What Our Customers are Saying

"We found all of the employees with whom we in contact from the sales representative to the installers to be knowledgeable and professional. All our questions were answered satisfactorily which is why we decided panels installed. We were also impressed with the company’s A+ rating by the Better Business Bureau.” – Pat S. – Boston

"Our first two bills were approximately $300.00 less than before and our third bill, just received was down about $250.00 from what we were paying! We think it is fantastic!" - William R. - Waltham MA

"They did a wonderful job on my system and I would recommend them to my family and friends!" - Georg S. - Chicopee MA

I cannot express my gratitude for going forward with solar panels. From the initial meeting to discuss the possibility to the techs who eventually installed them. But most of all, it is the savings we have experienced. That first month was unbelievable. Solar plus our other electric source combined was less than our usual monthly expense. During the summer when our electric usage is higher because of the air conditioning, our monthly expense was still less than what we have paid with past summer usage. And if that’s not enough…our present electricity is primarily supplied by the solar panels. We have been building up a reserve with our other electricity source and will be able to draw from that all winter when our panels wont’t generate as much electricity. It’s a win-win situation that we’re just thrilled over. Having a fixed rate locked in is another great feature for savings.” – Virgil T. – Westport MA

About Solar Energy

Solar power is energy from the sun that is transformed into thermal or electrical energy.

Solar energy is the cleanest and most abundant renewable resource source available, and the United States has some of the richest solar resources worldwide. Modern innovation can harness this energy for a variety of usages, consisting of producing electricity, supplying light or a comfortable interior environment, and heating water for domestic, commercial, or industrial usage.

Solar Benefits

Solar power makes it possible for property owner to utilize the sun to power everyday life: running your air conditioning unit, washing clothes, seeing TELEVISION, cooking supper. All while lowering your carbon footprint, and without burning fossil fuels or putting a stress on the electrical grid. And while the environmental advantages of solar power are considerable, numerous residents find that the benefit, distinct functions, and expense savings of owning a solar power system are a lot more alluring.

Leading Benefits of Solar Energy

#1 Significantly lower and even eliminate your electric expenses

Whether you're a homeowner, service, or nonprofit, electrical power costs can make up a big portion of your monthly expenditures. With a photovoltaic panel system, you'll create free power for your system's entire 25+ year lifecycle. Even if you do not produce One Hundred Percent of the energy you consume, solar will reduce your energy expenses and you'll still conserve a great deal of money.

#2 Make a terrific return on your investment

Solar panels aren't a cost-- they are among the very best methods to invest, with returns equaling those of more standard investments like stocks and bonds. Thanks to considerable electrical power expense savings, the average American homeowner pays off their solar panel system in seven to eight years and sees an ROI of 20 percent or more.

#3 Safeguard versus rising energy costs

One of the most clear cut benefits of solar panels is the ability to hedge energy prices. In the past 10 years, domestic electricity rates have gone up by approximately three percent annually. By investing in a solar energy system now, you can fix your electrical power rate and protect versus unforeseeable boosts in electrical power costs. If you're a company or house owner with changing money flow, going solar also assists you much better projection and handle your expenses.

#4 Boost your house value

Multiple research studies have discovered that houses equipped with solar energy systems have greater residential or commercial property worths and sell faster than non-solar houses. Appraisers are increasingly taking solar setups into consideration as they value houses at the time of a sale, and as homebuyers become more informed about solar, need for residential or commercial properties geared up with solar panel systems will continue to grow.

#5 Increase U.S. energy self-reliance

The sun is a near-infinite source of energy and an essential part of attaining energy independence in the United States. By increasing our capacity to produce electricity from the sun, we can also insulate our country from price fluctuations in global energy markets.

#6 Develop jobs and assist your local economy

Inning accordance with The Solar Structure, the solar market added jobs at a rate almost 12 times faster than the total U.S. economy in 2015, representing 1.2 percent of all tasks in the country. This development is anticipated to continue. Due to the fact that solar-related jobs have the tendency to be greater paying and can not be outsourced, they are a substantial factor to the United States economy.

