About Solar Energy
Solar power is energy from the sun that is transformed into thermal or electrical energy.
Solar energy is the cleanest and most abundant renewable resource source available, and the United States has some of the richest solar resources worldwide. Modern innovation can harness this energy for a variety of usages, consisting of producing electricity, supplying light or a comfortable interior environment, and heating water for domestic, commercial, or industrial usage.
Solar power makes it possible for property owner to use the sun to power everyday life: running your a/c unit, washing clothes, seeing TV, cooking supper. All while reducing your carbon footprint, and without burning fossil fuels or putting a pressure on the electrical grid. And while the environmental advantages of solar power are substantial, many homeowners discover that the benefit, unique functions, and cost savings of owning a solar power system are much more alluring.
Top Ten Benefits of Solar Energy
#1 Drastically reduce or even remove your electric bills
Whether you're a property owner, business, or not-for-profit, electricity expenses can comprise a big portion of your monthly expenses. With a solar panel system, you'll generate complimentary power for your system's entire 25+ year lifecycle. Even if you don't produce 100 percent of the energy you consume, solar will reduce your energy costs and you'll still save a lot of cash.
#2 Earn a great return on your financial investment
Photovoltaic panels aren't an expense-- they're one of the finest ways to invest, with returns measuring up to those of more conventional financial investments like stocks and bonds. Thanks to considerable electrical power expense savings, the average American house owner pays off their solar panel system in seven to 8 years and sees an ROI of 20 percent or more.
#3 Protect against increasing energy costs
One of the most clear cut benefits of solar panels is the ability to hedge energy prices. In the past 10 years, domestic electrical power costs have actually gone up by an average of 3 percent each year. By investing in a solar energy system now, you can fix your electrical energy rate and secure against unpredictable increases in electricity costs. If you're a company or homeowner with fluctuating money circulation, going solar likewise assists you much better projection and manage your expenditures.
#4 Increase your home value
Multiple studies have actually found that houses equipped with solar energy systems have greater residential or commercial property worths and sell faster than non-solar houses. Appraisers are significantly taking solar installations into consideration as they value houses at the time of a sale, and as homebuyers end up being more educated about solar, need for properties geared up with solar panel systems will continue to grow.
#5 Increase U.S. energy self-reliance
The sun is a near-infinite source of energy and an essential part of attaining energy self-reliance in the United States. By increasing our capacity to create electrical power from the sun, we can also insulate our country from cost changes in global energy markets.
#6 Develop jobs and help your regional economy
According to The Solar Foundation, the solar market added tasks at a rate nearly 12 times faster than the general U.S. economy in 2015, representing 1.2 percent of all jobs in the nation. This growth is expected to continue. Because solar-related tasks have the tendency to be higher paying and can not be outsourced, they are a substantial contributor to the United States economy.
#7 Safeguard the environment
Solar is a terrific way to decrease your carbon footprint. Buildings are accountable for 38 percent of all carbon emissions in the U.S., and going solar can considerably decrease that number. A typical property solar panel system will remove three to 4 lots of carbon emissions each year-- the equivalent of planting over 100 trees annually.
#8 Demonstrate your dedication to sustainability
Sustainability and business social responsibility are necessary elements of a company's culture and values. They likewise produce bottom line results. Significantly, customers and neighborhoods are acknowledging and rewarding businesses that opt to operate properly. Businesses are finding that "green" credentials are an effective motorist of customer purchasing decisions, developing goodwill and improving organisation outcomes.
#9 Start Saving from Day 1
Solar purchase power agreements (PPAs) and solar leasing has actually made it possible for house owners to go solar for little or no money down.
Lots of house owners choose to fund their solar panels with one of the "pay-as-you-go" funding alternatives. This suggests that a third-party company-- the solar company-- owns the planetary system and takes care of setup, maintenance, tracking and repairs. You merely pay the solar provider for electrical power-- less than you would've paid the energy business.
Since June 2013, 75% of all American homes have access to pay-as-you-go solar.
#10. Solar is a Secure Investment
The energy business are well-known for their changing and unreliable electricity prices. There is clearly an upward pattern.
With solar panels and simple math, we can determine just how much electricity will be produced, and most notably, at exactly what cost, for a minimum of the next 20 years (repaired energy costs).

How Do You Figure How Many Solar Panels You'Ll Need On A House?
What If I Wanted To Run All These Things With Solar Power, How Many Solar Panels And What Type Of Solar Panels Would It Take?
Lights (Maybe Like 10 Lights, Not All At Once)
First of all, Running a washer and Dryer would require a very large system alone. Electric stove is also probably out of question.
