About Solar Energy
Solar power is energy from the sun that is transformed into thermal or electrical energy.
Solar energy is the cleanest and most abundant renewable resource source available, and the United States has some of the richest solar resources worldwide. Modern innovation can harness this energy for a variety of usages, consisting of producing electricity, supplying light or a comfortable interior environment, and heating water for domestic, commercial, or industrial usage.
Solar power makes it possible for house owners to utilize the sun to power daily life: running your a/c, washing clothes, viewing TELEVISION, cooking supper. All while minimizing your carbon footprint, and without burning fossil fuels or putting a pressure on the electrical grid. And while the ecological benefits of solar power are significant, lots of homeowners find that the benefit, special functions, and expense savings of owning a solar power system are even more alluring.
Top 10 Advantages of Solar Energy
#1 Significantly decrease or perhaps eliminate your electric bills
Whether you're a homeowner, business, or nonprofit, electrical power costs can make up a large portion of your regular monthly expenses. With a photovoltaic panel system, you'll generate free power for your system's entire 25+ year lifecycle. Even if you do not produce One Hundred Percent of the energy you consume, solar will decrease your energy costs and you'll still conserve a great deal of loan.
#2 Earn an excellent return on your financial investment
Photovoltaic panels aren't an expenditure-- they are among the very best ways to invest, with returns matching those of more standard financial investments like stocks and bonds. Thanks to substantial electricity bill savings, the typical American property owner settles their solar panel system in seven to 8 years and sees an ROI of 20 percent or more.
#3 Secure against rising energy expenses
One of the most clear cut benefits of solar panels is the capability to hedge energy prices. In the past 10 years, domestic electricity costs have gone up by approximately 3 percent yearly. By investing in a solar energy system now, you can fix your electrical energy rate and secure versus unpredictable boosts in electricity expenses. If you're a business or house owner with fluctuating cash flow, going solar also assists you much better projection and manage your expenses.
#4 Increase your home or business value
Multiple research studies have found that homes equipped with solar energy systems have greater residential or commercial property values and sell faster than non-solar houses. Appraisers are progressively taking solar installations into factor to consider as they value homes at the time of a sale, and as property buyers become more educated about solar, need for homes equipped with photovoltaic panel systems will continue to grow.
#5 Increase U.S. energy independence
The sun is a near-infinite source of energy and an essential element of accomplishing energy self-reliance in the United States. By increasing our capacity to produce electricity from the sun, we can likewise insulate our nation from rate variations in worldwide energy markets.
#6 Create jobs and assist your local economy
According to The Solar Foundation, the solar industry included jobs at a rate nearly 12 times faster than the general U.S. economy in 2015, representing 1.2 percent of all jobs in the nation. This growth is anticipated to continue. Because solar-related jobs tend to be higher paying and can not be contracted out, they are a considerable contributor to the United States economy.
#7 Secure the environment
Solar is a terrific way to reduce your carbon footprint. Structures are accountable for 38 percent of all carbon emissions in the United States, and going solar can substantially reduce that number. A typical domestic photovoltaic panel system will remove three to 4 lots of carbon emissions each year-- the equivalent of planting over 100 trees annually.
#8 Demonstrate your commitment to sustainability
Sustainability and corporate social duty are necessary components of a company's culture and worths. They also produce bottom line results. Increasingly, customers and communities are recognizing and rewarding organisations that select to run responsibly. Organisations are finding that "green" qualifications are an effective driver of customer getting decisions, producing goodwill and improving service results.
#9 Start Saving from Day 1
Solar purchase power contracts (PPAs) and solar leasing has actually made it possible for property owners to go solar for little or no loan down.
Lots of homeowners pick to finance their solar panels with among the "pay-as-you-go" financing choices. This implies that a third-party company-- the solar provider-- owns the solar system and takes care of setup, maintenance, monitoring and repair works. You simply pay the solar provider for electricity-- less than you would've paid the energy company.
Since June 2013, 75% of all American houses have access to pay-as-you-go solar.
#10. Solar is a Secure Financial investment
The utility business are infamous for their varying and undependable electrical energy prices. There is plainly an upward pattern.
With photovoltaic panels and simple math, we can determine how much electricity will be produced, and most significantly, at what rate, for a minimum of the next 20 years (repaired energy costs).
What are the various payment options?
