What Our Customers are Saying

"We found all of the employees with whom we in contact from the sales representative to the installers to be knowledgeable and professional. All our questions were answered satisfactorily which is why we decided panels installed. We were also impressed with the company’s A+ rating by the Better Business Bureau.” – Pat S. – Boston

"Our first two bills were approximately $300.00 less than before and our third bill, just received was down about $250.00 from what we were paying! We think it is fantastic!" - William R. - Waltham MA

"They did a wonderful job on my system and I would recommend them to my family and friends!" - Georg S. - Chicopee MA

I cannot express my gratitude for going forward with solar panels. From the initial meeting to discuss the possibility to the techs who eventually installed them. But most of all, it is the savings we have experienced. That first month was unbelievable. Solar plus our other electric source combined was less than our usual monthly expense. During the summer when our electric usage is higher because of the air conditioning, our monthly expense was still less than what we have paid with past summer usage. And if that’s not enough…our present electricity is primarily supplied by the solar panels. We have been building up a reserve with our other electricity source and will be able to draw from that all winter when our panels wont’t generate as much electricity. It’s a win-win situation that we’re just thrilled over. Having a fixed rate locked in is another great feature for savings.” – Virgil T. – Westport MA

About Solar Energy

Solar power is energy from the sun that is transformed into thermal or electrical energy.

Solar energy is the cleanest and most abundant renewable resource source available, and the United States has some of the richest solar resources worldwide. Modern innovation can harness this energy for a variety of usages, consisting of producing electricity, supplying light or a comfortable interior environment, and heating water for domestic, commercial, or industrial usage.

Solar Benefits

Solar power makes it possible for homeowner to use the sun to power daily life: running your ac system, washing clothes, enjoying TV, cooking dinner. All while minimizing your carbon footprint, and without burning nonrenewable fuel sources or putting a strain on the electrical grid. And while the ecological benefits of solar power are considerable, many home owners discover that the benefit, special features, and expense savings of owning a solar power system are much more attractive.

Top 10 Advantages of Solar Energy

#1 Dramatically reduce or perhaps eliminate your electric costs

Whether you're a homeowner, organization, or nonprofit, electrical energy expenses can make up a large portion of your regular monthly expenditures. With a photovoltaic panel system, you'll produce complimentary power for your system's entire 25+ year lifecycle. Even if you do not produce One Hundred Percent of the energy you take in, solar will reduce your energy expenses and you'll still conserve a lot of cash.

#2 Make an excellent return on your investment

Photovoltaic panels aren't an expenditure-- they are among the very best methods to invest, with returns matching those of more conventional financial investments like stocks and bonds. Thanks to substantial electricity expense cost savings, the average American house owner pays off their solar panel system in seven to 8 years and sees an ROI of 20 percent or more.

#3 Safeguard versus increasing energy expenses

One of the most clear cut advantages of solar panels is the ability to hedge energy costs. In the past 10 years, domestic electrical power rates have actually gone up by approximately 3 percent every year. By investing in a solar energy system now, you can repair your electrical power rate and safeguard versus unforeseeable boosts in electricity costs. If you're a company or property owner with fluctuating money circulation, going solar also assists you much better forecast and manage your expenditures.

#4 Increase your home worth

Numerous studies have discovered that houses equipped with solar energy systems have greater property values and sell more quickly than non-solar houses. Appraisers are significantly taking solar setups into consideration as they value homes at the time of a sale, and as property buyers become more informed about solar, demand for homes equipped with solar panel systems will continue to grow.

#5 Increase U.S. energy self-reliance

The sun is a near-infinite source of energy and a crucial component of achieving energy independence in the United States. By increasing our capability to produce electrical power from the sun, we can likewise insulate our nation from cost variations in global energy markets.

#6 Develop jobs and help your local economy

According to The Solar Foundation, the solar industry included jobs at a rate nearly 12 times faster than the general U.S. economy in 2015, representing 1.2 percent of all tasks in the nation. This growth is expected to continue. Due to the fact that solar-related jobs tend to be higher paying and can not be outsourced, they are a significant factor to the United States economy.

#7 Protect the environment

Solar is a great way to decrease your carbon footprint. Structures are responsible for 38 percent of all carbon emissions in the U.S., and going solar can significantly decrease that number. A common residential solar panel system will remove 3 to 4 loads of carbon emissions each year-- the equivalent of planting over 100 trees annually.