#7 Protect the environment

Solar is a fantastic method to reduce your carbon footprint. Structures are responsible for 38 percent of all carbon emissions in the United States, and going solar can considerably reduce that number. A common domestic photovoltaic panel system will eliminate 3 to four lots of carbon emissions each year-- the equivalent of planting over 100 trees every year.

#8 Show your commitment to sustainability

Sustainability and business social responsibility are very important components of a company's culture and values. They likewise produce bottom line results. Progressively, consumers and neighborhoods are recognizing and rewarding services that decide to run properly. Services are finding that "green" qualifications are a powerful chauffeur of customer getting decisions, developing goodwill and enhancing company outcomes.

#9 Start Saving from Day 1

Solar purchase power arrangements (PPAs) and solar leasing has made it possible for homeowners to go solar for little or no cash down.

Many house owners opt to finance their photovoltaic panels with one of the "pay-as-you-go" funding choices. This indicates that a third-party company-- the solar supplier-- owns the planetary system and takes care of setup, upkeep, monitoring and repair works. You merely pay the solar provider for electrical power-- less than you would've paid the utility company.

As of June 2013, 75% of all American houses have access to pay-as-you-go solar.

#10. Solar is a Secure Financial investment

The utility companies are notorious for their fluctuating and undependable electrical power costs. There is plainly an upward pattern.

With photovoltaic panels and basic math, we can determine just how much electrical power will be produced, and most notably, at what cost, for a minimum of the next 20 years (fixed energy expenses).

Frequently Asked Questions

How Do I Connect Life Science With Energy?
This Is For My Group Project. The Hard Part About This Is That There Isn'T Much To Say. Energy Is Used To Make Us Function. Isn'T That Basically It? Are There Some Other Thigns I Can Add? Do You Think Specific Functions (Whole Lot Of Them, So I Don'T Want To Exclude Some And Include The Others) Should Be Added? Should I Mention Glucose? This Gets Into Molecules, Which Doesn'T Follow What We'Re Doing. Thanks!

There isn't much to say? Not at all. Energy is the central point of life. Why do we breathe? Because we need oxygen for chemical reactions releasing energy. Why does our heart work? Because it pumps blood to circulate oxygen all around our body. Why do we eat? Because we need materials to be burned. Why do we have organs of sense, and why do we move? Because we need to spot our food and to catch it. All life is about finding, getting, digesting, transforming, storing, and using energy. Just selecting a specific function opens an enormous perspective. Do you know for example, that there are two types of muscles - those using sugar (glucose) and those using fat? Sugar provides a powerful but short release of energy. Fat gives a long-lasting, slow energy supply. Runners are sprinters or marathoners depending on which type of muscles is dominant in their body. Also, top cyclists are those guys, whose blood system is able to transport much larger than average amount of oxygen.

You can also consider the evolution of life on Earth. It started from anaerobic bacteria that got energy by converting glucose into lactic acid without using oxygen. Then plants and photosynthesis appeared. Oxygen become abundant, which led to development of aerobic forms of life. Then animals came. Animals are in fact a form of life that eats other forms of life. Some of animals, including humans, eat other animals. It's a chain of energy supply: plants convert solar energy, cows consume plants, we eat beef. More evolved forms of life use simpler forms of life as their energy source. Sounds cruel? Yes, but energetically this is more efficient. Aerobic reactions generate about 20 times more energy per sugar molecule than anaerobic fermentation. And meat is more effective than grass (herbivores did not succeed).

We are so sophisticated and complicated because we eat energetically very effective food, which was "pre-cooked" for us. We have developed a big brain, whose primarily purpose was a "computational support" to help hunting for this food and escaping from predators who would not mind to get us for their lunch. Moreover, we use a lot energy in our every day life - for cars and planes, for all kind of machines that produce goods, for communication and entertainment. Where do we get all this energy? For the time being, we have not invented anything better than burning oil. And oil consists essentially of transformed remnants of plants and animals, accumulated underground during millions of years. Our life totally depends on energy which was produced by leaving creatures.

There is a lot of to say about connections between life science and energy. This is a huge subject, and you can write volumes, and volumes, and volumes about it. You can start from a general overview. Then, you can choose one specific topic for a more detail discussion. Alternatively, you can consider more topics in less details. Start thinking about it, and ideas will come.