We have many flexible purchasing agreements for customers who would like to install a new home solar system. There are three different payment options, making them a viable choice for customers of all budgets. The payment options include Lease, PPA, and Purchase.
- Low, fixed payments each month
- System insurance for 20 years, including maintenance
- Flexible end-of-term options, including system upgrade, lease extension, and free panel removal
Power Purchase Agreement (PPA)
- We own the solar panel system
- $0 down for installation
- Customers only pay for the solar energy that they use
- Customer pays for the system upfront and owns the system
- System monitoring and maintenance for 20 years
- Receive 30% federal tax credit
- See a return on investment within 7-10 years
What happens when the contract for my lease is finished?
We provide our customers with a few different options for when their lease contract is up. Customers can upgrade their equipment to the newest solar technology available, extend the agreement, or have the panels removed at no cost.
What is the warranty?
The Lease and PPA include a 20-year warranty during the lifetime of the system. This warranty exceeds that of most other solar installers’ warranties.
Frequently Asked Questions
How Hard Is It To Add Solar Panels To A House?
We Live In A Very High Sun Area, And I'M Thinking Solar Panels Could Do Nothing But Good. How Hard Is It To Implement This, And Does Anyone Have Any Links To Good Info?
I work on a lot homes and I've never seen one that worked more than 2 or 3 years. most of them were disconnected. maybe the future will give us better technology
How Do Solar Powered Cars Work?
How Do Solar Pwered Cars Work? The Process.
Solar panels would charge a battery pack. These batteries would power electric motors at the wheels and propel the vehicle
I don't see these as a practical means of transportation any time soon for the following reasons:
Less sunlight in the winter months would limit range even more
Accessories such as lighting, ventilation, heating, etc. would reduce range, capacity, or speed.
Could leave you stranded on a cloudy or rainy day
Could not be driven far at night
See the link below for more information on solar powered cars.
Would You Pay More For Wind Power?
I'M Doing My Isu And I Have A Simple Question:
Would You Pay More Money On Your Electricity Bill For Wind Power? What About Other Clean Renewable Energy?
I wouldn't pay any more for wind power, or any other kind of green power. The only long-term, sustainable way for green power to work is for it to be more cost effective than other forms of energy. This will happen one of two ways:
1) The government puts so many taxes and restrictions on non-green power (or gives leniency and tax breaks to green power) that it becomes more profitable to utility companies to use green power.
2) The cost of digging for more oil, and supplying other non-green energy forms becomes so expensive due to diminishing raw forms of it that it is more profitable for companies to use green energy.
This is really an economics problem. All businesses will make decisions to make as much profit as possible, even utilities. When green-power fits into this catagory it will be used.
For me wind power takes up too much land for the amount of energy you get in return. I prefer nuclear and clean burning waste to energy incinerators (which would also help to take care of our garbage problem). From the studies I've seen, green energy just isn't efficient enough to power the whole planet. The only option that might be viable is in the area of solar power. If engineers can design a more advanced way to capture the sun's power it's possible that it could power the planet, but it would need to be a lot more efficient than what we have today.
One out of the box idea I like is requiring all buildings to have a power generating wind mill and/or solar panels. This would greatly reduce the need for power from power plants, regardless of their energy source.
What Is The Efficiency Of Solar Panels And How Dependable Are Solar Panels, Why Is This?
There is not room enough here to write everything about the research being done on solar cell efficiency. There are reports of cells that use 40 - 41 per cent of energy from the sun. Boeing and Honda are but a few. Different methods and technologies that are used have brought the % rate over the 40% barrier and more to come. By increasing the total concentration of sunlight on the solar cell it mutiplies the cell area for greater effeciency. Sorry can't go on, but try CNET news.
Can Someone Help Me With Solar Energy?
How Does Solar Energy Reduce The Greenhouse Gas, Global Warming, And Dangers To The Environment?
(fossil fuel is actually stored solar energy, but let's sidestep that)
If you mean "collecting realtime solar energy", as in using solar powered hot water systems, solar panels etc., then compared to burning fossil fuel such as oil or coal, solar energy produces no carbon dioxide (which is a greenhouse gas). The buildup of carbon dioxide beyond naturally-occuring levels is generally held to be causing global warming, whose effects can be seen in the melting of arctic sea ice etc.
The collection of solar energy does not, in general, release pollutants into the environment such as sulphur dioxide or nitrous oxides which are released by burning high-sulphur coal or gasoline.
