What Our Customers are Saying

"We found all of the employees with whom we in contact from the sales representative to the installers to be knowledgeable and professional. All our questions were answered satisfactorily which is why we decided panels installed. We were also impressed with the company’s A+ rating by the Better Business Bureau.” – Pat S. – Boston

"Our first two bills were approximately $300.00 less than before and our third bill, just received was down about $250.00 from what we were paying! We think it is fantastic!" - William R. - Waltham MA

"They did a wonderful job on my system and I would recommend them to my family and friends!" - Georg S. - Chicopee MA

I cannot express my gratitude for going forward with solar panels. From the initial meeting to discuss the possibility to the techs who eventually installed them. But most of all, it is the savings we have experienced. That first month was unbelievable. Solar plus our other electric source combined was less than our usual monthly expense. During the summer when our electric usage is higher because of the air conditioning, our monthly expense was still less than what we have paid with past summer usage. And if that’s not enough…our present electricity is primarily supplied by the solar panels. We have been building up a reserve with our other electricity source and will be able to draw from that all winter when our panels wont’t generate as much electricity. It’s a win-win situation that we’re just thrilled over. Having a fixed rate locked in is another great feature for savings.” – Virgil T. – Westport MA

About Solar Energy

Solar power is energy from the sun that is transformed into thermal or electrical energy.

Solar energy is the cleanest and most abundant renewable resource source available, and the United States has some of the richest solar resources worldwide. Modern innovation can harness this energy for a variety of usages, consisting of producing electricity, supplying light or a comfortable interior environment, and heating water for domestic, commercial, or industrial usage.

Solar Benefits

Solar power makes it possible for homeowner to utilize the sun to power daily life: running your air conditioning unit, cleaning clothing, viewing TELEVISION, cooking supper. All while reducing your carbon footprint, and without burning nonrenewable fuel sources or putting a stress on the electrical grid. And while the environmental advantages of solar power are considerable, numerous property owners find that the convenience, distinct features, and cost savings of owning a solar power system are a lot more alluring.

Top Ten Advantages of Solar Energy

#1 Drastically lower and even remove your electrical expenses

Whether you're a property owner, organization, or nonprofit, electrical power costs can comprise a big part of your regular monthly expenditures. With a solar panel system, you'll generate totally free power for your system's entire 25+ year lifecycle. Even if you don't produce 100 percent of the energy you take in, solar will minimize your utility expenses and you'll still conserve a lot of loan.

#2 Earn a terrific return on your investment

Solar panels aren't a cost-- they're one of the very best methods to invest, with returns matching those of more standard financial investments like stocks and bonds. Thanks to significant electrical power bill savings, the average American homeowner pays off their photovoltaic panel system in seven to eight years and sees an ROI of 20 percent or more.

#3 Safeguard against increasing energy costs

Among the most clear cut advantages of solar panels is the ability to hedge energy prices. In the past ten years, residential electrical energy prices have actually gone up by approximately 3 percent annually. By investing in a solar energy system now, you can repair your electrical energy rate and safeguard against unpredictable increases in electrical power expenses. If you're a company or property owner with ever-changing capital, going solar also assists you much better forecast and handle your expenditures.

#4 Increase your house value

Numerous research studies have actually found that houses geared up with solar energy systems have greater home worths and sell faster than non-solar homes. Appraisers are significantly taking solar installations into consideration as they value houses at the time of a sale, and as homebuyers become more educated about solar, demand for properties geared up with photovoltaic panel systems will continue to grow.

#5 Boost U.S. energy self-reliance

The sun is a near-infinite source of energy and a key element of achieving energy self-reliance in the United States. By increasing our capacity to generate electrical energy from the sun, we can also insulate our country from rate changes in global energy markets.

#6 Develop jobs and help your local economy

Inning accordance with The Solar Foundation, the solar market added tasks at a rate almost 12 times faster than the total U.S. economy in 2015, representing 1.2 percent of all tasks in the nation. This development is anticipated to continue. Because solar-related tasks have the tendency to be greater paying and can not be contracted out, they are a considerable contributor to the United States economy.

#7 Protect the environment

Solar is a fantastic way to decrease your carbon footprint. Structures are responsible for 38 percent of all carbon emissions in the United States, and going solar can significantly reduce that number. A normal property photovoltaic panel system will eliminate 3 to four loads of carbon emissions each year-- the equivalent of planting over 100 trees annually.

#8 Show your commitment to sustainability

Sustainability and corporate social duty are very important components of an organization's culture and values. They also produce bottom line outcomes. Progressively, customers and communities are recognizing and rewarding businesses that decide to run responsibly. Services are finding that "green" qualifications are an effective driver of consumer getting decisions, producing goodwill and enhancing service results.

#9 Start Saving from Day 1

Solar purchase power contracts (PPAs) and solar leasing has made it possible for property owners to go solar for little or no money down.

Lots of property owners pick to finance their solar panels with among the "pay-as-you-go" financing alternatives. This means that a third-party company-- the solar supplier-- owns the planetary system and looks after setup, upkeep, tracking and repairs. You merely pay the solar provider for electrical power-- less than you would've paid the utility company.

As of June 2013, 75% of all American houses have access to pay-as-you-go solar.

#10. Solar is a Secure Investment

The utility companies are infamous for their varying and unreliable electricity costs. There is clearly an upward pattern.

With solar panels and easy math, we can calculate how much electrical power will be produced, and most notably, at what price, for a minimum of the next Twenty Years (repaired energy expenses).

Frequently Asked Questions

Why Aren'T There Solar Panels On Airplanes To Reduce Fuel Use?
The Plane Wouldn'T Be Fully Powered By Solar Panels But Would Be A Hybrid.

