What Our Customers are Saying

"We found all of the employees with whom we in contact from the sales representative to the installers to be knowledgeable and professional. All our questions were answered satisfactorily which is why we decided panels installed. We were also impressed with the company’s A+ rating by the Better Business Bureau.” – Pat S. – Boston

"Our first two bills were approximately $300.00 less than before and our third bill, just received was down about $250.00 from what we were paying! We think it is fantastic!" - William R. - Waltham MA

"They did a wonderful job on my system and I would recommend them to my family and friends!" - Georg S. - Chicopee MA

I cannot express my gratitude for going forward with solar panels. From the initial meeting to discuss the possibility to the techs who eventually installed them. But most of all, it is the savings we have experienced. That first month was unbelievable. Solar plus our other electric source combined was less than our usual monthly expense. During the summer when our electric usage is higher because of the air conditioning, our monthly expense was still less than what we have paid with past summer usage. And if that’s not enough…our present electricity is primarily supplied by the solar panels. We have been building up a reserve with our other electricity source and will be able to draw from that all winter when our panels wont’t generate as much electricity. It’s a win-win situation that we’re just thrilled over. Having a fixed rate locked in is another great feature for savings.” – Virgil T. – Westport MA

About Solar Energy

Solar power is energy from the sun that is transformed into thermal or electrical energy.

Solar energy is the cleanest and most abundant renewable resource source available, and the United States has some of the richest solar resources worldwide. Modern innovation can harness this energy for a variety of usages, consisting of producing electricity, supplying light or a comfortable interior environment, and heating water for domestic, commercial, or industrial usage.

Solar Benefits

Solar power makes it possible for property owner to use the sun to power everyday life: running your air conditioning unit, washing clothing, viewing TELEVISION, cooking supper. All while minimizing your carbon footprint, and without burning fossil fuels or putting a stress on the electrical grid. And while the ecological benefits of solar power are significant, many home owners find that the benefit, special functions, and cost savings of owning a solar power system are even more alluring.

Top Ten Benefits of Solar Energy

#1 Significantly minimize and even remove your electric costs

Whether you're a house owner, organization, or nonprofit, electrical power costs can make up a large portion of your month-to-month costs. With a photovoltaic panel system, you'll generate free power for your system's entire 25+ year lifecycle. Even if you don't produce One Hundred Percent of the energy you consume, solar will minimize your energy costs and you'll still conserve a lot of money.

#2 Make a terrific return on your financial investment

Photovoltaic panels aren't an expense-- they are among the very best methods to invest, with returns measuring up to those of more traditional financial investments like stocks and bonds. Thanks to considerable electrical power costs cost savings, the average American property owner settles their solar panel system in seven to 8 years and sees an ROI of 20 percent or more.

#3 Safeguard versus rising energy costs

Among the most clear cut benefits of photovoltaic panels is the capability to hedge energy costs. In the previous ten years, property electrical power rates have gone up by approximately three percent yearly. By investing in a solar energy system now, you can fix your electrical power rate and protect against unpredictable boosts in electricity costs. If you're a service or house owner with rising and falling cash circulation, going solar also assists you better projection and handle your expenses.

#4 Boost your house worth

Numerous studies have actually found that homes geared up with solar energy systems have greater residential or commercial property values and offer faster than non-solar houses. Appraisers are increasingly taking solar installations into consideration as they value homes at the time of a sale, and as property buyers become more informed about solar, need for homes geared up with solar panel systems will continue to grow.

#5 Increase U.S. energy independence

The sun is a near-infinite source of energy and a crucial component of achieving energy self-reliance in the United States. By increasing our capability to produce electricity from the sun, we can also insulate our nation from price changes in worldwide energy markets.

#6 Create jobs and help your local economy

Inning accordance with The Solar Structure, the solar market included jobs at a rate nearly 12 times faster than the overall U.S. economy in 2015, representing 1.2 percent of all tasks in the nation. This development is anticipated to continue. Due to the fact that solar-related jobs have the tendency to be greater paying and can not be contracted out, they are a considerable contributor to the United States economy.

#7 Secure the environment

Solar is an excellent method to minimize your carbon footprint. Buildings are accountable for 38 percent of all carbon emissions in the U.S., and going solar can substantially reduce that number. A typical domestic photovoltaic panel system will remove 3 to four tons of carbon emissions each year-- the equivalent of planting over 100 trees each year.

#8 Demonstrate your dedication to sustainability

Sustainability and corporate social duty are necessary components of a company's culture and worths. They also produce bottom line outcomes. Increasingly, consumers and communities are recognizing and rewarding services that decide to operate properly. Services are finding that "green" credentials are a powerful motorist of customer getting choices, creating goodwill and enhancing organisation outcomes.

#9 Start Saving from Day 1

Solar purchase power arrangements (PPAs) and solar leasing has actually made it possible for homeowners to go solar for little or no loan down.

Lots of homeowners pick to finance their photovoltaic panels with one of the "pay-as-you-go" financing choices. This indicates that a third-party business-- the solar company-- owns the planetary system and takes care of installation, upkeep, monitoring and repairs. You merely pay the solar service provider for electrical energy-- less than you would've paid the energy business.

Since June 2013, 75% of all American houses have access to pay-as-you-go solar.

#10. Solar is a Secure Financial investment

The utility companies are infamous for their fluctuating and undependable electrical power prices. There is plainly an upward trend.

