What Our Customers are Saying

"We found all of the employees with whom we in contact from the sales representative to the installers to be knowledgeable and professional. All our questions were answered satisfactorily which is why we decided panels installed. We were also impressed with the company’s A+ rating by the Better Business Bureau.” – Pat S. – Boston

"Our first two bills were approximately $300.00 less than before and our third bill, just received was down about $250.00 from what we were paying! We think it is fantastic!" - William R. - Waltham MA

"They did a wonderful job on my system and I would recommend them to my family and friends!" - Georg S. - Chicopee MA

I cannot express my gratitude for going forward with solar panels. From the initial meeting to discuss the possibility to the techs who eventually installed them. But most of all, it is the savings we have experienced. That first month was unbelievable. Solar plus our other electric source combined was less than our usual monthly expense. During the summer when our electric usage is higher because of the air conditioning, our monthly expense was still less than what we have paid with past summer usage. And if that’s not enough…our present electricity is primarily supplied by the solar panels. We have been building up a reserve with our other electricity source and will be able to draw from that all winter when our panels wont’t generate as much electricity. It’s a win-win situation that we’re just thrilled over. Having a fixed rate locked in is another great feature for savings.” – Virgil T. – Westport MA

About Solar Energy

Solar power is energy from the sun that is transformed into thermal or electrical energy.

Solar energy is the cleanest and most abundant renewable resource source available, and the United States has some of the richest solar resources worldwide. Modern innovation can harness this energy for a variety of usages, consisting of producing electricity, supplying light or a comfortable interior environment, and heating water for domestic, commercial, or industrial usage.

Solar Benefits

Solar power makes it possible for homeowner to use the sun to power everyday life: running your a/c unit, washing clothing, seeing TELEVISION, cooking dinner. All while reducing your carbon footprint, and without burning nonrenewable fuel sources or putting a strain on the electrical grid. And while the environmental benefits of solar power are significant, lots of home owners find that the convenience, special functions, and cost savings of owning a solar power system are much more enticing.

Leading Benefits of Solar Energy

#1 Significantly lower and even remove your electric bills

Whether you're a homeowner, company, or nonprofit, electrical energy expenses can make up a big portion of your regular monthly expenditures. With a photovoltaic panel system, you'll create complimentary power for your system's entire 25+ year lifecycle. Even if you do not produce One Hundred Percent of the energy you take in, solar will lower your energy expenses and you'll still save a great deal of money.

#2 Earn an excellent return on your investment

Solar panels aren't an expenditure-- they are among the finest methods to invest, with returns rivaling those of more standard financial investments like stocks and bonds. Thanks to significant electrical power bill savings, the average American house owner settles their photovoltaic panel system in seven to 8 years and sees an ROI of 20 percent or more.

#3 Protect against increasing energy costs

Among the most clear cut advantages of photovoltaic panels is the capability to hedge utility prices. In the past ten years, residential electrical energy costs have actually increased by an average of 3 percent annually. By purchasing a solar energy system now, you can fix your electrical energy rate and safeguard against unpredictable increases in electrical energy costs. If you're a company or homeowner with fluctuating capital, going solar also assists you much better forecast and handle your expenses.

#4 Increase your home or business worth

Numerous research studies have actually discovered that homes geared up with solar energy systems have higher home values and sell faster than non-solar homes. Appraisers are significantly taking solar setups into consideration as they value homes at the time of a sale, and as property buyers end up being more informed about solar, need for residential or commercial properties geared up with solar panel systems will continue to grow.

#5 Boost U.S. energy independence

The sun is a near-infinite source of energy and a key element of accomplishing energy self-reliance in the United States. By increasing our capability to generate electricity from the sun, we can also insulate our country from price changes in worldwide energy markets.

#6 Develop jobs and help your local economy

According to The Solar Foundation, the solar industry included tasks at a rate almost 12 times faster than the total U.S. economy in 2015, representing 1.2 percent of all jobs in the country. This growth is expected to continue. Since solar-related jobs have the tendency to be greater paying and can not be contracted out, they are a significant factor to the United States economy.

#7 Secure the environment

Solar is an excellent method to reduce your carbon footprint. Buildings are accountable for 38 percent of all carbon emissions in the U.S., and going solar can significantly decrease that number. A common property photovoltaic panel system will remove three to 4 tons of carbon emissions each year-- the equivalent of planting over 100 trees annually.

#8 Demonstrate your dedication to sustainability

Sustainability and corporate social responsibility are important parts of an organization's culture and values. They also produce bottom line results. Increasingly, customers and communities are acknowledging and rewarding services that decide to run properly. Businesses are finding that "green" qualifications are a powerful chauffeur of customer buying decisions, developing goodwill and improving company results.

#9 Start Saving from Day 1

Solar purchase power contracts (PPAs) and solar leasing has actually made it possible for house owners to go solar for little or no cash down.

Many house owners choose to finance their photovoltaic panels with one of the "pay-as-you-go" funding choices. This means that a third-party company-- the solar service provider-- owns the planetary system and takes care of setup, upkeep, tracking and repairs. You simply pay the solar service provider for electrical power-- less than you would've paid the utility company.

Since June 2013, 75% of all American houses have access to pay-as-you-go solar.

#10. Solar is a Secure Financial investment

The energy business are notorious for their varying and unreliable electricity prices. There is clearly an upward pattern.

With solar panels and basic mathematics, we can determine what does it cost? electrical power will be generated, and most importantly, at exactly what cost, for at least the next Twenty Years (fixed energy expenses).