Most people have an unrealistic expectaion of a normal Solar system. One panel (About 3X5 ft.) only can supply about 70 Watts of power for 6-8 hours on a nice sunny day. One panel costs about $400 dollars, then you also will spend several thousands of dollars for your Inverter / controller. One panel will supply enough power for maybe 1-2 light bulbs. Each panel will only provide about 500 Watt-Hours a day on a sunny day.
An average electric house may use like 50 Kilowatt-Hours a day. That is 50,000 Watt-Hours. It would take 100 Panels. This kind of system would be very costly and impracticle for most users.
If you want to go completly solar, you must forget dryers, frost free frig, electric heat, Air conditioning, Pumps or any other large electrical loads.
I help my friends work on their systems. It is a community that has no grid power. Everyone is completely independant. Most have 12-16 panels, a large bank of batteries, and at least a 10KW Generator. These systems cost $35,000-$40,000, and still cannot provide any heat or air conditioning without running the generator.
If you want to help the environment, just buy what panels and inverter you can afford, and supplement your power needs, unless you are willing to radically change lifestyle when you go totally solar.
Another option is to get your system free from someone like the link below. Here you just pay for the power it produces and are guaranteed for something like 25 years the rate will not change.
Can A Broken Solar Panel Be Cut With A Bandsaw?
Im Looking To Buy Broken Solar Panels And Cut Them Down To Size, Could This Be Done With A Bandsaw?
Before you do that it is better for you to understand the structure of a solar cell. You may go to http://www.solarfasttrack.com/English/chap5/chap5a.htm to see the diagram.
Besides solar cell is made from very thin and fragile silicon, it has its electrical structure, the positive contact and negative contact. These two structures are needed so that electricity can be flowed when generated.
Unless you are very clear and sure with the structure of the solar panel that you are going to cut, it is not advisable to cut it manually. You can easily break your solar panel.
For more information about solar technology you can go to http://www.solarfasttrack.com . It is a very good website which provides free online solar power course. You can get a lot of useful information here.
Why Do Warmists Have Trouble Believing In A Giant Conspiracy To Distort The Truth?
... When That'S Clearly What Most Of Them Believe Religion Is?
I Understand Why People Might Think That Global Warming Is Not A Conspiracy, Just Not Why They Would Think It'S Absurd To Believe It Is?
If 97% Of All Priests Believe In God.
Does That Consensus Make It Impossible For Religion To Be A Conspiracy?
I for one do not believe religion is a giant conspiracy.
Distortion (or rather denial) of the truth, yes, but not a giant conspiracy.
<<I understand why people might think that Global Warming is NOT a conspiracy, just not why they would think it's absurd to believe it is?>>
That is probably because you simply cannot be bothered with facts to back-up your wild claims. And that is not limited to conspiracy theories alone.
<<If 97% of all Priests believe in God.
Does that consensus make it impossible for Religion to be a conspiracy?>>
Nonsensical question. If they are priests, the de-facto position is that all 100% of them believe in God while the existing consensus can in no shape or form be compared to a scientific consensus as in most if not all religions, scientific proof of the existence of a God is inexistant.
Like in religion, the deniers just love to make lots of wild claims (which their greedy followers take for granted without questions asked) without ever providing any proof whatsoever to back up those claims.
<<You can't 'prove' God exists because God IS existence & existence is the presumption that proof is possible.>>
Of course, your little 'excuse' implies that every single god of every single religion exists which in turn contradicts the many claims by these gods (ie, having singlehandedly created the earth and the universe, to name just one such pesky little religious details).
<<Hence whether AGW is true or false, it's still a Religion because it tells people how to live their lives.>>
So to you religion basically boils down to being told how to live your life? Right.
FYI, those who 'believe' in AGW will not go to 'eco-heaven' just because they have bothered to install solar panels or double glazing. They're still [email protected] as long as the 'non-believers' in AGW manage to dominate the political arena and delay any meaningful global action.
Don't try mixing religion with reality. The Creationists have tried it and failed time and time again.
Can I Put A Solar Panel On My House To Power My Hole House?
I Want To Save Money By Putting A Solar Panel On My House To Power It Is It Even Legal I Thought Instead Of Paying Money For Electricity Bill Why Not Use The Sun
Yes. It would be more than one panel. I did solar last year. I went with Sun Power panels. Very energy efficient 327 watt panels. I have 24 panels on my roof. South facing is the best. I live in L.I., NY and was allowed to go up to 105% of my last year's electric usage. It's not cheap, even with rebates and tax credits. You also have to have a relatively new roof with at least 30 years left of wear. I had to get a new roof at an additional cost over and above the cost for solar. But it's all worth it. My electric bills for the last 6 months have been minimal. Solar did cost over $36,000 and then you apply credits and rebates. It was $11,000 final cost after applying rebates and tax credits, plus the cost of the roof. The payback for me is about 5 years. It is one of the best investments I ever made.
