About Solar Energy
Solar power is energy from the sun that is transformed into thermal or electrical energy.
Solar energy is the cleanest and most abundant renewable resource source available, and the United States has some of the richest solar resources worldwide. Modern innovation can harness this energy for a variety of usages, consisting of producing electricity, supplying light or a comfortable interior environment, and heating water for domestic, commercial, or industrial usage.
Solar power makes it possible for homeowner to utilize the sun to power everyday life: running your air conditioning unit, cleaning clothing, enjoying TELEVISION, cooking supper. All while lowering your carbon footprint, and without burning nonrenewable fuel sources or putting a stress on the electrical grid. And while the ecological benefits of solar power are considerable, numerous property owners discover that the benefit, unique features, and cost savings of owning a solar power system are a lot more enticing.
Leading Advantages of Solar Energy
#1 Dramatically lower and even remove your electrical expenses
Whether you're a homeowner, business, or not-for-profit, electrical power costs can make up a large portion of your monthly expenses. With a solar panel system, you'll generate free power for your system's entire 25+ year lifecycle. Even if you do not produce One Hundred Percent of the energy you take in, solar will reduce your energy costs and you'll still save a lot of cash.
#2 Make a great return on your investment
Photovoltaic panels aren't an expenditure-- they're one of the best methods to invest, with returns equaling those of more traditional investments like stocks and bonds. Thanks to substantial electrical power bill savings, the average American house owner settles their solar panel system in seven to eight years and sees an ROI of 20 percent or more.
#3 Protect versus increasing energy expenses
Among the most clear cut benefits of solar panels is the ability to hedge utility rates. In the past 10 years, residential electrical energy rates have gone up by an average of 3 percent yearly. By purchasing a solar energy system now, you can repair your electrical power rate and secure versus unforeseeable boosts in electrical energy costs. If you're a company or property owner with ever-changing capital, going solar also assists you better projection and handle your costs.
#4 Boost your property worth
Multiple studies have discovered that homes geared up with solar energy systems have higher residential or commercial property worths and sell quicker than non-solar houses. Appraisers are increasingly taking solar installations into consideration as they value homes at the time of a sale, and as homebuyers end up being more informed about solar, demand for properties geared up with photovoltaic panel systems will continue to grow.
#5 Boost U.S. energy independence
The sun is a near-infinite source of energy and a crucial part of accomplishing energy independence in the United States. By increasing our capacity to produce electrical power from the sun, we can also insulate our nation from cost fluctuations in international energy markets.
#6 Create jobs and help your regional economy
Inning accordance with The Solar Foundation, the solar market included tasks at a rate almost 12 times faster than the general U.S. economy in 2015, representing 1.2 percent of all tasks in the nation. This development is expected to continue. Since solar-related tasks tend to be greater paying and can not be contracted out, they are a significant contributor to the United States economy.
#7 Safeguard the environment
Solar is a terrific method to lower your carbon footprint. Structures are accountable for 38 percent of all carbon emissions in the U.S., and going solar can significantly decrease that number. A typical domestic photovoltaic panel system will eliminate 3 to 4 lots of carbon emissions each year-- the equivalent of planting over 100 trees annually.
#8 Demonstrate your dedication to sustainability
Sustainability and business social responsibility are necessary elements of an organization's culture and worths. They also produce bottom line results. Significantly, customers and neighborhoods are acknowledging and rewarding businesses that pick to run responsibly. Companies are finding that "green" credentials are a powerful motorist of consumer purchasing decisions, creating goodwill and enhancing service results.
#9 Start Conserving from Day 1
Solar purchase power contracts (PPAs) and solar leasing has made it possible for homeowners to go solar for little or no money down.
Lots of property owners opt to finance their photovoltaic panels with one of the "pay-as-you-go" funding choices. This indicates that a third-party business-- the solar service provider-- owns the solar system and takes care of installation, upkeep, tracking and repairs. You merely pay the solar provider for electrical energy-- less than you would've paid the utility business.
As of June 2013, 75% of all American homes have access to pay-as-you-go solar.
#10. Solar is a Secure Investment
The energy companies are notorious for their changing and unreliable electrical power costs. There is plainly an upward trend.
With photovoltaic panels and simple mathematics, we can determine how much electricity will be generated, and most notably, at what cost, for at least the next Twenty Years (repaired energy costs).
What are the various payment options?
We have many flexible purchasing agreements for customers who would like to install a new home solar system. There are three different payment options, making them a viable choice for customers of all budgets. The payment options include Lease, PPA, and Purchase.