Financing

Frequently Asked Questions

What Size Solar Panel Should I Buy?
I Have Three 12V 12Ah Deep Cycle Batteries That I Pulled From An Electric Scooter That I Plan On Making A Solar Panel System Out Of. They Were Originally Set Up In A Series To Power A 36V Motor But I Paralleled Them Back Down To 12V. I Bought A 400W Power Inverter And I Plan To Run Only A Lamp With An Led Bulb, A Fan, And A Small Portable Dvd Player For Only A Few Hours Per Night When Camping In My Truck Camper. I Was Looking On Ebay And Amazon For Solar Panels And I Cant Spend A Ton Of Money. I'M Not Sure If I Can Get Away With A 30 Watt Pannel Or If I Need To Purchase Something Bigger Like A 50 Watt.

A 400W power inverter usually indicates 400 watts on the output.
Depending on the inefficiencies of the inverter that could be 500W per hour draw on the input.
At 50 Watts it would take 10 hours to get 500W. Of course there are inefficiencies in charging and discharging the batteries as well. Go with the largest one that can fit your roof space and budget.
Remember that you can always rig up the batteries to charge with the truck while heading to the campsite. Even if the batteries do not get fully charged each day they will get a bit. You should start your truck every few days anyway. Let the batteries charge while you do so.

Watch your use. Many devices like LEDs and DVDs can be run on 12 VDC. This would save you a lot of energy that would be lost with the inverter changing DC to AC to have it changed back to DC again.

What Do You Do For The Environment???
And Do You Have Any Good Tips For Others???

I work for a company that is building a LEED certified building, or a Green Building. It is a one million square foot rehab of a historic built in 1930's. Here is how we are helping the environment:
*Recycling the entire building instead of tearing it down and starting over
*Recycling all materials removed from demolition and construction materials
*Using post-consumer recycled materials in our construction
*Using FSC certified wood, or recycled wood, for any blocking in the building
*Using low Volatile Organic Containing Products in the building (paints, adhesives etc.)
*Enforcing an indoor air quality plan to help air quality inside/outside to help future occupants and workers
*Enforcing an Erosion & Sedimentation Control plan so Run-off from construction activities does not pollute local ponds, streams and the ocean
*We shut off lights at the end of the day to save electricity
*We are installing a Green Roof which will absorb rain water run off. We are also collecting the rain water to irrigate the plants and solar panels to power the pumps for the system
*We have underground parking and we are close to public transportation to help emissions
*Utilizing energy efficient mechanical and lighting systems

Another good idea is to use wind to generate electricity

What Kind Of Solar Panels Are Best And What Method Of Storing Power Is The Best?

The solar panels that are "best" are going to be the ones that fit your needs. Since you havn't explained them it is a bit difficult. Solar photovoltaic panels make electricity. There are many different types. (I recently saw information about tube photovoltaic collectors being installed over a greenhouse.)

Solar thermal panels make heat from sunlight but come in 3 major flavors: Solar air panels, solar thermal (water based medium) panels and vacuum tube collectors (often based upon phase change materials) Sometimes a distinction is made between vacuum tube collectors and "flat panel collectors" The cheapest collector will be the one you make yourself, but depending upon your skill level it may not be as effective.

The solar alternative to photovoltaic panels for home electricity is probably the parabolic dish collector with a stirling engine at less convience. There are few solar air panels made commercially as they are easy to make, have what might be the best payback for heating augmentation but need to be adapted to the situation so are often made in place. Solar hot water is probably the next best payback. Solar heat is easier to store with phase change materials than solar electricity is to store with batteries. For solar electric most would use a grid connection for backup.

What Solar Panels Are The Most Efficient?
Currently Being Sold Today! I Know Sunpower Corp. Commercial Panels Are About 20%.

New rollable panels are becoming available that don't have to be permanently attached to a surface and that are more resistant to damage than conventional panels. Right now they are also even less efficient than photo cells at about 10%, but the cost factor may make up the difference.

Solar thermal is more efficient than photovoltaic cells. They focus sunlight with mirrors onto a pipe containing a liquid which is then heated to it's boiling point. That turns a turbine to produce power or is harnessed in some other way. The panels are cheap compared to photo cells, don't require perfect manufacture or exotic materials, no expensive maintenance and they are much easier to repair. I don't know of any available to individuals yet but there are at least two companies building generating plants in Nevada with this technology.

SunPower is about 22% efficient but even at that rate it will take decades to pay for itself and the panels are unlikely to last that long at anything near optimal efficiency. The cost is just too high at present but solar thermal may provide a good alternative until photovoltaic cells mature, if you can cobble together a system.

The final link is about a claimed 80% efficient solar cell that even generates some power at night. It's based on nano-technology, like many promising energy developments in batteries, electrolysis and ethanol production. If it works as advertised it should revolutionize solar tech. Eventually.

What Is Solar Energy And How Do We Get It?
What Is Solar Energy, Where Does It Come From And How Do We Get It For Energy, Whats An Interesting Fact About It

What is solar energy? Solar power is the technology of obtaining usable energy from the light of the Sun.

Where does it come from? From where the solar panel installed

How do we get it for energy? Install it for your house! http://www.solarcity.com/

Interesting fact: You CAN generate more power than you use and sell it back to the electric grid. The system will sell your electricity for you during the day time when the price for electricity is high; and buy it IF you need more power at night time when the price of electricity is low.
