About Solar Energy
Solar power is energy from the sun that is transformed into thermal or electrical energy.
Solar energy is the cleanest and most abundant renewable resource source available, and the United States has some of the richest solar resources worldwide. Modern innovation can harness this energy for a variety of usages, consisting of producing electricity, supplying light or a comfortable interior environment, and heating water for domestic, commercial, or industrial usage.
Solar power makes it possible for resident to use the sun to power daily life: running your air conditioner, cleaning clothes, seeing TELEVISION, cooking dinner. All while lowering your carbon footprint, and without burning fossil fuels or putting a stress on the electrical grid. And while the ecological advantages of solar power are significant, lots of property owners find that the benefit, special features, and expense savings of owning a solar power system are a lot more enticing.
Top Ten Advantages of Solar Energy
#1 Significantly minimize or even eliminate your electric expenses
Whether you're a house owner, business, or nonprofit, electrical energy costs can comprise a large portion of your month-to-month expenses. With a photovoltaic panel system, you'll create free power for your system's whole 25+ year lifecycle. Even if you don't produce 100 percent of the energy you take in, solar will decrease your energy bills and you'll still conserve a lot of cash.
#2 Make a great return on your investment
Solar panels aren't an expenditure-- they are among the very best methods to invest, with returns equaling those of more conventional financial investments like stocks and bonds. Thanks to considerable electricity expense savings, the typical American homeowner settles their photovoltaic panel system in seven to eight years and sees an ROI of 20 percent or more.
#3 Secure against rising energy expenses
Among the most clear cut benefits of solar panels is the ability to hedge energy prices. In the previous 10 years, residential electrical power prices have increased by an average of three percent yearly. By investing in a solar energy system now, you can fix your electrical power rate and protect against unforeseeable increases in electricity expenses. If you're a service or property owner with fluctuating capital, going solar likewise assists you much better forecast and handle your expenses.
#4 Increase your home worth
Numerous studies have actually discovered that homes geared up with solar energy systems have higher home values and offer faster than non-solar homes. Appraisers are progressively taking solar setups into factor to consider as they value houses at the time of a sale, and as property buyers become more educated about solar, demand for residential or commercial properties geared up with photovoltaic panel systems will continue to grow.
#5 Increase U.S. energy self-reliance
The sun is a near-infinite source of energy and a crucial part of accomplishing energy self-reliance in the United States. By increasing our capability to generate electricity from the sun, we can also insulate our nation from cost fluctuations in international energy markets.
#6 Create jobs and assist your regional economy
Inning accordance with The Solar Structure, the solar industry added jobs at a rate almost 12 times faster than the general U.S. economy in 2015, representing 1.2 percent of all jobs in the nation. This growth is expected to continue. Because solar-related jobs tend to be higher paying and can not be outsourced, they are a considerable contributor to the U.S. economy.
#7 Safeguard the environment
Solar is a fantastic method to lower your carbon footprint. Buildings are accountable for 38 percent of all carbon emissions in the U.S., and going solar can considerably reduce that number. A common domestic solar panel system will get rid of three to four heaps of carbon emissions each year-- the equivalent of planting over 100 trees yearly.
#8 Show your commitment to sustainability
Sustainability and business social responsibility are essential components of a company's culture and values. They also produce bottom line results. Significantly, consumers and neighborhoods are recognizing and rewarding businesses that opt to run properly. Organisations are finding that "green" credentials are a powerful driver of customer getting choices, producing goodwill and improving organisation results.
#9 Start Saving from Day 1
Solar purchase power arrangements (PPAs) and solar leasing has made it possible for property owners to go solar for little or no cash down.
Lots of house owners opt to fund their solar panels with among the "pay-as-you-go" funding alternatives. This means that a third-party business-- the solar provider-- owns the solar system and looks after setup, upkeep, tracking and repair works. You just pay the solar service provider for electrical energy-- less than you would've paid the energy company.
As of June 2013, 75% of all American homes have access to pay-as-you-go solar.
#10. Solar is a Secure Investment
The utility business are well-known for their varying and undependable electrical power prices. There is plainly an upward trend.
With solar panels and simple math, we can compute what does it cost? electrical power will be created, and most importantly, at exactly what cost, for a minimum of the next 20 years (fixed energy costs).
What are the various payment options?
We have many flexible purchasing agreements for customers who would like to install a new home solar system. There are three different payment options, making them a viable choice for customers of all budgets. The payment options include Lease, PPA, and Purchase.
