About Solar Energy
Solar power is energy from the sun that is transformed into thermal or electrical energy.
Solar energy is the cleanest and most abundant renewable resource source available, and the United States has some of the richest solar resources worldwide. Modern innovation can harness this energy for a variety of usages, consisting of producing electricity, supplying light or a comfortable interior environment, and heating water for domestic, commercial, or industrial usage.
Solar power makes it possible for homeowner to utilize the sun to power daily life: running your air conditioner, washing clothing, viewing TELEVISION, cooking supper. All while reducing your carbon footprint, and without burning nonrenewable fuel sources or putting a pressure on the electrical grid. And while the ecological benefits of solar power are considerable, lots of property owners find that the convenience, special features, and expense savings of owning a solar power system are much more enticing.
Top Ten Advantages of Solar Energy
#1 Significantly lower or even remove your electrical bills
Whether you're a homeowner, service, or not-for-profit, electrical power costs can make up a big portion of your monthly expenses. With a photovoltaic panel system, you'll create totally free power for your system's whole 25+ year lifecycle. Even if you don't produce 100 percent of the energy you take in, solar will decrease your utility costs and you'll still save a great deal of money.
#2 Earn a fantastic return on your investment
Solar panels aren't an expense-- they are among the very best ways to invest, with returns equaling those of more conventional investments like stocks and bonds. Thanks to considerable electrical energy bill cost savings, the typical American property owner settles their solar panel system in 7 to 8 years and sees an ROI of 20 percent or more.
#3 Secure versus increasing energy costs
One of the most clear cut advantages of solar panels is the ability to hedge energy rates. In the past 10 years, property electrical energy prices have actually gone up by an average of 3 percent annually. By buying a solar energy system now, you can repair your electricity rate and protect against unpredictable increases in electricity expenses. If you're a business or homeowner with changing cash circulation, going solar likewise assists you much better forecast and handle your expenditures.
#4 Boost your home value
Numerous studies have actually discovered that houses geared up with solar energy systems have greater home values and offer more rapidly than non-solar homes. Appraisers are increasingly taking solar setups into consideration as they value houses at the time of a sale, and as homebuyers become more educated about solar, demand for properties equipped with photovoltaic panel systems will continue to grow.
#5 Increase U.S. energy self-reliance
The sun is a near-infinite source of energy and an essential component of achieving energy self-reliance in the United States. By increasing our capacity to produce electrical energy from the sun, we can also insulate our country from rate changes in global energy markets.
#6 Develop jobs and assist your local economy
According to The Solar Foundation, the solar market included jobs at a rate nearly 12 times faster than the overall U.S. economy in 2015, representing 1.2 percent of all jobs in the nation. This development is expected to continue. Since solar-related tasks tend to be greater paying and can not be contracted out, they are a significant factor to the U.S. economy.
#7 Secure the environment
Solar is a great method to reduce your carbon footprint. Buildings are accountable for 38 percent of all carbon emissions in the United States, and going solar can significantly reduce that number. A normal domestic solar panel system will get rid of 3 to 4 lots of carbon emissions each year-- the equivalent of planting over 100 trees annually.
#8 Show your dedication to sustainability
Sustainability and business social duty are essential parts of a company's culture and worths. They also produce bottom line outcomes. Significantly, customers and neighborhoods are acknowledging and rewarding businesses that opt to run properly. Organisations are finding that "green" qualifications are a powerful driver of customer acquiring decisions, developing goodwill and improving organisation outcomes.
#9 Start Conserving from Day 1
Solar purchase power contracts (PPAs) and solar leasing has actually made it possible for house owners to go solar for little or no money down.
Lots of house owners pick to fund their photovoltaic panels with one of the "pay-as-you-go" funding options. This indicates that a third-party company-- the solar supplier-- owns the planetary system and takes care of installation, maintenance, monitoring and repairs. You merely pay the solar provider for electrical power-- less than you would've paid the energy company.
As of June 2013, 75% of all American houses have access to pay-as-you-go solar.
#10. Solar is a Secure Investment
The utility companies are well-known for their changing and unreliable electrical power rates. There is plainly an upward trend.
With solar panels and basic math, we can determine how much electricity will be created, and most significantly, at exactly what rate, for a minimum of the next Twenty Years (repaired energy expenses).
What are the various payment options?
We have many flexible purchasing agreements for customers who would like to install a new home solar system. There are three different payment options, making them a viable choice for customers of all budgets. The payment options include Lease, PPA, and Purchase.