The biggest problem today is that the solar panels simply aren't efficient enough to generate the electricity. Airplanes today already have a separate generator just to power the interior electronics. Maybe in the future they will find some material that's more conductive and the idea will be a reality. Angle to the sun may be an issue too, on second thought.

Solar Panels And Snow?
We Just Had Our First Negative Experience With Our Solar Panels, When The Snow On The Roof Came Tumbling Down, Taking Out A Rear Fence And Then Taking Out Our Christmas Lights And Walkway Path Lights. There Was Only About 4-5&Quot; Of Snow Up There And It Sounded Like A Truck Passed By. So I Am Think What If We Get 12&Quot; Of Snow Or More? My Roof Is Very High And Hard To Get To And They Told Me That A Snow Rake Could Damage The Panels. Mine Rake Wouldn'T Reach Anyway. I'D Need Something 40' - 50' Long And Pretty Light Weight. Any Ideas Or Experiences?

You could be liable for anyone getting a stiff neck from a snow fall from your solar roof. Is your insurance up to it ? Suggest posting a sign at your entrance declaring a hard hat area.

Solar Panel Inverters?
I Want To Plug My Solar System Battery Bank Into My Transfer Switch On My Cabin When Not Using A Generator. The Transfer Switch Will Handle 220 Volt From My Generator. How Do I Get A 220 Volt Inverter That Runs 60 Hz Or Do All Of Them Run 50 Hz. I See Plenty Of 120 Volt 60 Hz. I'M At The Point Of Needing To Order One And I'M Not Sure.

Investors in this ground-breaking technology include Rockport Capital Partners, Third Point Ventures and Applied Ventures, the venture capital arm of solar equipment manufacturer Applied Materials.

Enphase Energy's CEO Paul Nahi said the company raised money earlier than expected due to strong demand for its microinverters.

So what are these microinverters?

The Enphase Micro-inverter shifts DC to AC conversion from a large, centralized inverter to a compact unit attached directly to each solar module in the power system.

Distributing the conversion process to each module makes the entire solar power system more productive, reliable, and smarter than traditional solar panel inverter systems.

Usually, one single inverter is dedicated to a rooftop array of panels for a homeowner. Enphase Energy, however, have built a DC-to-AC inverter that is placed on each single panel.

This makes it more reliable than a centralized inverter and more efficient, so panels can generate more electricity, Nahi said.

Enphase has already started shipping its microinverters and has tied up deals with several panel distributors and installers.

The future of inverters?

Enphase Energy has been able to improve the DC-to-AC conversion efficiency to around 95%.

Because of this, Nahi predicted more companies will turn to decentralized inverters.

"There's been very little question on the benefits of microinverters, but people didn't think it was possible to get the efficiency levels required," he said.

Now it seems that they have.

Lighting My Pond With Solar Panels?
Hi, I Got A Pond And I Am Planning Of Putting Some Lights On It During Night Time. But I Want To Use Solar Panels And I Have Done A Bit Of Research About Solar Panels And I Know How They Work, I Know That The Common Voltage To Use Is 12V So You Can Use Car Batteries Or Deep Cycle Batteries, But My Question Is: 1. What Wattage Of Bulb Can You Recommend 2. How Long It Would Take To Drain My Battery (Can I Have It Overnight) 3. And What Wattage Of Solar Panel Should I Get Enough To Recharge My Battery The Next Day. Hope Anyone Can Help.. Thanks

There are solar lighting controllers that control charging the battery during the day, and then turning on and off the lights at night. It will also manage turning off the lights if the batteries get too low. http://www.altestore.com/store/Charge-Co...

The size of the battery and solar panels depends on how much power you use. You should definitely use the lowest power lights you can, LED's are great for solar. I haven't used this site, but they do have a selection of outdoor 12V DC lights that should work great, http://www.theledlight.com/landscape.htm... Once you decide how many lights you want, you would add up the watts of all of them, multiple it by the number of hours you want them on (doesn't make sense to have them on in the middle of the night when no one is there). You will end up with the number of watt hours you need a day (for example, 12W of lights total x 6 hours = 72watt hours (wh)). Put that number into an off-grid calculator like this one, http://www.altestore.com/store/calculato... select 12V, and it will tell you how big of a battery bank and how big of a solar panel you need. For my example, I need a 17ah 12V battery and a 20watt panel.

What Kind Insulation Is Perfect To Keep Heated Water In A Plastic Water Tank?
My Father And Me Are Trying To Make This Natural Heating Water System. It Is Going To Contain A Tube That Traps The Water. Then, That Trap Water Will Stay Inside The Tube A Heat Up From The Sun.After, That A Computerize Valve Opener Will Release The The Water Into A 20 Gallon Water Tank. So I Want To Keep That Hot Water For A Long Period Of Time(Like For Only 6 Thru 12 Hours ) , And If It Waterproof That Will Be Better. By The Way I'M Doing This Because Not To Have A High Electricity Bill. Plus I Don'T Want To Deal With Home Association Saying I Can'T Put Solar Panels In My Roof

If these twits say you can't have solar panels on your roof! Then how about on the side of your house, just under the eaves on the right angles facing the sun.
Get a Sunset Home-owner's guide to solar heating & in it you will find lots of good ideas for your project! Sorry I can't give you a web site co's book has been around for zonks & before computers were available & connected to the world!

As for the insulation there is a two pot foam available that is used in the building trade to insulate walls and cavities where pipes pass from the inside to the outside.Keep the surface area of your 20 gallon tank down to the bare minimum so that the water stays warm. The larger the surface area the quicker the water will cool!