- Low, fixed payments each month
- System insurance for 20 years, including maintenance
- Flexible end-of-term options, including system upgrade, lease extension, and free panel removal
Power Purchase Agreement (PPA)
- We own the solar panel system
- $0 down for installation
- Customers only pay for the solar energy that they use
- Customer pays for the system upfront and owns the system
- System monitoring and maintenance for 20 years
- Receive 30% federal tax credit
- See a return on investment within 7-10 years
What happens when the contract for my lease is finished?
We provide our customers with a few different options for when their lease contract is up. Customers can upgrade their equipment to the newest solar technology available, extend the agreement, or have the panels removed at no cost.
What is the warranty?
The Lease and PPA include a 20-year warranty during the lifetime of the system. This warranty exceeds that of most other solar installers’ warranties.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can Anyone Explain What Solar Energy Is, And It'S Use?
Solar energy, radiant light and heat from the sun, has been harnessed by humans since ancient times using a range of ever-evolving technologies. Solar radiation, along with secondary solar-powered resources such as wind and wave power, hydroelectricity and biomass, account for most of the available renewable energy on earth. Only a minuscule fraction of the available solar energy is used.
Solar powered electrical generation relies on heat engines and photovoltaics. Solar energy's uses are limited only by human ingenuity. A partial list of solar applications includes space heating and cooling through solar architecture, potable water via distillation and disinfection, daylighting, solar hot water, solar cooking, and high temperature process heat for industrial purposes. To harvest the solar energy, the most common way is to use solar panels.
Solar technologies are broadly characterized as either passive solar or active solar depending on the way they capture, convert and distribute solar energy. Active solar techniques include the use of photovoltaic panels and solar thermal collectors to harness the energy. Passive solar techniques include orienting a building to the Sun, selecting materials with favorable thermal mass or light dispersing properties, and designing spaces that naturally circulate air.
What Are The Advantages And Disadvantages Of A Cooperation With Africa Considering Solar Energy?
Like Installing Solar Panels In The Sahara Desert
That would be a good idea but the problem that there could face would be the money. Africa would face hard time if they decide to spend there money on solar panel rather than food for the dying children.
The advantages would be probley save more money .
Which Is Better For Large Scale Electrical Production; Solar Thermal Applications Or Pv Applications? Reguarding Costs And Amount Of Space Required?
There is some debate about this question. Photovoltaics have a long way to go (although they are improving). Check out these links to someone proposing using a Stirling engine. Maybe that's what you mean by solar thermal.
Why Solar Energy Still Not Widely Used ? Any Restrictions Or Drawbacks Using Solar Energy ?
It costs more in two ways:
1) it costs more per kilowatt-hour to produce, on average, given the capital cost and
2) the energy is effectively paid for with capital cost rather than gradually over years like normal utility power. You can take out loans, but then you get hit with interest.
Someday it will be cheaper than grid power, but probably ten years or more.
(Let me also add that some of hte big oil companies own solar companies, e.g. BP Solar. They're slowly giving up on oil and determined to monopolize the next energy source...)
Please!Tell Me Why Solar Energy Is Considered To Be The Poor-Man'S Choice In Electricity In Morocco?
I Had A Conversation With Dh A Long Time Ago About This. Why Is Solar Energy The Poor-Man'S Choice? I Know Solar Panels Can Be Very Expensive Here--How About There? Do They Have Subsidies To Help Ppl Get Them? It Seems So Sad To See A Country With So Much Sun Not Take Advantage Of It More. Do Any Government Offices Use It? I Guess Not Since It Seems To Be Looked Down Upon..... Anybody Have An Solutions? Lol --It'S Homework Time! ;)
I do not believe it is the poor-man's choice. I think it would be everyone's choice here if they could afford to purchase it.
It is becoming more and more common here (far more common than in the U.S. per capita in my opinion-not an official poll :-p ). Like Nomadic most people I encounter who don't have it want it. The wealthiest neighborhood in Agadir not a villa is without it. We live right in the center of Agadir in a building that is a bit tall by Agadir standard and I can see many of them on houses in the surrounding neighborhoods.
The units that are most common and can be used on a house or villa up to 350 square meters costs about $1000 with installation. I think that is a pretty good price compared to USA (correct me if I am wrong).
We don't use one for our apartment because it is a co-op building and our association doesn't want the roof looking like the typical Moroccan roof top full off dozens of dishes (there are 2 established for everyones use) or solar units. Personally, my husband and I would completely support it but that is another story.
We are not the poor man nor the rich man but we are having it installed on the beach house, (there isn't electricity ran out there yet, lol) but we would of done it even if there was electricity run out there.
I have never noticed any government offices with it but I never really gave it any attention...I'll have to do that.
Government subsidies!?!?! Wouldn't that be nice.....oh a little dream world :-p It would be so great if everyone could use solar energy, I think here the poorest people are likely concerned with getting other things before they would purchase a solar power unit.
