About Solar Energy
Solar power is energy from the sun that is transformed into thermal or electrical energy.
Solar energy is the cleanest and most abundant renewable resource source available, and the United States has some of the richest solar resources worldwide. Modern innovation can harness this energy for a variety of usages, consisting of producing electricity, supplying light or a comfortable interior environment, and heating water for domestic, commercial, or industrial usage.
Solar power makes it possible for property owner to use the sun to power daily life: running your air conditioning system, cleaning clothing, enjoying TV, cooking supper. All while minimizing your carbon footprint, and without burning fossil fuels or putting a pressure on the electrical grid. And while the ecological benefits of solar power are considerable, lots of property owners discover that the benefit, special functions, and cost savings of owning a solar power system are much more alluring.
Top 10 Benefits of Solar Energy
#1 Drastically minimize and even eliminate your electric costs
Whether you're a house owner, company, or nonprofit, electricity expenses can comprise a big portion of your regular monthly costs. With a solar panel system, you'll create free power for your system's entire 25+ year lifecycle. Even if you do not produce One Hundred Percent of the energy you consume, solar will decrease your utility expenses and you'll still conserve a lot of money.
#2 Earn a terrific return on your financial investment
Photovoltaic panels aren't a cost-- they're one of the finest methods to invest, with returns equaling those of more conventional financial investments like stocks and bonds. Thanks to substantial electrical energy expense cost savings, the average American property owner settles their photovoltaic panel system in 7 to 8 years and sees an ROI of 20 percent or more.
#3 Protect against rising energy expenses
Among the most clear cut benefits of photovoltaic panels is the ability to hedge energy rates. In the past ten years, domestic electrical energy rates have actually gone up by an average of 3 percent annually. By investing in a solar energy system now, you can fix your electricity rate and secure against unpredictable increases in electrical power costs. If you're a business or homeowner with fluctuating money flow, going solar likewise helps you much better projection and handle your expenditures.
#4 Boost your home value
Numerous research studies have found that houses equipped with solar energy systems have higher residential or commercial property worths and offer quicker than non-solar houses. Appraisers are increasingly taking solar setups into factor to consider as they value homes at the time of a sale, and as homebuyers become more informed about solar, need for homes equipped with photovoltaic panel systems will continue to grow.
#5 Increase U.S. energy self-reliance
The sun is a near-infinite source of energy and a key component of attaining energy independence in the United States. By increasing our capacity to produce electrical power from the sun, we can also insulate our nation from rate changes in international energy markets.
#6 Create jobs and help your regional economy
According to The Solar Structure, the solar market included jobs at a rate almost 12 times faster than the general U.S. economy in 2015, representing 1.2 percent of all tasks in the country. This growth is expected to continue. Because solar-related tasks have the tendency to be higher paying and can not be contracted out, they are a substantial contributor to the United States economy.
#7 Protect the environment
Solar is a terrific method to minimize your carbon footprint. Buildings are responsible for 38 percent of all carbon emissions in the United States, and going solar can substantially decrease that number. A typical residential solar panel system will eliminate three to four lots of carbon emissions each year-- the equivalent of planting over 100 trees every year.
#8 Demonstrate your commitment to sustainability
Sustainability and business social duty are essential components of an organization's culture and worths. They likewise produce bottom line results. Increasingly, consumers and communities are acknowledging and rewarding companies that pick to run properly. Services are finding that "green" qualifications are an effective chauffeur of customer purchasing decisions, producing goodwill and improving service results.
#9 Start Saving from Day 1
Solar purchase power contracts (PPAs) and solar leasing has actually made it possible for homeowners to go solar for little or no loan down.
Many property owners decide to fund their photovoltaic panels with among the "pay-as-you-go" financing choices. This means that a third-party company-- the solar company-- owns the planetary system and takes care of installation, maintenance, tracking and repairs. You just pay the solar supplier for electrical energy-- less than you would've paid the utility company.
As of June 2013, 75% of all American homes have access to pay-as-you-go solar.
#10. Solar is a Secure Investment
The utility business are well-known for their fluctuating and unreliable electricity costs. There is clearly an upward trend.
With photovoltaic panels and easy mathematics, we can calculate how much electrical power will be produced, and most importantly, at exactly what rate, for at least the next 20 years (fixed energy expenses).
What are the various payment options?
We have many flexible purchasing agreements for customers who would like to install a new home solar system. There are three different payment options, making them a viable choice for customers of all budgets. The payment options include Lease, PPA, and Purchase.
