace the power. An 80 watt solar array wired for 12 volts will have a maximum amperage of about 4 amps. With 5 hours or so of direct sun a day you'll spend a long time catching up.

I understand your confusion, the people that sell these things are relying on it to sell these products. We have a portable system here I built myself with a 120 watt panel, 150% of the power output of the cube, and 4 golf cart batteries. The panel sells for around $120 on ebay, the batteries are $95 each, and my 750 watt inverter, which I rarely use, cost $69.95 at the auto parts store. Yet my system runs all the LED strip lights in our home, charges our phones and ipads/ipods, runs my MP3 speakers and the portable DVD player. That combined with a wood stove rounds out a pretty comfortable power outage. If you want to run AC appliances, just get the portable generator and a can of gas.

I like doing things green too, that's why our entire cottage runs on solar and wind. We have a 1400 watt solar array, it takes up a fair amount of roof space, it won't fit on a cooler lid. Our inverter is a 4000 watt synchronous sine wave model that can run the entire home, fridge, chest freezer, kitchen appliances and lights, no problem. The cost is probably just under $10,000 for the parts alone. These portable units, like the cube, always have a large inverter to sell themselves on a large output spec, but 80 watts of panel is like trying to heat your bedroom with a handful of candles. If you plug anything of significance into that cube, the battery will run for an hour or two, and then you need lots and lots of sun to recharge.

If you really want to go green, or want green backup power like we have, you have to learn more than you can get from an open forum like this. I'll list some sources below. In a nutshell, if you want to make your own, start with 2 golf cart batteries wired in series, this will give you a 12 volt 220 AH battery pack, then shop for a panel no larger than 80 watts. This will allow you to directly charge the battery without a charge controller, less money, complication and parts to break down. Now you have 4 times the storage of the cube, the same solar capability, and spend way less money. If you want to hook an inverter to it, just shop for one at Harbor Freight, a truck stop or auto parts store. If it were me, I'd stick to DC and use the power for LED lights and electronics charging. Take care Robert, Rudyoo

When I Get My Own House, I'M Planning To Get My Walls And Roof Covered With Solar Panels. Is This A Good Idea?
How Long Do You Think Will It Last? I Am In A Subtropical Country

In the subtropics you will get good sun but the sun may not shine on all parts of your roof.
The roof angles that are away from the equator may be shaded by the building. Also there may be things such as trees or neighboring buildings that may block the sunlight from sections of your roof.
Do a site survey before putting them up.

The walls, at best will be shaded most of the day and/or most of the year.
You would want the walls to be shaded to help keep the house cool in the subtropical sun.

Be sure to leave room for other solar technologies to go with the photovoltaic..
Sun Tubes and skylights will reduce lighting needs and can lower your operating cost.
Solar Thermal, can supply your hot water needs as well as radiant heating. This can give you the quickest return on your investment.

Do Solar Panels Save You Money And If They Do How Much Off Your Monthly Electric Bill?

You can buy a solar system as big or as small as you need.

The problem (in the US anyway) is that photovoltaic systems are so expensive that they take many years to pay for themselves.

In the US, there are many rebates and tax incentives that you can take advantage of that will lower your cost of installing this kind of system, but they often still have a very long payback.

For information on rebates that are available, check out the first website below. It lists incentives for each US state.

I would call a solar installer near you and ask them for prices and paybacks. I've listed two good resources for finding solar installers. One is a certifying organization that certifies installers to show that they actually know what they are doing. The other is a referral service that lists feedback from other purchasers to let you know what they thought of the installer.

Great question.