Frequently Asked Questions
Joule Thief Vs Solar Panel?
Ok, So I'Ve Been Having Much Success With The Joule Thief Circuit And A Led, But I Tried Hooking It Up To A Small Solar Panel That Can Put Out 2.5V On It'S Own, And Can Light Up A White Led Dimly By It Self To The Joule Thief And It Will Not Work ....My Question Is Why? I Already Trouble Shooted It, The Circuit Is Not The Problem, Is It The Amount Of Amps The Small Solar Panel Is Capable Of? Not Enough?
Solar panels convert light energy to electrical energy with an efficiency of around 15%.
A "SMALL" solar panel will only produce a small amount of power (watts)
your joule thief circuit wont help because as you draw more current from the solar panel the voltage will drop; and your joule thief circuit just reduces the efficiency of the whole system
Try adding another solar cell in series to get more voltage and more power.
Why Not Make Solar Panels Mandatory?
The Way I See It If Every New House Over 1000Sq.Ft. Puts A Solar Panel On There Roof Coal Factories Wouldn'T Have To Put Out As Much Electricity. Then Make All New Commercial Buildings Over A Certain Sq.Ft. Be Required To Put Solar Panels On. The Bigger The Building, More Solar Panels. The Government Should Make This Technology Cheaper And Easier To Buy. New Buildings And Houses Can Add It On There Mortgage. Etc. Just A Thought. Please Send Replies I Am Thinking About Calling My Representative.
The Average System Is 15-30 Thousand Dollars But That For A System To Power Your House All Day And Night. Of Course You Don'T Create Power At Night But You Electric Company Buys What You Don'T Use. I'M Asking To Put A 5Kwh Or Smaller On All New Houses Put The Cost In You Mortgage Should Only Add 1-5 Thousand Dollars.
The price is to high! the systems fail. the though is good. mandatory? we need an energy policy that promotes clean energy/wind, solar PV, solar thermal, solar hot water, solar A/C and chillers, nukes, and taxes to the real price of oil, coal, beef....
Solar Paneling - How Good Is It? Worth The Set Up Costs?
Any Information On Solar Paneling Now, How Is It Better, How Long Will A Panel Last, Can I Run An Entire Home On It If I Have The Right Amount Of Sunlight? Any Info From People With First Hand Experience Would Be Appreciated.
It depends a lot on where you live for two reasons - how much sun you get, and the financials - price of electricity and possible incentives.
I'd suggest solar hot water first - cheaper to put in, quicker payback.
We put up solar electric in 2006. It's not a big moneymaker in our location, and also, I unfortunately oversized our system. Still, it's comparable to the electric company, maybe a slight savings over time. Pretty much no maintenance, no problems.
What you can do is get a local solar installer to quote you on a system, then compare that to your possible electric bills over the life of the system. It will likely last 20-25 years - that's the standard warranty on panels.
Solar Panels Question: What Module (Approximate Kw?) Can Be Installed On A 900 Sq. Feet Flat Roof Near Toronto?
Hi, Feedback From Anyone With Knowledge On The Topic Would Be Appreciated! Thanks.
Toronto is about latitude 45 degrees. A flat roof does not sound like a good place to put solar panels at high latitude. Even if we ignore the issue of snow collecting on the panels, if you lay them flat on the roof, you'll throw away some 30 percent of the energy right off the bat. And if you arrange the panels in tilted rows, then the front row will block the one behind it in the winter. All that said, if the roof is a square, 30 feet on a side, it seems you could fit a single tilted row of panels on it without drawbacks. I'm guessing that would be 2.5 kW or so. That also assumes there are no obstructions like other buildings, wires, or drain vents.
Try contacting a local solar installer for an opinion.
12 Volt Solar Panel + Dc To Ac Inverter?
Can You Use A 12 Volt Solar Panel With A Cigarette Lighter Connector Straight To A Dc To Ac Inverter? To Charge Things Like A Laptop (Or Hold A Charge, May Not Be Powerful Enough To Charge It)
Maybe Have A Battery Between? Would That Help? Like A Motorcycle Battery? Im Going On A Trip And Need A Cheap Way To Keep Things Charged.
You need a battery to hold and equalize the charge.
You will need an 80W+ panel to have a net gain.
I recommend an AGM 8GU1 type battery for that sort of duty, and a 150W inverter.