With solar panels and easy math, we can compute how much electricity will be generated, and most significantly, at exactly what rate, for a minimum of the next 20 years (fixed energy expenses).

Frequently Asked Questions

Solar Panel Batteries?
My Grandfather Just Purchased A Cheap Solar Panel Kit For His Ranch That Could Not Muster Enough Power To Run His Mini Fridge. He Has Two 6 Volt Batteries Running Positive To Negative And Would Like To Add More Batteries. Probably 12Volt. How Would He Go About Hooking Up The Other Batteries And What Kind Of Wire Or Coil Should He Use. Also, I Saw On Youtube A Guy Recommending A Lead-Acid Battery From Walmart For Under $20. I Was Just Going To Go To Ecology And Just Pick Up Some Used Batteries But I May Be Wrong. Any Help For A First Timer Might Help Me And My Gramps Out Will Be Appreciated. Thank You

If he is going to be running off batteries at night, he would be better off with "traction" batteries.
Traction batteries are true deep cycle and can better withstand deep discharge. Golf cart batteries at Sam's Club (the other half of Walmart) are "traction batteries."

If your grandfather needs safe refrigeration, a mini fridge won't do it. A 110 fridge takes too much power to run off solar panels and most won't hold their cold very well if unplugged for long.

I run a fridge off grid with hybrid deep cycle marine starting batteries. It's an Engel 40. The price has gone up over $100 since I bought mine. It's a real fridge with a compressor and freon 134a. But it runs on 12v dc or 110vac and only uses 36 watts running because of a special compressor design. It will freeze food if you turn the dial down to 2 out of 5. It can also deep freeze.

I use mine to keep eggs, milk, cheese and fruit juice.

Your grandfather would need 400 amp-hours name plate rating of batteries at 12v to run the Engel, and probably 100 real watts of panels to recharge his battery bank. The Harbor Freight 45 watt panel set only puts out 30 watts on a clear cool day. That won't do it.

Do Solar Panels End Up Paying For Themselves?
Are Solar Panels For Your Home Worth It? They Seem Really Expensive. Does It Pay Off? Please Include Your Source.

Yes, per Forbes.

How Many 80 Watt Solar Panels Are Needed To Power A Ranch Style Home?

Well, I have a 200 amp load center in my house. 110 volts x 200 amps = 22,000 watts (22 KW).

22,000 / 80 = 275

However, I can get by with the 7KW generator in my motorhome. So, let's say about 88.

That would still leave you enough extra most of the time to charge batteries. You would probably need a backup though in case of several days in a row in the winter of cloudy skies.

What Are Some Postive Changes To Help Improve The Climate Change?

All we need to do is take out as much CO2 from burning fossil fuels as we put into it. Right now the best thing we can do things to reduce emissions by reducing energy waste and by using renewable energy sources. I will design my next home to have a large South facing roof and cover the entire roof with solar panels as they are getting very cheap, the electricity I will store in batteries and any excess energy I will use to charge my plug in hybrid. I am currently looking I can replace the shingles with solar panels without having leaks or the panels overheating and hope to have a roof that last longer and save even more money.

Is It True, We Can Have As Much Energy As We Like, So Long As It'S Green? If Not, What Are The Limitations?
This Is Probably Not A Question For Deniers, My Starting Point Is That Anthropogenic Global Warming Is True! Also, I Am Not Thinking Of Individuals, Corporations Or Nations With This Question, But Of The Planet As A Whole. It'S Not Our Energy Use That Causes Agw But The Greenhouse Gasses That Result From The Types Of Energy We Are Using. So If We Are To Solve The Problem We Need To Phase Out The Polluting Types Of Energy In Favour Of Others. I Realise That Many Of These Are Less Efficient, More Expensive, Or Have Other Environmental Conseques, But Wouldn'T It Be Better To Live With These Rather Than With An Over-Warm Planet? Solar, Wind, Tidal, Geothermal, Nuclear, Even Wood Burning Is Carbon Neutral So Long As You Replant! From A Global Warming Perspective, There Would Be No Need To Limit These As They Wouldn'T Contribute To Agw. We Could Have As Much As We Like! Couldn'T We?

Not exactly. We can not grow an infinite amount of wood unless we have water on the ground. Replanting alone does not work in drought stricken forest land. And then we have people trying to grow food interfering with the number of hectares available for forestry. There appears to be a competition for land and water.

Global warming causes our drought situation, but merely replanting trees does not solve it. Trees must have water to grow, to absorb CO2.
The trees already have lots of CO2. It is water they need.

Solar suffers from the problem of competition for land too. Now if we were covering all the desert regions of the world with solar panels, so that we do not create competition for food growing land we might be able to provide most of our current demand for electricity, but we need to be irrigating those arid lands, and growing trees on them. We can not remove CO2 from the atmosphere economically unless we deploy water and trees on land not already in crop production.

Nuclear power does have a potential to produce extremely large amounts of energy with only heat as an unwanted emission. That heat allows the atmosphere to hold more water vapour, a GHG, This says we have to use with discretion, not an infinite supply. Next, Nuclear fuel is not immediately available in infinite quantities, and we have not really developed fusion reactors.

You do allude to cost, and we tend to object when we have to pay more for energy than the benefits of the energy. So, it becomes a moot point that theoretically we could have infinite energy if we can not afford to buy it. The fact that some other form of energy would cost more does not make any given energy a buy in,

I think we should avoid promises of virtually infinite energy and stick to all we currently foresee needing, and keep on working to reduce that.