What happens when the contract for my lease is finished?
We provide our customers with a few different options for when their lease contract is up. Customers can upgrade their equipment to the newest solar technology available, extend the agreement, or have the panels removed at no cost.
What is the warranty?
The Lease and PPA include a 20-year warranty during the lifetime of the system. This warranty exceeds that of most other solar installers’ warranties.
Frequently Asked Questions
Plz Help, Converting Dc To Ac Solar Panels?
Hello, If I Have A 12V 40W Solar Panel , How Many Watts Would It Produce If I Plug The Output In A 120V Ac Inverter?
At the very most, 40 watts. But that is only when the sun is at it's peak and the panel is correctly aligned to the sun. The inverter will also waste some power.
Unless you live in Florida or someplace similar, you will probably get more like 10 or 20 watts.
Also you will need a battery and a charge controller, as the output of the solar panel varies a lot in voltage, and inverters have a limited operating range.
How Long Does It Take To Charge A 12V Deep Cycle Battery With A 10 Watt Solar Panel?
I Want To Also Know If The 10 Watt Rating On The Solar Panel Is 10 Watts Per Day Or Is It Constantly Adding 10 Watts? Is There A Time Which The 10 Watts Is Being Added Like 10 Watts Per Second Or 10 Watts Per Minute And So On?
a 10w solar panel means at peak efficiency ( high noon, panel pointed flat at the sun, hitting it at 90 degrees), you will get 10 watts (at any given second).
Watts = volts x amps
a 12volt battery needs an "incoming" current of at least 13 volts to charge it; 13.5 volts is better.
so if the output VOLTAGE of the panel is less than 13 volts it wont do anything.
Even if it is, 10 / 13.5 = .74 amp.( three quarters). It will take forever and a day to charge a deeply discharged deep cycle battery..........
consider that a small 110v battery charger is putting out 3-5 amps ( or 3 x 110 =330 Watts) and the alternator on a car is putting out 20 to 50 amps at 14 volts ( 280 to 730 Watts).
Is This Solar Panel Worth Buying?
It Cost $200 Online But Its Currently On Sale In The Store For $180. I Plan On Using It For When I Go Camping To Charge A 12V Battery To Power A Tv, Or Other Electrical Needs.
my experience with harbor freight is cheap tools, but not great quality, i guess its what you get what you pay for, but if your only using it for camping here and there and watching TV while you are out there it might do alright, usually their tools dont last too long, but that does seem like a good deal as long as it works well and you get your money out of it.
there is also other web sites out there that give you step-by-step directions on how to build solar panels with hardware store parts for very cheap, this site seems like one of the best ones
Can One Buy Wind Deflectors For Solar Panels?
I'Ve Installed Some Solar Panels Near The Ground, But Even Though They'Re Protected From The Wind, Snow Is Building Up On Them. I'D Like To Install Some Deflectors To Channel The Wind Up And Over The Back End Of The Panels So That Less Snow Builds Up On The Surface. The Strip Of Panels Is About 70' Long.
Thanks Very Much.
Go to a farm supply store and buy some "snow fencing", rolls of four foot long wooden slats connected with wire, and put it up all around your solar panels. Any blown snow will be trapped by the snow fence, and the only snow on your panels will have fallen on them directly from above. Unless you get very heavy snow, the heat from the solar panels should melt snow that falls them directly, and it should mostly slide off by itself.
Can I Connect 5Kw Of Solar Panels To A 1Kw Grid Tie Inverter?
I Have 5Kw Max Output Of Solar Panels, But Only Have At Present A 1Kw Grid Tie Inverter. Early Morning And Late Evening These Panels Will Only Produce At 20% And Deliver 1Kw So Can I Connect Them All To The Inverter And Leave Them Connected Without Overloading It At Mid Day?
oeman50 is wrong Solar panels don't LOAD the inverter, they supply it. A bit like your refrigerator uses about 600 watts, but it is connected to a municipal power supply capable of delivering megawatts, but it doesn't get overloaded.
However, there is a possibility of over-driving the inverter. Check the voltage output from the panels at peak illumination. You need to check the specs of the inverter to ensure that the voltage at maximum illumination does not exceed the maximum input voltage of the inverter. Allow at least 10% margin, so that if the panels output 80 volts at peak illumination, the inverter should be good for AT LEAST 88 volts. 20% might be more conservative.
A typical peak illumination might be about 1200 watts per square meter.