How Can We Use Solar Energy?

Solar energy can be used just as you would energy from any other source.
A light-bulb can not distinguish between electricity made from burning coal or from solar panels.

But keep in mind that Solar energy is only generated for a small portion of the day. To use solar energy 24/7 would need to have some way of storing or augmenting the energy .

What Is The Approx Amount Of Energy That Can Be Got From Renewable Sources Of Energy Using The Same Amount ...?
What Is The Approx Amount Of Energy That Can Be Got From Renewable Sources Of Energy Using The Same Amount Of Money That It Would Take To Build One Nuclear Power Plant While Taking Into Account The Mining Of The Uranium, The Transportation Of It, The Building Of The Plant And Its Eventual Decommissioning? So Basically What I’M Looking For Is The Total Energy That Could Be Generated From Renewables From X Amount Of Money That It Would Take To Build One Standard Nuclear Power Plant. I Assume It Would Be Less, But Would It Be Much Less?

You'd have to research the cost of a nuclear plant versus solar farms being built with comparable outputs...as you say, they generally don't consider other costs such as mining, transport of nuclear fuel, processing, storage, increasing costs for fuel and dangers with reactor problems, etc....and some newer solar designs are more efficient than older ones but may cost more.

It's been suggested that the entire US could be provided with enough energy from a solar farm that is 100 miles square...100 X 100 miles....which would equal all the energy we currently produce or use in cars. trucks or the electrical grid from coal, gas and oil. The main drawback is concentrating solar energy in one area of the country and transmitting it to the rest of the country or using methods to convert it into fuels like hydrogen.

One cost comparison of a recent solar farm versus nuclear plant....

"Construction cost is estimated at two billion dollars.

(A nuclear power project requiring two reactors could cost 17 billion.)"
http://cleantechnica.com/2009/05/13/worl...

Another link has this .....

"Quoting from a recent analysis entitled "The Nuclear Illusion", Brown points out the cost of electricity from a new nuclear power plant costs around (USD) 14¢ per kilowatt hour compared to a wind farm's very economical 7¢ per kilowatt hour. The costings take into account capital, general operations and maintenance, transmission and distribution in relation to both options.

However, the nuclear cost doesn't incorporate major expenses including waste disposal, massive insurance premiums and decommissioning of nuclear plants when they reach the end of their serviceable life. With these extra issues, nuclear power generated electricity simply becomes unaffordable according to Brown. On the issue of nuclear waste storage, Brown uses the example of the Yucca Mountain nuclear waste repository in the USA where he estimates the cost for the actual storage, not including transport, is just under USD $1 billion per reactor.

Just a couple of years ago, the cost to construct a 1,500-megawatt nuclear plant was between $2 - 4 billion. As of this year, the figure has skyrocketed to over $7 billion. Uranium costs have increased six-fold since the beginning of this decade."

Fast-breeder reactor designs or thorium fueled reactors could have lower fuel costs and could be safer, be better for proliferation issues, etc...Molten salt designs as well.

"Solar energy is clean, renewable and has vast potential. "If a concentrated solar power system was built that was a hundred mile by hundred mile square in size out in the Southwest (United States), which has some of the best solar resources in the entire world, or you covered 1 percent of the country's land with photovoltaics, either strategy would be more than enough to meet the country's entire energy demand," Chen said. "The sky really is the limit."

A chart on how much land would be required to power the whole world with solar energy. The chart is based on 8 percent efficiency of older solar designs although some newer designs can reach up to 43 percent.

What Does It Mean? Energy?
If Someone Says, &Quot; What Are The Capabilities Of Active And Passive Solar Energy?&Quot; Does It Mean What Are The Benefits Of Active And Passive Solar Energy?

Passive solar and active solar both refer to using solar energy for something useful. They both have their benefits and capabilities, but you need to understand the difference.

Passive solar is essentially trapping heat directly from sunlight, and using to it heat something. It can be as simple as drying clothes on a clothesline, or more complex such as heating water.

Active solar converts the energy in sunlight photons to electricity, and then the electricity can be used for heat, lights, powering your computer, or even to charge batteries.