#8 Show your commitment to sustainability

Sustainability and corporate social duty are essential components of a company's culture and values. They likewise produce bottom line results. Significantly, customers and communities are acknowledging and rewarding businesses that decide to run responsibly. Businesses are finding that "green" qualifications are a powerful driver of customer purchasing choices, producing goodwill and enhancing company outcomes.

#9 Start Saving from Day 1

Solar purchase power arrangements (PPAs) and solar leasing has made it possible for property owners to go solar for little or no cash down.

Lots of property owners decide to fund their photovoltaic panels with among the "pay-as-you-go" financing choices. This indicates that a third-party business-- the solar service provider-- owns the planetary system and takes care of setup, upkeep, tracking and repairs. You just pay the solar service provider for electrical power-- less than you would've paid the energy business.

As of June 2013, 75% of all American houses have access to pay-as-you-go solar.

#10. Solar is a Secure Financial investment

The utility companies are well-known for their fluctuating and unreliable electrical power rates. There is plainly an upward pattern.

With solar panels and basic math, we can determine what does it cost? electrical power will be generated, and most significantly, at exactly what rate, for at least the next 20 years (repaired energy expenses).

A Question About Central A/C And Roof Solar Panels?
A Local Air Conditioning Company Is Advertising Combining Their (Newly Installed) Central Air Conditioning System For Homes, With Roof Solar Panels. They Say That The Combination May Reduce Your Electric Bill. Nothing I Can See To Back-Up Their Claims. Hmmmmm. And They Offer, If You Can Get It; Central Air Conditioning That Runs On Natural Gas. Again, Possibly Cheaper Than Using Electricity. Has Any One Actually Tested To Find Out If Solar Panels And/Or Natural Gas Does, Or Does Not Save You Any Money To Make It Worth The Bother?

Don't do it! It takes years to get your money back. Your better to put the money into insulation and or buying geo thermal unit. I knew someone who install solar panels on his roof to generate hydro and he didn't notice much of a change on his hydro bill and then he had roof problems .
Central air units in last 2 years have become very efficient . Almost half the hydro of ones 10 years ago. If you can afford buy a geo thermal unit. It uses the heat of the ground in the winter 2 heat your house during the winter and the coolness of the ground to cool your house. They aren't cheap though. If you plan on living in your house for more than 10 years and have the room in the yard to install then go for it. No how you slice it though AC units use way more hydro than solar panels can produce. You would need about half a football field with a huge battery storage system to run a AC unit.
When a company states you might on hydro I would stay away. Also remember they do not tell you about the costs of the upkeep on the solar panels and converter and batteries

Solar Panel - Battery Charger 12V?
Hello Yahoo, I Am Doing Another One Of My Wacky Inventions However I Need Something That Will Give Me 12V Of Power! I Don'T Want To Connect Loads Of Aa Batteries Into A Battery Holder As This Shall Run Out Quickly And Become Expensive In The Long Run, I Don'T Want To Carry Around A Big Car Battery Either. I Have Been Searching Around On Amazon.Co.Uk And Found Some Solar-Powered 12V Trickle Chargers. These Say They Shall Work On Cloudy Days (Which Is Perfect As The Majority Of The Time That Is All We Get!) But Could I Use It As An Independent Power Source? If I Attached The Thing I Want To Run To The Solar Panel Will It Supply It With 12V Of Power?

If you want to run something from a solar panel, you should remember that the power from the panel is only available when there is reasonable sunshine on the panel. Usually the solar panels are used with solar regulators in order to charge batteries. These batteries are used as energy storage for when the sun is not shining.

Now, this does not mean that you cannot drive instruments directly from the solar panel and regulator. To do this, you will need a panel that has sufficient power to drive your instrument. An example is the solar powered garden or fountain pumps. I have driven 12V computer fans directly from the small solar panels - useful for cooling of things such as pool pump housings.

The solar regulator is used to convert the solar panel output to a 13.5V output in order to charge lead acid batteries. I have used MPPT regulators (maximum power point tracking) which is more efficient than the standard solar regulator. If you don't use these regulators you may find the solar panel producing up to 17-19V in good sunshine which is not good for your instruments that are expecting 12-13V. Hence the answer to your question is that you will need to have a battery being charged to get useful power from the solar panels via a solar regulator.