- Low, fixed payments each month
- System insurance for 20 years, including maintenance
- Flexible end-of-term options, including system upgrade, lease extension, and free panel removal
Power Purchase Agreement (PPA)
- We own the solar panel system
- $0 down for installation
- Customers only pay for the solar energy that they use
- Customer pays for the system upfront and owns the system
- System monitoring and maintenance for 20 years
- Receive 30% federal tax credit
- See a return on investment within 7-10 years
What happens when the contract for my lease is finished?
We provide our customers with a few different options for when their lease contract is up. Customers can upgrade their equipment to the newest solar technology available, extend the agreement, or have the panels removed at no cost.
What is the warranty?
The Lease and PPA include a 20-year warranty during the lifetime of the system. This warranty exceeds that of most other solar installers’ warranties.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why Don'T Scientists Use The Design Of A Tree For Solar Panels?
Since Plants Have Been Populating This Earth For The Past 475 Million Years I Think They Have Evolved To Gain The Most Sun With Their Greenery. If Scientists Used Heat Sensors To Find The Hot Spots Of Trees And Trim All Of The Leaves That Don'T &Quot;Provide&Quot; For The Plant, Then Maybe That Trimmed Tree Could Be Used To Become A Solar &Quot;Panel&Quot;. I Believe That Each Individual Leaf Could Be Replaced By A Small Solar Panel And The Wood Of The Tree Would Be Wiring That Would Root All Of The Solar Panels To A Generator.
solar panels do not use generators, but i like your idea, very creative.though i don't see the practicality of this being used commercially, i think it would make a great solar promotional piece though!
off-subject, it is time we stop looking at the upfront costs of things and start looking at what the long term costs are. most green-technology, although expensive at first, end up saving tons of resources and actually increase profits of businesses! studies show that people who work in a green building tend to be happier which benefits health, more excited to go to work due to the business's environmental ethics, are more productive because of natural lighting, and are more efficient because more work is getting done. green buildings can actually boost the efficiency of a business! thus saving tons of money and reducing tons of waste. Doesn't this just make sense to you?
Who Knows About Sollar Rolls?
They Are Solar Panels
Helianthos is the name of the development of flexible solar cell modules which can be manufactured via roll-to-roll processes on long foil substrates. The development is carried out by an industrial core group which is supported by universities, know how institutes and other partners.
The key to the development is the use of a temporary substrate on which flexible thin film solar cells are deposited. The use of the temporary substrate allows to use relatively high processing temperatures while using (semi-)continuous roll-to-roll (or reel-to-reel) production processes and cost efficient abundantly available materials.
The active layers of such solar cells comprise a transparent conductive oxide layer (TCO) and active absorber layer (e.g. thin film silicon) and a back contact layer (e.g. a reflective metal layer).
Solarrollers : Driven mode of locomotion by a single motor; Solar-powered BEAMbots that attempt to complete a fairly short, straight and level course in the shortest amount of time. They are driven by a 'solar engine' circuit; the circuit is designed so that it charges up energy gained from the solar panels and then releases it in one continuous burst. The two main types of solar engines are the FLED engine, which uses a flashing LED to regulate the power, and a 1381 engine, which uses a 1381 voltage regulator to decide when to release the energy.
How Much Solar Energy Is Found In Chicago Or Illinois Or The Midwest?
Looks to me about 4 hours of peak sun.

How Is Solar Energy Obtained?
Where And How Could Solar Energy Be Used
Through the heat of the sun as it excites molecules in a solar device. It;s very slow and produces very low amounts of energy.
Do Solar Panels Go Bad If Not Used?
If U Buy Solar Panels And Never Take Em Out Of The Box For Like Thirty Years Will They Still Work Good Thirty Years After You Bought Them
I'm answering for conventional silicon solar panels, the only kind I really know. The panels are basically semiconductor, wire, glass, and aluminum housing. The last three, everyone knows have long lifetimes if not exposed to the elements. As for the semiconductor part, the degradation is generally due to exposure to the sun. And even so, some solar panels from the 70's are still working today. Usually, what does them in is failure of a connection due to vibration, degradation of the plastic due to heat, sun, or water exposure, or accidents.
The question of how useful the panels would be after 30 years is different, though. I have Germanium transistors from 50 years ago - they're still good, but their specs are really lame by modern standards. And suppose you had a PC from 25 years ago. Original cost, $4000, no hard disk, only runs DOS off a 5 1/4 floppy disk. It works great, but except as a curiosity, is it useful?
The batteries that most people use to store solar energy are lead-acid. The technology has not changed much in 30 years. If you had such batteries in storage, that had *never* been activated (that it, they were dry, no acid had been added yet), I would not be surprised if they would be fine after that period of time. If the batteries were activated, no, they would not keep. But maybe battery breakthroughs are coming with other chemistries, so those batteries would seem clunky and useless 30 years from now.