How To Make A Solar Panel Work Something (For A Project)?
Hello, Please Reply As Soon As Possible I Need To Buy A Small Solar Panel So I Can Make It Produce Energy To Power Something But I Chose To Power A Very Small Light Because That'S The Easies Thing To Power. I Also Need To Create A House So I Can Put The Light In It For The Maximum Marks, I Seriously Don'T Know How To Make A House And The Teacher Said I Have To Use A Lot Of Materials E.G Wood, Plastic, Foam Etc It Also Has To Be Nice As I Might Go On Display In The School. Can Someone Please Help Me Create A Average Sized House No More Then 50Cm, Can U Please Make Steps And Outline The Materials I Will Need In Order To Create A Nice House Model And Please Make It Easy, Simple And Easily Understandable. The Hardest Part Is To Connect The Solar Panel To A Light I Have No Idea How Im Going To Do This, Can Someone Please Help Me Because Its Due In A Week N 1 Day From Now And I Also Need To Do A 2 Page Formal Letter To The Government, This Is The Letter Part Of The Assignment: You Are A Scientist Who Has Pioneered A Device Which Uses A Renewable Source Of Energy. You Are The First Person To Invent This Device, The Device Is A Solar Panel. The Device You Invent Requires Funding From The Government To Build More Of These Devices And Market Them To Sell To Businesses Or The General Public. You Are Required To Prepare A Two Page Letter Justifying Your Request For Funding. Your Report Should Outline The Following: .The Current Sources Of Energy And How They Are Obtained .The Reason For Then Need Of Renewable Sources Of Energy .How Your Device Works Including A Diagram. Also Outline The Uses Of Your Device . .Why Your Device Should Be Put In To Operation. Some One Please Help Me Asap Please :) , I Couldn'T Complete This Assigment Earlier As I Had Many Assigments And Tests, By The Way Im Currently In Year 9. Thanks Guys, Appriceate It :) :P ;)

But the real reason is you put this off for way too long due to its complexity...that's alright, been there, procrastinated that.

I would get a sheet of 1/4" plywood. Draw out the gable ends of the house with peaked roof, rectangular sides, roof panels and floor. Use strips of solid wood at the corners to join the panels together. Depending on the size of this house, the joining strips could be lengths of 1"x1", 1"x2", or 2"x2". The best method would probably be using white glue and brads or small finishing nails to nail and glue the panels to the joiner strips.

For the solar cell, I would get a small, self-contained photovoltaic charger. This should be locally available at Radio Shack or possibly even a variety store and is all set up to connect to whatever load you want. For lights in the house, the easiest would be small LEDs. Get resistors to connect in series with each LED. The LED's should have a mW power rating and maximum voltage.

If LED has mW power rating, maximum current, i = P/V, where P = maximum power rating of LED and V = rated voltage output of the photovoltaic charger.

The minimum resistor value, R = V / i. Purchase a resistor for each LED larger than the value you calculate. The power rating of the charger and of each LED will determine how many LED's you can power in parallel.

The link below has solar powered LEDs. You could also get a doll house kit at a local hobby shop or toy store if you wanted to make it really easy.

Is It Just Me Or Does It Seem Like Many More People Would Use Solar/Alt. Energy If It Were More Affordable?

The cost of the equipment is the largest obstacle for most people. This is nothing more than pure supply and demand, photovoltaic panels and their associated electronic controls are not cheap to manufacture and many people want them so their cost is high.

Other things also increase the difficulty of installing collectors.

1. In many areas home owner's associations and city building codes will not allow collectors or wind generators to be installed.

2. The home owner is also the owner of the solar equipment, this means that they are responsible for its maintenance and upgrades. When compared to the power grid, which requires nothing more than paying the monthly bill, this is a hassle that most people don't want to be bothered with. I must climb 3 stories above the ground to service my system.

3. The time required to reap a return on the investment is significantly long. Most people move every 7 years and the average time it would take to recoup the initial investment for the system is longer than that. Thus most people who "run the numbers" would consider it a failing investment.

My system will not break even for another 10 to 15 years. I do it because it interests me and will free me (to some extent) from the control of the power company and government.
